This hotel is, without a doubt, the most satisfying I've stayed at during my solo trips to Japan over the past few years! 👍5☆☆☆☆☆ 1. The hotel is conveniently located right next to Kumamoto Station, just a 3-4 minute walk to the left after exiting (Photo 3). The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are large. They provide complimentary bottled water. It's quiet at night. Photos 5 & 6 show the view from room 714. The front desk staff are patient, professional, and attentive. 👍 2. There are many dining options inside the train station, making meals very convenient. 3. There are bus and tram stops right outside the hotel. You can use IC credit cards (UnionPay, VISA) and Alipay directly on all Kumamoto city buses and trams for payment, which is incredibly convenient! We walked to Kumamoto Castle, stopping at Kitaoka Shrine ⛩ along the way. We took Tram Line A back. It's very close to Kumamoto Castle and the city center. 4. The next morning, we headed to Mount Aso. We bought tickets to Aso Station at Kumamoto Station, and there were several train times to choose from. Very convenient! If you're planning a city walk in Kumamoto and a visit to Mount Aso, I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a fantastic resort! With the dinner and breakfast package, you practically don't need to leave the hotel for meals. The resort offers a wide range of entertainment facilities, including a swimming pool and a mini lazy river. The onsen (hot springs) are also excellent, with each bath providing a different scenic view. It's conveniently located about 1 km (a 15-minute walk) from Aso Station, making it very easy to get to the volcano crater.

Staff were nice, a couple of them speaks English well. Our twin room with sofa bed was adequate. Sofa bed has seen better times n can feel the springs, not for someone who is on heavy side. Location of hotel is good. We love the hair dryer, Refa brand, top notch. Parking cost ¥1000 per night. Just behind is the shopping street and ard 15 mins walk is a big shopping mall, Sakura Machi. Kumamoto Castle can be seen opposite the hotel but if walking is still not so near. We decided to check out of hotel and drove to the castle. There are a few parking lots near to the castle but some need to walk longer.

Environment: The environment is very good, right next to the stream. It is not far from the station and the hot spring service station. It should be the largest hotel in the entire Kurokawa Onsen. Service: There is a shuttle service to the station, which is very convenient. The hotel has 2 large baths, one is for hand-held types, and the other is a bath that can only be used by accommodation. Overall, it is great, the water quality is very good and clean. The hotel service is very good, the instructions are very clear, and the buffet dinner is quite rich, with hot pot, teppanyaki, and sashimi. The only shortcoming I found is that the breakfast variety is a little small, and there is no seafood rice bowl that I like most. Overall, it is still great. Next time I have the opportunity to go to Kurokawa Onsen again, I will definitely choose Youcai.

I had an enchanting two-night stay at this hotel, where the picturesque view of the river from my room added a serene touch to the experience. The included breakfast and dinner were nothing short of fantastic, offering a delightful journey through Japanese cuisine. The attentive service further elevated my stay. The onsen was a highlight, boasting a spacious interior and a tranquil outdoor area. The immersion in the calming waters was a rejuvenating experience, and the overall ambiance added a profound sense of relaxation to my stay. Highly recommend for those seeking a blend of natural beauty, exceptional food, and attentive service.

Before coming to Kumamoto, I noticed that some hotels here were a bit small and old. After comparing a few, I decided to go with the long-established local brand, Nikko Hotel, and it turned out to be a very wise choice! The hotel is right in the city center, directly opposite Tsuruya Department Store. Pedestrian streets like Shimotori and Ginza-dori are just a few minutes' walk away, lined with countless restaurants, izakayas, bars, and drugstores. Although the hotel has been around for some time, it's very well-maintained and clean, clearly showing the elegance of a classic high-end hotel. Both the rooms and shower areas are quite spacious. For breakfast, you have two options: a Japanese-style meal on the 7th floor or a buffet on the 2nd floor, which offers a rich variety of delicious dishes. The concierge was exceptionally helpful and polite, assisting with Shinkansen schedules and calling taxis. They even kept bowing until we got into the car.

This is our second time staying at FAV Hotel, and the overall experience was very pleasant. Firstly, the room design is very modern, giving it a comfortable feel. The interior color palette primarily uses warm tones, complemented by wooden decor, creating a cozy atmosphere. The room's layout is also very practical. The bunk bed design is especially suitable for family travelers; children can play on them, making it easier for parents. Additionally, the beds are extremely comfortable, ensuring we had a good night's sleep. In terms of space, the room is exceptionally spacious, and it provides plenty of charging ports. The room is equipped with a kitchenette and a washing machine, which is extremely convenient. The only minor drawback is the limited parking, with only three spaces available. However, there's a nearby parking lot which costs just 600 yen for the whole night. Furthermore, there's a convenience store within a one-minute walk. In summary, I was extremely satisfied with the design, comfort, and convenience of the rooms at this hotel. Highly recommended for family travelers!

An extremely excellent hotel. All the staff have excellent attitudes. They take the initiative to pick up luggage, park the car, deliver luggage to the room, and introduce the facilities in the room. They are friendly and attentive. The dinner has a seafood theme, a feast of abalone, octopus, and seafood. The food is excellent and the restaurant is elegantly decorated. The bathroom in the room is huge, check out at 11:00, and the bathhouse is open for 18 hours, which is very considerate. The view from the room and bathhouse is excellent.

The hotel's service was really good, but the facilities are seriously outdated. At ¥1200 per night without breakfast, I expected a much better stay. My biggest complaint is that the duvet didn't have a cover, only a sheet placed over it for hygiene, which made sleeping very uncomfortable. I didn't sleep well the first two nights, and by the third night, I couldn't stand it anymore. I talked to the hotel, and they finally provided a duvet with a cover, allowing me to get a good night's sleep. This definitely doesn't meet four-star room standards. As for the location, it's convenient enough to get to Kumamoto Castle by tram. However, there aren't many dining options around the hotel, making it inconvenient to eat out. I'd recommend the hotel's lunch buffet, which offers great value for money. If you're staying here, I suggest adding breakfast to your booking, as finding places to eat nearby is difficult.

The picturesque scenery and outdoor onsen were delightful. The stay with dinner and breakfast included was absolutely fantastic value for money. Dinner was incredibly generous, and there was a wide variety of options for breakfast too. They even provided fireworks for the kids! My only slight complaint was that the air conditioning wasn't quite cold enough for my liking, but I still managed to sleep comfortably.

Amazing
AAnonymous UserI really like this hotel. From the moment I parked my car, there were staff members helping to guide and confirm the parking space, accommodation name and country of the traveler. They also helped with the luggage. When I checked in, there was a staff member who could speak Chinese to help confirm (seemed to be *********). There were many staff members who seemed to have different nationalities. When I went in to confirm the reservation, they also gave me matcha and snacks. We booked the Hongye room on the first floor. The room was great and had its own hot spring, so I didn't have to go to the public hot spring. I could soak in it 24 hours a day. There was hot spring water circulating so I could soak in it whenever I woke up. The hotel has two hot spring houses that can be reserved, 40 minutes each time, and each room can make one reservation. The public bath is available at any time without reservation. However, since I have my own hot spring, I didn't go to the public bath or the hot spring house, so I don't know how it works. In addition, I have my own private room for dining and I have to write my name. It feels very noble (but it seems that only some room types have private rooms). Dinner was great, every dish was delicious (except dessert XD), the appetizers were exquisite and delicious, the sashimi was also very sweet, I thought the grilled fish would have a lot of bones, but it was not separated well, and finally we had the red beef shabu-shabu, the meat was tender and the soup was sweet. Breakfast is a large grilled salmon set with salad and hot spring tofu. There is also a self-service beverage bar and natto seaweed desserts outside. There is also all-you-can-drink Aso milk. Remember not to buy it here, just drink it for breakfast XD. The overall stay was great, the staff were friendly, I strongly recommend booking a room with one night and two meals and a hot spring, it's not much different, the hot spring and dinner are worth it. I regret not leaving more time to enjoy this hotel because my schedule was too full. Next time I come to Aso, I will definitely come again and leave more time to enjoy it.

GGuest UserWhen we checked in, we were greeted and served with a welcome dessert and Japanese tea. The room was big in Japanese context with a split-level design and a courtyard. The room has all the amenities you would expect. We liked the settings of the ”talking room”, in which light music was played in the background. There are also coffee and tea available in the ”talking room”. Breakfast and dinner were truly delicious. Perhaps, the only downside is that the size of the onsen hot tub in the room is a bit small.
