Hotels With bar in Capital Region, Iceland

I was expecting a dormitory type, but there were private rooms with locks, so I had my own private space as long as I didn't make too much noise. The shared bathrooms and toilets were sufficient in number. The common area had everything I needed, including a refrigerator, microwave, cups, and disposable cutlery. I heard they have locations in other cities too, so I'd definitely like to try them out again.

Super friendly staff, best location in town. Only negative thing I can say is, despite our rooms not being booked by anyone else prior and being ready for us, the hotel wanted to charge by the hour for early check in. If you have luggage with you, they'll also charge you to store that too if you are early to 2pm check in. As our flight arrived at 6AM it meant we had to haul our luggage around or pay the price which was inconvenient. Otherwise great spot, would return!

Hands down the best hostel in Iceland! The common areas are incredibly clean, and the private bathrooms with showers are a huge plus. It's super warm inside – almost too warm! The bedding is really soft, and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking.

I chose a room with a kitchen, which was pretty good. It had an induction cooker and bar stools, so I could cook simple dishes. There was no kettle, but there was a coffee machine. I had to wash the dishes myself to make it convenient for the next customer. Because I couldn't ensure that the previous customer had washed them very clean, I also recommended that everyone rinse the dishes themselves before using them.

This stay was, to put it mildly, a bug-infested lesson. I stayed for 4 nights. The first two nights were fine, but on the third night, things went south – I started getting bitten by bugs in the room, resulting in red spots all over my body. This wasn't just me being sensitive; these were clearly visible bites that required photographic evidence (which I did take, of both the spots and the bugs). What's even more outrageous is that this wasn't an isolated incident. I later found out that previous guests had reported similar issues, indicating that the hotel has a long-standing problem with hygiene and pest control, rather than a one-off accident. After the incident, the hotel's solution was to arrange a room change. The problem is, what had to happen already happened. The room change felt more like going through the motions than actually solving the issue. Due to hygiene concerns, I personally disposed of some of my clothes and shoes, essentially paying extra for this stay. To summarize: * The room has a pest problem. * Hygiene management is questionable (and seemingly a long-term issue). * The response was delayed and inadequate. * The guest had to bear the additional costs themselves. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, you might gamble on it; but if you don't want to use your body as a test subject, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.

Conveniently located at the entrance to Reykjavik. Second-floor room with no elevator. The room was spacious and had a bathtub, making this the only place we stayed after seven nights in Iceland. Even luxury hotels didn't have bathtubs. My husband was delighted with his first bath after driving about 2,000 kilometers. The bathroom and washroom had poor drainage, so water overflowed from somewhere and flooded the entire place. The room wasn't particularly clean, but it's a good option as a hotel to stay before entering (or leaving) Reykjavik. There are restaurants nearby, like KFC and Sabue. There was no hair dryer in the room, but I think you could borrow one from the front desk if you needed one. We realized this in the morning and had to go down to the front desk to borrow one. Breakfast was minimal. No hot meals. Also, the serving area was small and crowded. Nothing particularly noteworthy, but overall it was an average hotel. By average, I don't mean badly; it wasn't the best, but it was passable. I hope this review is helpful.

The hotel is very popular. I could only book a standard room for a king-size bed room before. But when I was about to check in, I saw a superior room and grabbed it immediately. The size of the superior king-size bed room was OK, but the superior twin room should not be 24 square meters and seemed very small. So my friend upgraded the double standard to a suite.

The location is excellent, within walking distance to the city's popular attractions, restaurants, cafes, etc. The room is relatively small, but comfortable. The bathroom is relatively small, especially the wash basin. The so-called buffet breakfast is not bad, but there is not much choice of food. The hotel service and staff are very friendly and helpful.

The room is a good size, very clean, warm comforter, nice TV, clean bathroom. But! Poor lighting, no in-house telephone, no instructions for remote.  But,  the receptionist young man is full of information, very well spoken, and took care of my needs.  The breakfast, an avocado toast, and coffee were excellent. So good! I would recommend the hotel as its location is super.

The service is very good. The location of the hotel is very convenient. You can take the bus from the airport to the terminal and walk directly there. No problem. We are a very good hotel in summer. When you get to the bus terminal, you don’t have to enter the reception hall. Just go through the flowers and grass on the path. Of course, you can take your luggage with you. Don't press on the flowers and plants. Just a reminder. When you see a pedestrian road, cross the highway. Go directly. Don't go on the overpass. If you keep walking across it, you can see the youth hostel. It is right next to the University of Iceland sign. Handsome guy serves. The staff was great and they let us check in in advance. The female manager was also very nice. There is a very beautiful lobby and a large kitchen and restaurant in the building where we live. We were very happy living there and often cooked our own meals. Friends from all over the world are very good. Except for a young ********* couple, I remind all Chinese people to be smart when going out. Prices in Iceland are very expensive, but when you go to other people’s restaurants, you must not order a drink for only a few people. , or a meal, if you think it’s too expensive or just want to check in, just send one person in. Don’t let the Chinese face fall in when you go out. Many ********* Internet celebrities let people bring rice and doll noodles. In fact, the Icelandic pig Supermarkets have everything and are not too expensive. Iceland is a region with a shortage of supplies. Due to geographical reasons, they don’t have much time to do business, so everyone takes up other people’s resources in the summer, but only a few people can consume one meal. It’s a bit Excessive. I also participated in a one-day tour and felt that the tour guide was very professional. Please also tip the driver and tour guide, about 10 US dollars. It is not a matter of money, it is an affirmation of their professionalism. Others will be very happy, but this time When I tipped the tour guide in Iceland, he was very surprised. He said he had never seen a Chinese tip him. I said no, we Hong Kong people always tip when we see good service. Maybe young Chinese nowadays, I no longer have the heart to appreciate others' services. The tour guides in Iceland are very professional. Some of them are university teachers. They promote Iceland in the summer, so they come out to lead tours. But as he said, except for some Westerners and us, there was no one in the car. A few mainland girls paid extra tips, and the tour guide stopped at the small church where they checked in and took special care of them along the way. So if you go to other countries, you feel that the people there don't look good on you. Examine yourself, just like us Hong Kongers and ********* people who laugh at mainland tourists who go to Hong Kong and Taiwan to bring their own instant noodles instead of buying them. The situation is the same. In Hong Kong and Taiwan, consumption is expensive, and mainland tourists think it is not worth it. If you laugh at others, go to Iceland and bring your own instant noodles.
