Staff was friendly.
i paid for the breakfast - got a bag of food including a drink, a bread, an apple, a small box of granola and jam, and a yogurt and a free access to coffee machine - nothing fancy but good enough to feel full and energised.
i was pleased to be able to choose the room type (upper beds or lower beds).
i particularly enjoyed using the kitchen and the common area as the design was so nice and well-equipped. i was able to make my own meal there.
Highly recommended!
Very clean place far away from the city centre.
The beds have no curtains but they are provided with a little lamp and a plug. Several toilets available and a short front desk opening times. I had left my luggage in the morning and the reception was locked since 4pm so I needed to dial from a foreign nr so I could collect my luggage. The staff was very kind but I would have appreciated more information on closing times.
A very convenient hostel for one night if you go to the airport next morning. No supermarkets, bars, transport in the area. The central bus station is 12-15' walk, when it's not too snowed.
We paid an upgrade to a twin superior and had early access to the room which we were grateful for, following an early flight. Twin superior room was spacious, coffee machine, fridge and kettle provided, bathroom was great. Really comfy beds. Staff were fantastic and breakfast was superb, loads of choice. Would thoroughly recommend.
**100/100 - Excellent!**
This place feels as warm and inviting as home. The location is easy to find, and the room is exceptionally clean and comfortable. The hot tub is a must-try! Breakfast features traditional Icelandic dishes with a great variety that truly fuels your journey. I highly recommend this stay!
The biggest plus of this hotel is its direct access to the airport bus. It's also quite convenient, about a 10-minute walk to the bus stop for all day tours. Across the street, there's a public bus that goes directly to Rainbow Street, the Cathedral, and other places, costing around 38 RMB (about 38RMB by credit card) per ride. Just a 5-minute walk to the left from the hotel entrance, there's a fairly large supermarket where you can buy bread, sandwiches, fruits, yogurt, etc.
However, I really have to complain about the hotel rooms. The bathroom being small is one thing, but in the twin room, there wasn't even enough space for two suitcases. If we managed to open a suitcase, there was absolutely no room to walk. What's more, we had booked five consecutive nights and pre-paid the room fees through Trip.com. But on the third day of our stay, the hotel informed us they received a government tax adjustment notice and showed us a piece of paper, demanding we pay an additional tax. We were forced to pay an extra 27.5 euros, which is absolutely unreasonable!!
The room is a good size, very clean, warm comforter, nice TV, clean bathroom.
But! Poor lighting, no in-house telephone, no instructions for remote.
But, the receptionist young man is full of information, very well spoken, and took care of my needs.
The breakfast, an avocado toast, and coffee were excellent. So good!
I would recommend the hotel as its location is super.
I want to give an objective review of this hostel.
First, the pros:
1. The price is excellent. I stayed for five nights for just over 2000 [currency, e.g., ISK], which is very reasonable considering the prices in Iceland.
2. The communal kitchen and bar are very spacious and bright, making cooking very convenient.
3. The location is central; it's easy to walk anywhere within 15 minutes, and there are bus stops nearby.
4. The hostel has a minimalist, modern design, and the facilities are relatively new. The individual bed curtains provide great privacy.
Now, a few areas for improvement:
1. There are a bit too few restrooms and showers, so sometimes you have to wait in line.
2. I really hope they could provide a female-only dorm, even if it's a multi-person room. My bed this time was near the door, and people were constantly coming and going in the middle of the night. Two guys snored loudly, which was incredibly disruptive, and the air quality also deteriorated. I was woken up three times in one night – it was a nightmare.
3. It would be good to separate the male and female bathrooms/showers. Having them mixed is indeed a bit unhygienic.
The location is super convenient for city walks to Rainbow Street, the church, and supermarkets. The room was clean and tidy, perfect for cooking as it had basic supplies like oil and black pepper, plus a dishwasher. The front desk service was also very enthusiastic! Just remember that in Iceland, you need to bring your own toiletries and slippers, and there's no razor. Luckily, the supermarket is very close.
The room was great, and the front desk service was excellent. Breakfast was superb! The only downside is that it's a bit far from the city center, so getting out for breakfast can be a trek. They even had oatmeal, which, as a Chinese person, brought tears to my eyes! 😄
Everything was wonderful at this hotel, it was very clean, and I felt very comfortable🫶🏻.There are even discount coupons🤗🌸

Great
BBailidaiwangThis hotel offers great value for money, especially considering how expensive things are in Iceland. We stayed for a week and it only cost us about 2500 per person. The hotel staff are incredibly efficient; they typically bring whatever you need within five minutes. For example, when we mentioned our room was cold, they immediately brought a heater. We also requested bowls and an extra blanket, and those were delivered within five minutes as well.
SShanghai based coupleA once-in-a-lifetime trip made more meaningful and charming by world-leading staff and service.
We messaged ahead and told them that we were on our honeymoon. Iceland is a unique place on Earth, but almost as surprising as the geology, geography and weather was just how remarkable and excellent this hotel was. Its location was outstanding right in the old city centre and an easy walk to boat trips (for organised bus trips, which all use the same bus stop numbering, the nearest bus stop is number 5, about 5 minutes’ walk away), the breakfast was splendid and the room was unbelievably cosy, which was particularly welcome after a winter’s day adventuring amongst the ice and snow and especially the epic and cold wind.
This once-in-a-lifetime trip was made extraordinarily special by the outstanding and attentive staff who really impressed with their thoughtfulness and commitment to excellence throughout. We cannot thank the whole team enough, both everyone we met as well as everyone who worked behind the scenes, for delivering a world-leading stay.
We felt exceptionally lucky to have chosen this hotel, and so delighted that we did!

A very convenient hostel for one night if you go to the airport next morning. No supermarkets, bars, transport in the area. The central bus station is 12-15' walk, when it's not too snowed.
GGuest UserAdvantages:
The hotel is located on a street surrounded by shops and restaurants, making it very convenient for transportation and daily needs. It is also quite close to attractions such as Rainbow Street and the Hallgrímskirkja. The room is spacious and can easily accommodate three large suitcases.
Disadvantages:
The room lighting is relatively dim, and the soundproofing is poor. We were assigned a room on the 3rd floor. Since there was no air conditioning, we had to open the windows for ventilation. However, due to the poor soundproofing, conversations from people on the street could be clearly heard. Additionally, when someone in nearby rooms opened and closed their doors while going out or returning to their rooms, the walls would vibrate noticeably.
