During the epidemic, there were not many people everywhere. Passing by the famous Beijing No. 81 courtyard, it was because of the horror movie, so I went to see it for a circle. The only small door was locked and took pictures across the high wall.
I entered this horror compound known for movies this evening. It usually seems that there is a doorman stopping the visitors. Today, someone came in and I followed up. I met people inside and didn't dare to speak. I took two photos and came out.
Capital 81, also known as Chaonei 81, was used by the American Catholic Church to train missionaries in Chinese during the Republic of China. The former British Arsenal was abandoned after liberation. It was called a ghost house because of its mysterious incidents.
No. 81 Chaoni Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing, is a bit famous. It is known as Beijing No. 81. It is actually a unit yard. There is a horror movie that uses this material. In fact, there are no ghosts, and they are all word of mouth to make No. 81 famous.
Known as the four major murderers in Beijing and the first ghost house in China, it is famous for the film Beijing 81.
At the beginning of 1921, Zhu Derong, a 36-year-old Cantonese Catholic, and Puyiya, a 59-year-old Frenchman and his wife, the chief engineer of the Pinghan-Han Railway, bought a four-acre house in Chaoyang Mennei Street, where they built two French-style buildings. There are two buildings, a three-storey building in the East and west, a two-storey building in the West in the north and south, 58 rooms in the building, more than a dozen tile houses and gray houses in the courtyard, and a flower cellar in the east. The mansion is very spacious and luxurious. Puyiya was hired by the Qing government in 1898 to survey and develop the construction of the Northern Line of the Pinghua-Han Railway. By 1906, he had become the chief engineer of the Pinghua-Han Railway. In 1917, he was hired by the Beiyang Government as a government consultant. His opinions and suggestions on Beijing's political construction were very popular and often adopted. In 1921, after he married Zhu Derong, who was in his twenties, he built the private house with his savings. In 1930, when Puyiya died, Zhu Derong gave the Beijing Library maps and literature books he had studied and mapped all his life. In 1946, Zhu Derong rented the first floor of the building on the west side to the Catholic Sisters of Austin to set up a clinic. In 1948, the Catholic Style Chewing Association purchased the house with one billion yuan of national currency. At that time, the national currency was not valuable enough to buy the whole courtyard. The Church promised to pay for Zhu Derong's living expenses and let her live here until her death. In 1953, the Church rented some rooms in the East Tower to the families of the coal mine cultural workers'group. In 1957, Zhu Derong, unable to take care of himself or get the promise of the Catholic Church, had to find a young nanny himself. In 1960, it had become a big yard, unable to stand the noisy environment, Zhu Derong quietly moved out of the yard without knowing where to end. In 1965, Chaoyang District renovated the number of doors and changed 69 Chaoyang Mennei Street to 81, which is still in use today. In 1994, the Catholic Church was granted the title certificate of Court 81, but the evacuation of the residents was slow, and it was not until the government started the demolition that all the residents were evacuated. After Tengqian, the small building was assessed as a dangerous building, which was put on the shelf for ten years. Until 2009, it was listed as a protected cultural relic building by the Beijing Municipal Government and included in the "Beijing Excellent Building List". However, the cost of maintenance of the small building was astonishing, so the building was not renovated. In 2014, a film directed by Ye Weixin, starring Wu Zhenyu Lin Xinru, "No. 81 Beijing" became popular all over the country. The small ocean building in the play aroused countless young people who liked to explore. Everyone came to explore it, and many legends came out one after another. Recently, the courtyard has received the most thorough renovation, with a new small foreign building inside and outside, painted doors and windows, the mountain tigers on the walls have been removed, from the outside can no longer see the dilapidated and dangerous state, looking forward to better protection and use here, so that future generations can well commemorate and admire this beautiful and moving building.
The 81 courtyard on Chaoyang Mennei Street is well-known in Beijing. I don't know when its mysterious legends, or ghost stories, spread throughout the city. With the popular screening of a thriller movie with the same name "No. 81 of Beijing" in the past few years, it was once again regarded as the first villain in the city and became a hot topic after tea and dinner. Then, numerous secret-seekers flocked to it. And its legendary color is covered with a mysterious veil.
