Anonymous user:“This museum, founded and operated by the University of Pennsylvania, requires a ticket. Since it's not very popular, the ticket revenue likely only partially covers operating costs. It's easily accessible by subway or bus, with the subway about a ten-minute walk away. There's a small garden with a fountain at the entrance. Walk past the garden and into the museum lobby, where the front desk staff scans your ticket before you enter. The Egyptian section on the left is undergoing renovations, and some Egyptian artifacts have been moved to the second floor. The right-hand hall on the first floor begins with the Sumerian civilization of the Mesopotamian region, detailing various artifacts and kingdoms. The domed center hall on the second floor displays artifacts from Asia, particularly China, including two reliefs of the Six Horses from the Zhaoling Mausoleum in Xianyang. Seeing artifacts from my hometown from such a distance is truly moving. The left-hand hall on the second floor features ancient Greek and Roman artifacts. The collection is extensive and densely displayed. The museum itself is small, but its detailed presentation of various ancient civilizations is well worth a visit.”

It seems that every time I come to Philadelphia, I will repeat the ritual of checking in. The two are very close, just walk across the road. The exhibition hall is open to the public for free, and there is no need to buy tickets. The Independence Palace needs to be booked in advance on the official website, with a ticket booking fee of 1 yuan. The Liberty Bell has an independent exhibition hall for visiting, and the entrance requires security check. You can visit it up close and walk to the Liberty Bell. It was previously possible to circle 360 degrees, but this time it was only open 180 degrees, and the other half was blocked, but the advantage is that you can unlock a Liberty Bell with no one in the background.
The Liberty Bell was originally in the palace of the Independence Palace, and then it was displayed in the memorial hall on the lawn because the bell body cracked. This time, the display stand at the visitor center was also empty. Another knowledge point was that cracks first appeared when it was transported to Philadelphia in 1752, and then after several repairs, there were still cracks, so they gave up repairing it. And it was this bell that rang on July 4, 1776. The Liberty Bell has also been relocated several times. Although the locations of each relocation were not far away, people were still worried that there would be more serious cracks. They also installed a micro-variable displacement sensor on the bell that can test the movement of one millionth of a meter to test whether it is suitable for relocation. Every visit seems to unlock different little knowledge points, which is probably one of the pleasures of traveling.”
palettes_ny:“I feel that the attractions in downtown Philadelphia are really excellent. The historic sites near the Liberty Bell are under the unified management of National Park. Opposite the Liberty Bell is a large visitor center where you can consult Philadelphia's travel guide. The staff and volunteers here are also very enthusiastic to help give travel advice and answer consultation questions. There is also a small souvenir shop here, where you can buy refrigerator magnets, notebooks, postcards and other related Philadelphia souvenirs.
There are also exhibition explanations in the visitor center. Although it is relatively miniature compared to the museum, it still does not affect the number of tourists here. If you come by car, there is a parking lot in the basement of the Independence Hall Visitor Center for everyone to park. Although parking in the city center of Philadelphia is not very convenient and parking spaces are not easy to find, it is recommended that everyone park in the underground parking lot of the visitor center. If you come during the peak season, you need to apply for the ticket to the Independence Hall at the visitor center first, but I don’t know if it is because of the epidemic. You don’t need to take a ticket when you come, you can go directly to visit.”
poohwubear:“Philadelphia was once the capital of the United States, so there is plenty of history, museums, monuments, and sites around the city. The Philadelphia Museum of Art boasts a nice array of exhibits. I visited on a Friday evening after work because museum admission is free Friday evenings (pay what you wish). I did pay for parking at their garage, which was only $5.”
Mushfiqur Rahman Chowdhury:“Lots of iconic buildings and landmarks across both sides of the street. You can visit the place in the 100 US$ bill as well, like the final image below.”
WB2021:“A great piece of US history. You can easily spend a very informative afternoon roaming its halls and learning more about the declaration of independence.”

西行阿里:“Franklin died here in 1790. The house itself has been destroyed and no longer exists, but the original site has been preserved and the Benjamin Franklin Museum has been established.”

palettes_ny:“Every time I visit Philadelphia, I have to arrange half a day to visit Reading Station Market. You can find all kinds of products and delicacies here. The bustling diners, the full of fireworks, the lively and crowded, all kinds of languages filling the ears, will also make the city tour more warm. As the saying goes, the atmosphere of fireworks is often closely linked to a word - the world. In the supermarket, what you see is the cold shelves, and in the vegetable market, you see people one by one. Come here and you will feel that you will unlock a different Philadelphia with a lively and fireworks atmosphere.”
palettes_ny:“When I was looking for restaurants in Philadelphia, I saw this Spanish restaurant with over 1,000 reviews and a score of 4.5. It is famous for its Spanish tapas. They are also a popular restaurant with long queues, so I made a reservation online in advance. I really like Tapas restaurants. The dishes are small, very similar to the appetizers you eat before meals. Even if there are two girls, you can try a lot of delicious food you want to taste. It is very suitable for people with decision-making difficulties and you can check in all the delicious food you want to eat at once. When I came here, it happened to be restaurant week in Philadelphia, and the menu selection for restaurant week was excellent. The environment inside their store is also very refined and classical. The huge wine cabinet is located at the entrance, and the environment is absolutely amazing.”
M30***41:“We had a show at the nearby Verizon Hall later that evening. Service was fast, the food was tasty and there was a special show menu, although we opted for options from the regular menu, which was just as fast.”
M30***41:“Has a few different of options on the menu. However pretty expensive. Opted for the burger it was a bit greasy and loads of cheese lots of sauce. Ended up just eating the burger without bun $20.”
palettes_ny:“After my friend came back from a trip to Philadelphia, he started to recommend this ice cream shop like crazy. So, under the recommendation of his friend, he added it to the Philadelphia check-in list. He took advantage of this visit to the old city of Philadelphia to check in at this century-old ice cream shop not far from the Independence Palace. Their store is really an ice cream shop hidden on the corner. The store is very low-key and even a little inconspicuous. If you hadn't seen the people queuing at the door, you might have missed it.
They don't have dine-in now, you can only order pick up at the door. The sign at the door shows the flavors they supply that day. One line is queuing to order food, and another line is queuing to get ice cream. I ordered butter peach, which my friend especially recommended. This has a rich peach aroma, and with the addition of Butter, the milky flavor will be more abundant. Another flavor is Sea Salt Caramel recommended by the store. Of the two flavors, I prefer the latter. The richness of the taste will be better, and the sea salt caramel flavor is paired with the milky aroma, which is not sweet at all.”
palettes_ny:“The cheesesteak sandwich that you can't miss when you come to Philadelphia. I will make a special trip to check in every time I come. I have collected many cheesesteak restaurants. I check in 1-2 every time I come. This time, I took advantage of the visit to the old city of Philadelphia and checked in this 4.4-point Philly Cheesesteak located next to the old city. It is a popular restaurant with more than 4,000 reviews. The interior of the restaurant is in the style of a fast food restaurant, with an open kitchen and a classic black and white facade. If you come during the week, there won't be many people queuing for their meals. It takes about ten minutes to wait for a seat and order.
🌈【Specialties to order】
✨Cheese Steak✨
Cheese can be selected by yourself. According to the store's recommendation, I chose Cheez Whiz, paired with fried onion rings. It's a big one, ten dollars a portion. It is said that this classic combination is also their popular signature. The beef is cut thinner, the portion is large, and the gravy is sufficient. It tastes very good when eaten together. I packed a whole bag and went to the river bank to enjoy the scenery while eating. I could also prepare a drink at the same time. It would be a little salty after eating the whole bag.”
没有蜡olling:“Philadelphia City Tavern in 1773! Washington and other congressmen had dinner here! The tableware, waiter clothes and menu of this restaurant are still in 1773! Very unique! Very delicious!”
palettes_ny:“Tired of cheese steak, I saw everyone recommending this pork burger that is more suitable for Asian tastes, so I rushed to Reading Terminal Market. They are also listed as a must-visit store in the food court. Their sandwiches are more like a modified version. Unlike the traditional cheese steak model, their sandwiches are also paired with vegetables, which tastes very good together. The taste of pork is a bit like pickled pork, which is not very chewy. The pork is relatively lean and thinly sliced. If you eat a few more bites of super thick sliced pork, you may get some food stuck in your teeth.”
M30***41:“Wonderful variety of food. Everything I've tried has been excellent. Timing of plates to table was perfect. They've got this down to an art. Recommend!”

The Longwood Garden is really a great place to take photos. It is worth the trip. It is very comfortable to walk in it.
It is very suitable for couples and friends to check in together❗️ It is really nice to take pictures. It is said that it used to be the mansion garden of a wealthy family. It is really cool! M30***41:“Food and service was outstanding. We had the eggplant for an appetizer, highly recommend. The carrots in balsamic they put table side were really a nice touch. The Veal Monti and Linguine Pescatore were incredible.”
M30***41:“Of course, like a typical tourist, I had to partake in the city's delicacy. After reading several restaurant reviews, I decided on Geno's, mostly because of its appearance and location to my next stop.”

It would be a nice trip to have a walk in the downtown of Philadelphia. I feel walking is the first choice to read its retro style. If you are bored with museum, buildings on the corner are also interesting. Here are many welcomed western food, like steak and Spanish cuisine. If you like Asian dishes, the Chinese city is nice place to go.

Philadelphia, in the state of Pennsylvania, can be reached very easily with an hour by train from New York. Through the Amtrak company you can book your armchair that will take you from the skyscrapers to the city where the United States of America was born.
The 7 unmissable things to do and see:
1) Philadelphia Museum of Art - Rocky's staircase
2) Sunset bike ride to Fairmount Park and Boathouse Row.
3) Elfreth’s Alley, among the most beautiful streets in the United States
4) One Liberty Observation Deck at sunset
5) The Reading Terminal Market - Where to eat in Philadelphia (try Cheesesteak)
6) Magic Gardens - The Magic Gardens of Philadelphia
7) The Countryside: Brandywine and Valley Forge

A piece of Heaven on heart: Longwood Gardens - Brandywine.
The part of the trip that I most awaited in the United States was that concerning the Philadelphia countryside.
I am fascinated by small towns where life flows more slowly and you can breathe a super authentic air.
Brandywine, about an hour from Philadelphia, is a green velvet coat, among which stand out houses with white fences and rows of vineyards.
Nestled in this little paradise are Longwood Gardens.
I had fun circling the thousands of flowers from every corner of the world while breathing the magic of a weekend on the other side of the planet.
And do you prefer big cities or small towns?
