The museum is the result of the merger of two local collections from the 19th century, namely the Abbeville Museum and the Pontier Museum. The museum houses the personal and family collections of its founder Jacques Boucher de Perez. It provides tourists with an opportunity to learn about the history and cultural heritage of the region.
