Wuhan East Lake Peony Garden, the premier peony garden in the south of the Yangtze River
Wuhan East Lake Peony Garden is located on the south side of Liyuan Square in the East Lake Scenic Area, just a 10-minute drive from the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge No. 2, bordered by the Wuhan Second Ring Road to the west and the vast and beautiful East Lake to the east, serving as an important gateway to the East Lake Scenic Area. Occupying more than 100 acres, the East Lake Peony Garden focuses on peonies, integrating peony history, culture, and garden landscape, fully showcasing the beauty, purity, and tranquility of peonies, and is renowned as the 'Number One Peony Garden in the South of the Yangtze River'.
The garden layout within East Lake Peony Garden is exquisitely designed, ingeniously blending the graceful elegance of southern gardens with the majestic grandeur of the 'King of Flowers' from the north. The winding paths lead to secluded spots, the terrain undulates gracefully, the landscape rocks are imposing, the vegetation is lush and layered, and the ponds are shrouded in mist. Scattered throughout are famous cliff inscriptions, peony legend statues, and ancient trees, presenting a splendid array of attractions such as 'National Beauty', 'Fang De', 'Li Chun', 'Forest Square', 'Pond Spring Colors', 'Huanhua Creek', 'Viewing Waterfalls and Listening to Flowers', 'Danxia Welcoming the Sunrise', 'Yao Tai Fairyland', 'Han Shang Hall', 'Peony Fairy', and others. Particularly noteworthy is the 68-ton natural landscape rock located at the main gate plaza, on which Mr. Bai Zhishan, a famous couplet writer, composed an ode, and Mr. Chen Yijing, a 92-year-old calligrapher, inscribed 'Ode to Wuhan East Lake Peony Garden', bearing the history of peonies and the hardships of their relocation from north to south.
East Lake Peony Garden
The most legendary attraction in Wuhan, in fact, the East Lake is indeed very large, and the theoretical time is not enough for a day. The water volume of the East Lake is really much larger than the West Lake. It also takes more time to visit.
The cherry blossoms fell a lot, and the entrance was very traffic jam, resulting in the driver of the taxi was unwilling to drive in. Finally, it was by walking in. It took about 40 minutes to walk. The adjustment of road conditions and traffic needs to be improved.
Take a boat from Chufengyuan Wharf to Moshan Wharf, first play Moshan, return to Chufengyuan, and then play the Ocean World. Generally speaking, it is still possible, that is, it is a bit far to walk in, about 10-15 minutes, this is not good, there is no Wuchang Polar Ocean World in the park. But after all, the fare is much cheaper than that, so in terms of cost performance, it is still possible, you can take the children to see it.
There are more people than cherry blossoms, and too many people take ladders and carry cherry blossoms. If you want to shoot trees, you will become a shooter. In the evening, the park is full of people, it is difficult to take a taxi, and the bus is a long queue. It is too exaggerated to sit on the bus and drive out. Except for these, the cherry blossoms are still very beautiful.
Wuhan East Lake has beautiful scenery and is a good place to visit. Especially when I went in February, the plum blossoms there were in full bloom and the scenery was picturesque. It is recommended to take a taxi in the peak season. If you can't find it, you can walk. Otherwise, you will be suspected of being blocked. I will take a taxi in and then ride out of the scenic spot. It's great!
