Kairakuen

I came for the plum festival on March 2023.I think the flowering rate is about 50%.It seems that there are early and late blooming plums, and there were many plums that were still in bud.The entrance fee was 300 yen.Parking is advantageous during the plum festival and costs 500 yen.It was a weekday so it wasn't crowded.

As one of the three famous parks in Japan, it is a cloister-style garden created by the ninth generation of Mitocho, the main Tokugawa, in 1842. There is plum forest on the east side of the park, and old fir trees and bamboo forests on the west side.

Waterside Park ( Mito Kairakuen) is famous for its plum blossoms in the park. There are more than 100 kinds of plum blossoms in the park. Every February and March, the park attracts tourists from all over the world to enjoy the plums. There are many famous landscapes in the park, such as "Good Wenting" and "Tu Yuquan" that flow from the well of cold water stone (marble) of 2 meters in diameter. In addition, the flowers and plants such as cauliflower and autumn chrysanthemum are planted in the four seasons. It is very popular with young lovers and tourists who travel with the whole family.

The park was built in the early 19th century by the owner of Mitocho, one of three Japanese gardens. It is free to enter the park, but it costs 200 yen to enter the Haowenting. There are many cherry blossoms and plum blossoms in the park, so winter and spring are a good season to watch. In summer, the garden is green and has a twist.
