A monument of Basho Matsuo was built on the left side of Nemoto Nakado, which is also the main hall of Ritsuishiji Temple. Basho Matsuo visited Tateishiji Temple during his trip to the back road and wrote the famous phrase "The voice of the swallowing into the quietness and rocks". A monument erected by a disciple stands beside Nemoto Nakado at the end of the Edo period. Furthermore, when I headed a little toward the mountain gate, there was a monument along with a statue of Basho, which seems to have been newly built.
It is a monument on the left side of the front of Nemoto Nakado, and it is engraved with "The voice of the quietness and the swallow of the swallow". It may be the most famous phrase written along the way of "Okunohosomichi". There is also a stone monument with the same phrase beside "Statue of Basho Matsuo and Sora".
It is near the main hall of Yamadera. Anyone can easily see it because it is before climbing 1000 stone steps. I was able to think that Basho Matsuo came here and composed that famous phrase.
It was a "Basho monument (Matsuo Basho statue)" that seemed to be on the spot.
