Likeng Scenic Area is an ancient town mainly inhabited by the Li family, and every family has family instructions, which is quite interesting It is about 12 kilometers away from Wuyuan County, and it takes about 20 minutes by taxi 💰: 60 RMB/person ⏳Visiting time: The scenic area is not large, 2 hours is enough to finish the tour There is a sightseeing car at the entrance of the scenic area 🈶, 5 RMB per person, but in reality, it is really only 1 kilometer away, not recommended to take it, just walk and you will arrive There are too few people, it really is a niche attraction There are also many roadside snacks, and they are very cheap

I enjoy galloping on the road, experiencing the journey through myriad rivers and mountains, and the local customs and cultures. You can never predict whether the trials you face will lead you to muddy bumps or a rainbow after the rain! 🗺️ Itinerary The original plan was to drive from Shanghai to Jingdezhen, staying one night in Wuyuan's Huangling to see the rapeseed flowers and eat beef bone noodles before heading to Jingdezhen. However, as the rain god seems to have taken a liking to me, ever since I arrived in Jiangxi, thunderstorms have been relentless, forcing me to alter my route: Wuyuan Huangling — Wangkou Village — Likeng — Jingdezhen 📢 Attraction Introduction: ✅ Wangkou Village — Named for its location at the confluence of two rivers, with clear waters in front of the village, hence 'Wangkou' (meaning 'pond mouth'). The first settlers were descendants of Qi, with the village also known as 'Yongchuan' due to its long and flowing history. It is an ancient Huizhou village predominantly inhabited by the Yu clan. The village's unique architectural style, superb craftsmanship, and high cultural taste make Wangkou an exhibition garden of masterpieces of ancient Chinese folk architecture. After spring, the hills are covered with golden yellow. There are many Huizhou-style buildings along the banks of the village streams. Climbing the hill along the path behind the village, you can overlook the entire view of Likeng. The guesthouse is pure white, quite photogenic. The guesthouse also has its own cafe and parking lot, perfect for a lazy afternoon tea when you don't feel like going out. 🥗 Dining Recommendation: Lunch was at 👉 'Home Sweet Home' Farmhouse Not particularly recommended but worth a try, the fresh bamboo shoots were indeed tender, and the landlady was very enthusiastic; Dinner was the internet-famous 👉 Fan's Beef Bone Noodles Not expensive, quite spicy, but lacking the fragrance of beef, not as amazing as imagined, just average. ⚠️ Notes: 1️⃣ The local Jiangxi cuisine is not as spicy as rumored, I found it rather mild; 2️⃣ Remember to enter Wangkou Village through the back door to avoid paying for a ticket; 3️⃣ It's best to visit Likeng in March or April, skip it during the summer as it often gets flooded; 4️⃣ If you have time for a longer visit, consider buying a combo ticket, otherwise visiting just one spot is enough.

Return to Huangling, swim to your heart's content, experience the romance of spring ✅ Prime spots for blooming rapeseed flowers, a sight to behold: 🌻 Near the tourist center at the foot of Jiangling Mountain 🌻 At the foot of Huangling Mountain, take in the beautiful scenery from the cable car (⏰ It's early March now, the mountain rapeseed flowers have not yet bloomed, but the plains are already a golden yellow, don't miss this perfect photo opportunity!) 1⃣ Likeng (55 RMB/person): Small bridges, flowing water, bamboo rafting, a unique charm! 2⃣ Jiangwan (55 RMB/person): Although there are no natural landscapes, it has its own flavor, and it's more fun to visit along the way! 3⃣ Jiangling (80 RMB/person): Although the mountain rapeseed flowers are not yet in bloom, the plains below are beautiful and touching. Why not head to the Scarecrow Park on the mountain to enjoy the unique scenery! 4⃣ Huangling (150 RMB/person, including cable car fee): Although there are many tourists, the stunning scenery is worth the visit. It is recommended to stay on the mountain to fully experience the tranquility and beauty of spring! The Wuyuan Li Keng Scenic Area is an ancient village dominated by the Li surname, located 12 kilometers from the Wuyuan county town. It has been a place of cultural prosperity and talent since ancient times, with hundreds of officials and wealthy merchants emerging from the Song to the Qing dynasties. Li Keng is famous for its Hui-style architecture, with ancient Ming and Qing buildings scattered throughout the village. The residential houses and courtyards are built along the stream and against the mountains, creating a quiet and serene atmosphere.

Wuyuan's first stop is supposed to be Moon Bay, but coming in early March is a bit too soon. The trees have just begun to sprout, and the cherry blossoms planted along Cherry Blossom Avenue are still in buds, waiting to bloom. The bamboo rafts have not yet set sail, which feels a bit disappointing, so we can only head to Likeng. Likeng, 7km away from Moon Bay, has the style of a southern Jiangnan water town, with small bridges over flowing water and Huizhou-style residences. Stone-paved paths, streams, black-awning boats, and festive red lanterns of various styles. The pink walls and black tiles are reflected in the small streams, and the 'Three Carvings of Huizhou'—stone, brick, and wood carvings—are visible everywhere. The village still retains some old houses, where one can see the vicissitudes of history. Each household has family instructions posted at the door, which is considered a way of inheriting traditional culture amidst the simple local customs. Unfortunately, the commercialization in Likeng is quite severe, with various shops standing side by side, causing the already small village to lose its original simplicity and tranquility. The collision of old and new has not achieved the desired harmony. Although villagers are still washing in the river, the water is no longer clear, and the smell is less than pleasant. Instead, walking along the path towards Mushroom Pavilion and Banana Spring, the environment is quiet, the air is fresh, and climbing high to overlook the scenery is quite poetic.

Small bridges, flowing water, and numerous Hui-style buildings make it quite nice, at least it's a low-end version of Wuzhen. The weather is hot, and there are few people, perhaps because of the expensive tickets. You can choose to enter the scenic area at 7 pm for dinner, stroll around the night view, because it's free from this time, the weather is cool at night, and there are not many people, which is quite comfortable.

Hongguan Village is upstream of the stream, the village is larger, you can stroll along the stream, you will see a very large thousand-year-old camphor tree. 6⃣️Zhang Village (P3, P5, P12) The most famous is the bench bridge of about 120 meters. Every year in April and May during the flood season, the river will rise and wash away the bench bridge. In September and October during the dry season, it will be rebuilt to facilitate the villagers to go to the mountains for farming. In this way, the bench bridge also has the meaning of life reincarnation. The bench bridge was not rebuilt when I went there at the end of September recently. It is also very good to experience bamboo rafting here.
