Yangtingbao Former Residence

Yang Tingbao's former residence, also known as Chengxian Xiaozhu, is located at No. 104 Chengxian Street, Xuanwu District. It was designed and built by Mr. Yang Tingbao in October 1946. It is a permanent memory of Mr. Yang Tingbao's outstanding contribution in the history of modern Chinese architecture. In the alley that comes out of the east gate of Southeast University of Chengxian Street, it is not easy to find if you don't pay attention. There is an introduction at the door. The gate doesn't seem to have seen much. I have lived nearby for many years and I haven't actually entered.

I often pass by here, revering to see this mysterious yard, lush inside, sometimes can see an old grandmother, she looks very ordinary, very kind, probably Mr. Yang's wife.

Yang Tingbao's former residence, also known as Chengxian Xiaozhu, is a private residence designed and built by the late Chinese architect Yang Tingbao in October 1946, close to the campus of Southeast University where Yang Tingbao has been a long-term teacher. It was opened as the memorial hall of Yang Tingbao's former residence in 2012. The former residence is located on the east side of Chengxian Street. The whole courtyard covers an area of about 1,000 square meters. There is an iron double-opening courtyard door facing the west of the street. There are more than 10 meters of cement road in the door. The roadside is planted with holly. There are bamboo, pine, eucalyptus, eucalyptus, etc. in the courtyard. The main building of the residence is located in the northeast of the courtyard. It is a two-story Western-style building with a brick mixed structure between 3 opens north and south. The building area is 164 square meters. The exterior wall is beige gray powder, with wooden doors and windows, and the red flat tile roof.

It is said that it is a former residence, in fact, it is a small house on the street, very inconspicuous, the address is on the edge of Chengxian Street next to the Southeast University School District. Because Dongda is the cradle of architects, so many people come here to understand, personally feel that there is nothing to see.
