I am not religious at all but the Monastery as a location and structure is impressive. The journey to the Monastery is interesting as it follows the river and the road cuts through some tough terrain...
Great place for a visit near Karpenisi
Worth the 40 minutes drive to see - and even visit - this amazing place. There are few place to grab lunch nearby.
One stop for every one
One very big monastery with watch towers all around and you have an amazing view of the canyon. The holy water is a mountain spring coming from the rocks.
