This hotel is super convenient! It's right by Kumamoto Station; you just turn left after exiting and you'll spot it. Perfect for travelers using JR or Shinkansen. Plus, there's an electronics store and a mall right next door. It's a bit of a walk to Sakuramachi, about 20 minutes, but you can always hop on their streetcar. The room size is a bit small, and the bed takes up most of the space, making it feel a little cramped. Toothbrushes and toothpaste are in the bathroom, but other toiletries can be picked up at the front desk. If you want skincare samples, you'll need to ask the staff. There are coin-operated washing machines on B1, and it's 500 yen for a wash and dry cycle. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. They're always ready to help. I'd definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Kumamoto.

Hotel Nikko Kumamoto maintains very high standard of service. Greeters were always smiling at the hotel lobby and lift area. We were lucky to get a Room with Castle view. Location was perfect, right opposite Tsuruya Departmental Store and beside Shimotori shopping srreet. Breakfast spread was excellent. Highly recommended!

I really like this hotel. From the moment I parked my car, there were staff members helping to guide and confirm the parking space, accommodation name and country of the traveler. They also helped with the luggage. When I checked in, there was a staff member who could speak Chinese to help confirm (seemed to be *********). There were many staff members who seemed to have different nationalities. When I went in to confirm the reservation, they also gave me matcha and snacks. We booked the Hongye room on the first floor. The room was great and had its own hot spring, so I didn't have to go to the public hot spring. I could soak in it 24 hours a day. There was hot spring water circulating so I could soak in it whenever I woke up. The hotel has two hot spring houses that can be reserved, 40 minutes each time, and each room can make one reservation. The public bath is available at any time without reservation. However, since I have my own hot spring, I didn't go to the public bath or the hot spring house, so I don't know how it works. In addition, I have my own private room for dining and I have to write my name. It feels very noble (but it seems that only some room types have private rooms). Dinner was great, every dish was delicious (except dessert XD), the appetizers were exquisite and delicious, the sashimi was also very sweet, I thought the grilled fish would have a lot of bones, but it was not separated well, and finally we had the red beef shabu-shabu, the meat was tender and the soup was sweet. Breakfast is a large grilled salmon set with salad and hot spring tofu. There is also a self-service beverage bar and natto seaweed desserts outside. There is also all-you-can-drink Aso milk. Remember not to buy it here, just drink it for breakfast XD. The overall stay was great, the staff were friendly, I strongly recommend booking a room with one night and two meals and a hot spring, it's not much different, the hot spring and dinner are worth it. I regret not leaving more time to enjoy this hotel because my schedule was too full. Next time I come to Aso, I will definitely come again and leave more time to enjoy it.

We had a great stay at Kamenoi Hotel Aso Park. We booked a room in the South Building, which was spacious, clean, and had a large, comfortable bed. The hotel provides yukata robes in various colors, which was a lovely touch for guests to enjoy the onsen experience. ♨️ The onsen was large and relaxing — perfect after a day of exploring Aso. 🚗 Parking was very convenient, located right next to the hotel. Just across the parking area, there’s a 24-hour convenience store called Obentou Hirai offering ready-made bentos, hot meals, ramen, and udon — extremely convenient for late-night snacks or quick meals. 🍱 We chose a room-only package without meals, and in the morning, we visited the local souvenir and food center at Aso Station. It had a great selection of local foods and breakfast options, plus plenty of gifts and souvenirs to bring home. Overall, a comfortable stay with everything we needed nearby. Highly recommended if you’re exploring the Aso area!

Good if you like old school charm hotel, room and service. Castle view room was a disappointment - have to stand at the side of the window to actually see the castle :( Location was great and parking was onsite. There’s a driveway at the front of the hotel and from there, the staff guided us to their onsite parking. It’s as advertised JPY1000 per day but on day of checkout, parking is until 11.30am. After that, cheaper to park elsewhere (JPY100 for 15mins vs JPY200 for 2hrs at Kumamoto Castle).

The hotel's service was really good, but the facilities are seriously outdated. At ¥1200 per night without breakfast, I expected a much better stay. My biggest complaint is that the duvet didn't have a cover, only a sheet placed over it for hygiene, which made sleeping very uncomfortable. I didn't sleep well the first two nights, and by the third night, I couldn't stand it anymore. I talked to the hotel, and they finally provided a duvet with a cover, allowing me to get a good night's sleep. This definitely doesn't meet four-star room standards. As for the location, it's convenient enough to get to Kumamoto Castle by tram. However, there aren't many dining options around the hotel, making it inconvenient to eat out. I'd recommend the hotel's lunch buffet, which offers great value for money. If you're staying here, I suggest adding breakfast to your booking, as finding places to eat nearby is difficult.

Small but complete, the hotel. There are many facilities/activities such as table tennis, billiards, marshmallows, bars (free 1000 drink coupons), the fly in the ointment is that the room has only a small bathtub and no hot springs. Choose the most flat room-shaped left river view me, the scenery is good, it is a quiet small town, very recommended.

GGuest UserThis is our second time staying at FAV Hotel, and the overall experience was very pleasant. Firstly, the room design is very modern, giving it a comfortable feel. The interior color palette primarily uses warm tones, complemented by wooden decor, creating a cozy atmosphere. The room's layout is also very practical. The bunk bed design is especially suitable for family travelers; children can play on them, making it easier for parents. Additionally, the beds are extremely comfortable, ensuring we had a good night's sleep. In terms of space, the room is exceptionally spacious, and it provides plenty of charging ports. The room is equipped with a kitchenette and a washing machine, which is extremely convenient. The only minor drawback is the limited parking, with only three spaces available. However, there's a nearby parking lot which costs just 600 yen for the whole night. Furthermore, there's a convenience store within a one-minute walk. In summary, I was extremely satisfied with the design, comfort, and convenience of the rooms at this hotel. Highly recommended for family travelers!

MMiloMoWhen you arrive by car, the waiter is already waiting in the parking lot and you can communicate in Chinese, which speeds up the check-in process. The room faces the Kuma River and the scenery is beautiful. However, there are many residential areas nearby, and most shops and restaurants close very early, so you need to make reservations in advance. The downside is the hot spring. The outdoor hot spring on the 5th floor has a bathtub-like shape. The water is very dirty. I don’t know if it has any special ingredients, but it looks like dead skin. I saw Japanese little girls were scared by the hot spring water. Although the hot spring faces the river, it is next to the road with only a small shelter, so it can be easily seen by people on the street, and the privacy is not very good. Breakfast is a set meal. Rich and flavorful. There is sake tasting and the lounge area is very comfortable. And…slippers
