Excellent stay in Kumamoto! The hotel was clean, modern, and very comfortable. The room was well-maintained and surprisingly spacious, with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to assist with any questions. The location was convenient, with easy access to public transportation, restaurants, and popular attractions. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient, making the overall experience hassle-free. Great value for money and one of the highlights of our trip to Kumamoto. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Great, near to JR station. For the price we paid ~15k JPY compared to 6k/night hotel, service provided by the 6k hotel better than it. This hotel has no onsen. the bathroom only provided 1 sanitary bag and never replace and clean it after 1st day compared to the cheaper hotel gave 4 bags. bathroom ventilation not so good, almost suffocated with vapours when shower+Dusty ventilation filter film. Complimentary 2bottles of water for each night stay but ended up only replace 1 bottle for us. Breakfast wide selection and high quality but everyday same, so if u stay longer better don’t take their breakfast. 2 out of 4days long waiting to be seated, bcoz no one at the reception. Beyond this, some lobby receptionists were fluent in English and ready to help was a top notch. I have a good sleep in this hotel. For 4 nights stay can pick any day u like to have 1 free cleaning service, this was great. Anyhow, thank you for serving.

Kurokawa onsen was the highlight of my trip to Kyushu. So I splurged on this accomodation. I chose a room with river view and it was the best decision. Love the stay so much. Staffs were lovely and helpful. They speak good English and Mandarin. Lobby was spacious. Plenty of spaces to chill and chat as a family. The onsens were abundance to choose from. Breakfast was awesome, so was dinner. We got the room with 2 beds and 2 futons. We all enjoyed our stay so much

JAL's service really deserves a thumbs up; many Chinese service industries could learn from them. My earring fell into the sink, and I'd pretty much given up hope. But the lady at the front desk and a gentleman went to great lengths to help me find it. I'm so grateful!

The room was super clean, well decorated and full equipped. The checkin process was easy. The hotel uses the machine for checking in and out. During my check in, there was a staff to facilitate me with it. The staff was really nice. They provided various amenity kits you can pick them up at the lobby to use in your room.

This was my second stay here. It's less than a kilometer from Kumamoto Shinkansen Station, right next to the Shirakawa River. After leaving the hotel, you cross a bridge and can then take a leisurely stroll along the clean riverside path. Another bridge brings you to Kumamoto Shinkansen Station. The whole walk takes about 15 minutes. The hotel is a bit older, but overall it's still very clean and pleasant, and the breakfast is quite good. There's a Japanese restaurant called Korin next to the smoking room on the first floor, and the food is delicious. The rooms are pretty clean, and while the bathrooms are small, they're perfectly acceptable. In terms of location, it's certainly not as convenient as Bloom right next to Kumamoto Station. You won't find any convenience stores nearby; the closest one is a LAWSON about a 10-minute walk behind the hotel.

This is definitely a fabulous and fantastic experience living in a Ryokan, and this Ryokan is also reputable among local people, which means it is highly recognized by Hitoyoshi residents. Some local residents also spend their time in this Ryokan as a relaxing journey. I ordered the room with breakfast served, and it looked so amazing and delicate. I hope to visit here again in the near future if there will be any chances. I absolutely love this little town.

Room is big & clean. Pillow not very comfortable. The shower room is small, good to have a shelf to put toilette. Staff are very friendly. They tried their best to communicate with us. Breakfast & dinner spread is very good. But almost similar range after 3 nights can be a little overwhelming. Onsen is good.

The dinner food is very rich and fresh, the breakfast is as delicious, there is Asu Shrine nearby, and the private hot spring is very enjoyable. Definitely come again next time.

Staying at OMO5 Kumamoto by Hoshino Resorts was a truly delightful surprise! The hotel boasts an excellent location, right above a bustling shopping district in the city center, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and dining. What impressed me most was the exclusive outdoor viewing terrace – I could sip coffee while gazing at the magnificent Kumamoto Castle, and both the daytime and nighttime views were absolutely captivating. The room design, with its warm wooden tones and modern feel, was thoughtfully laid out, making for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Combining Hoshino Resorts' signature attentive service with excellent value for money, this is definitely my top recommendation for accommodation when visiting Kumamoto. I highly recommend it to everyone! However, there's one thing I need to mention: even when the air conditioning wasn't on, there were constant drafts of cool air, as if cold air was wafting up from the floor. This was quite uncomfortable.
