Zhangjiajie National Forest park is a MUST VISIT place in China. It is difficult to explain with words how this place is, we are still staggered and stunned after visiting it… It is crazy cool, it is like a city with skyscrapers made out of mountains and greenery with insane formations and among them is misty, full of magical corridors and hollows in which some of them are raining like if it was the last day on earth and another ones chilled drizzling… We spent three days exploring the park and we had enough time to see all the places but the ticket is valid for 4 days, which is quite nice! 💙FEELING THE AVATAR EXPERIENCE💙 . . . #passionpassport #scenicspotguide #seasidephotoguide #summervacation #china

I am staying in Zhangjiajie, close to Dayong town, so booked a taxi to the site costing approximately 90rmb. I made sure to leave extremely early to beat the crowds and arrived at 7am. It was very easy to buy a ticket and considering the ticket gives you access to the park for 4 days, very cost effective. My ticket cost 224rmb. The ticket includes the shuttle bus journeys but not the cable car trips (65-75rmb), glass elevator (65rmb) or sightseeing train (38rmb). These have to be booked separately at the site. This did bump the cost up quite a bit. The park is huge! I spent 2 days exploring. Everything is beautiful and easy to find if you have a map (our hotel provided us with a map and you can buy them on site). There are numerous highlights to see such as the first bridge, the Avatar shooting site, the glass elevator and Tianzi mountain. There are also lots of hiking trails offered and these are clearly labelled on the map. We hiked up Tianzi mountain, it was a fantastic experience that took about 2 hours. The visit requires a lot of walking so wear sensible shoes. There are plenty of food and drink options on site. There is also lots of shopping opportunities, I bought a beautiful oil painting of the mountains. Day2 Route：Forest Park ticket station - Huangshi Village - Golden Whip Creek - Ten miles gallery.There are a lot of monkeys at the gate of the forest park and Huangshi village, we met the monkey fight, there are a lot of monkey mothers with little monkeys ask food from tourists, you should better not taking food and bags, or there will be a risk of being caught by monkeys! Huangshi Village is the earliest scenic area developed in Zhangjiajie. Now not many people go there. You can walk for 2 hours to avoid the crowds. Ten Mile Gallery is great place to be visit by a small train. When you enter, you’d better to sit on the left side of the train and when you come out, you sit on the right side of the train. Three sisters mountain is the most significant attention.Although we caught the rain, but after the rain the air more fresh, misty like a fairyland! Address: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie City Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport is the nearest airport to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, about 40 km away. To get to the destination you can take a flight to Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport, then take city bus 402, 4 or taxi to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station, then take a bus to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Tickets: CNY 228/person, valid for 4 days. Sightseeing bus is included (Bailong elevator is excluded). I've been crazy about this place for years (after watching Avatar movie of course), but it was a bit far and kinda complicated to get to, so I couldn't fulfill my dream. But finally it happened! It was breathtaking and it's one of the must-visit places in the world. As a part of the natural heritage – Wulingyuan scenic area, Huangshi Village has been well-preserved. Therefore, there are many wild animals living in the mountain, especially wild monkeys. Getting There - We took a flight from Beijing direct to Zhangjiajie. From there, our hotel organised a driver to pick us up (6 of us), which cost around 200rmb. Attractions - Zhangjiajie national park! Hotels - we stayed at Zhangjiajie Super Mountain hotel. It had a pool and gorgeous views of the mountains. It was a 10 minute walk (absolute maximum) from the park entrance. It also served great Chinese food, had a pool table and the staff were very accommodating. There wasn’t much else around the hotel in terms of restaurants, just a couple of shops selling necessities. If you’d prefer to be closer to the action, the Pullman and Crowne Plaza were a stones throw away from a different entrance which also had lots of more of restaurants and shops. Food & Restaurants - McDonalds within the park, and a KFC / Starbucks on the outside of the park but within walking distance of the entrances. Getting to the mountains would require a trip on the bus. Buses can easily be reached by going to the Public Bus Station. Attractions - Avatar mountains and other sites such as the Glass Bridge. Hotels - There are plenty of hotels to choose from. Hotels right by the entrance or hotels a little further away also offers a good stay. Food & Restaurants - Plenty of small local restaurants for those who want to try local food.
