This was the best hotel of the three we stayed in on our trip to Japan.
The location was absolutely central to everything, and amenities were all close at hand. Close to Kyoto station meant that even when you were out all you had to do was finding a train or bus coming back to the station.
From the first view of the hotel inside we knew we were going to enjoy our stay.
The room blew us away when we opened the door, it was well laid out.
The service and food were exceptional, absolutely loved the ”Meat Theatre” this was an all you can eat and well worth the money. The staff were truly helpful at all times.
Exceptionally good value loved it and would recommend it to everyone we know that are going to Kyoto.
I was extremely satisfied with my stay, and the service was excellent. While there was some kind of pump or utility hub just outside the window, making it too noisy to open for fresh air, the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a beautiful view. Moreover, the room became perfectly quiet once the windows were closed. The room itself was very spacious, and I particularly appreciated the design of the large mirror in the vanity area.

I was very satisfied with my stay here! The hotel's location is super convenient, right across from Kyoto Station, just a few minutes' walk away. It's incredibly easy to get to all the major attractions in Kyoto by JR, Shinkansen, subway, or bus, making it perfect for a Kyoto trip.
Next to the hotel is AEON Mall, which is very convenient for shopping, dining, and buying souvenirs, and it has long operating hours, so you can easily browse and shop even after returning in the evening.
The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and courteous. Both check-in and check-out were smooth. For independent travelers, the transportation and amenities here are excellent.
I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto, and I'll definitely consider staying here again on my next trip!

This is a long-established hotel, very close to Kyoto Station, the city's main transportation hub. The rooms are spacious with large windows that let in plenty of light. For breakfast, you have a choice of two restaurants: one is a rotating restaurant on a high floor with great views, offering a set menu. The other is a buffet on the first floor with a very rich selection. The downsides are the lack of laundry facilities, the bathroom isn't wet/dry separated, and the room lighting is a bit dim.

Stayed for several nights in December — very good location for many attactions and Kyoto station in walking distance. Staff was very helpful with the luggage and treats, also warned about free calligraphy lesson in dinning area which was additional impression during my stay!

Five-star recommendation, the owner of the homestay is a very kind and friendly couple, suitable for friends who travel alone.
Facilities: There are two floors in total, with two bathrooms and two toilets. Most of the time, there is no need to queue. There are also many free snacks to eat. The walls are decorated with banknotes, coins from various countries, and hand-painted by guests.
Hygiene: The sanitation is cleaned every morning, and the public areas are very clean.
Environment: There is a small Japanese courtyard, which is beautiful on rainy days. The room is very warm. The location is not as convenient as Sijo, but it is okay to have buses around.
Service: This is important to say that the boss is really nice. I received a hand-painted card with my name on it the next morning. It was really touching to experience this warmth in a foreign country. Every day when I come back from outside, I will hear ”Welcome back” and see two smiling faces. My roommates have always been Chinese, and it is also a different experience to communicate with different friends every day. I left here today and changed my residence and felt a little uncomfortable.
Finally, I wish mama and papa good health and happiness.

The rooms were decent, clean, and the breakfast offered a wide variety of choices. The location is excellent, right across the street from Kyoto Station, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. The only downside was parking; getting into the garage was a bit of a hassle as we had to wait for a lobby attendant to operate the elevator every time.

Small, older hotel room. Older furniture and bathroom facilities. Limited places to put clothes and other items outside of suitcase. Nowhere convenient to leave suitcase open in room. Highly convenient location close to subway and Keihan train. Short walk to river, Gion, shopping area, and many restaurants and bars. Quite loud with window open at night.

The room was decent, and the location was good too, just a few hundred meters from the subway station, making it convenient to get anywhere. There's a convenience store and a drug store not far downstairs, and a nice cafe right below where I'd have my coffee and breakfast every day before starting my city walk (^◡^)っ☕️

Amazing
Everything was superb with the one exception, for an onsen hotel that have one of the selling point, in room onsen bath, the water was just regular hot water, why would I need to stay at an onsen hotel with in room onsen bath if any bathtub with hot water would do? Trip.com site did not specify that it wasn’t hot spring water. But luckily there was a better room with actual hot spring water supplied to the room available for upgrade, so I spent the extra to make my stay absolutely perfectly memorable.
Superb experience in Nohga. Everything here has been curated very carefully, you can tell the people or group behind this whole hotel concept really put in so much thought for their guests. Absolutely loved my entire stay here. I eat breakfast at their bakery every morning. Love their customisable bagels, mortadella sandwich, salted bun and cinnamon mochi donut. Chocolate mochi donut was a little too sweet. Americano and matcha latte were great. Thoroughly enjoyed their rooftop bar every night (opens till 12am). Awesome vibes, very romantic atmosphere. Staff are sweet, gives heat packs and blankets to keep us warm. Warm cocktails are a must during winters. You can order any random cocktails and they all taste so good. The distance from the train station to this hotel is quite a distance but I think the overall experience you get in this hotel makes the walk a worthwhile one. Def recommending this hotel to my friends who wanna come to Kyoto.
A superb hotel located very close to Kyoto Station. The staff is extremely polite and professional, providing excellent service. Luggage storage is available both before check-in and after check-out, which is very convenient. The all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet is outstanding and truly worthy of a 5-star palace. The room was very spacious with a beautiful view over Kyoto city. The room is fully equipped with everything you need: green tea and coffee facilities, refrigerator, TV, hair dryer, as well as daily amenities such as toothbrush, toothpaste, body sponge, body wash, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

Great
The location was great just 10 minutes walk from Kyoto Station East Exit.Next to a Avanti Mall that you can go to subway through underground route.Free drinks and snacks for hotel guest at lounge from 10am to 530pm. There is free luggage storage at level 1. Only thing is that room seem a bit dusty for those with sensitive nose. Bed and pillow is a bit soft for those that like firmer type.

The location is convenient, 1 stop away from Kyoto station and just a few mins walk away from Umeikoji Station. The facilities are good and clean at all times. They have themes for each level’s amenities, like that they have a snack, music, library area. They also have onsen! Snack bar serve alcohol too! Free flow! The ume sake is so good! Definitely will want to go back again. The staff are all so helpful and helped us to arrange for luggages to be sent to Tokyo for our next leg, no fuss at all.
We had a great experience here! The room was clean, and the daily cleaning services were thorough. We were happy that the counter service was friendly and polite and the staff spoke English. The beds were also so comfortable.
A Truly Exceptional Stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto Our family had a wonderful experience at The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, and we left with nothing but gratitude and happy memories. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless and heartfelt — the kind of genuine hospitality that makes a trip feel truly special. A huge thank you to Cecilia and Vinnie from the Guest Experience team, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and comfortable. Their warmth, attentiveness, and thoughtful gestures made us feel incredibly welcomed. A very special shout-out to Cecilia, who noticed my daughter’s love for Winnie the Pooh after our visit to Disneyland Resort. She prepared a beautiful card, a sweet message, and even a handmade Pooh origami and placed it in our room. It absolutely made our daughter’s day — such a thoughtful touch we will never forget. We also want to commend Yuki from the restaurant team for his warm and wonderful breakfast service each morning. His kindness and attention to detail set the perfect tone to start our day. The Ritz Kids adventure passport was a delightful surprise — engaging not only for our daughter but also enjoyable for us as parents. And of course, we loved the festive Christmas atmosphere, especially the beautiful Christmas tree and the amazing gingerbread house with the incredible aroma that filled the lobby. The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto truly exceeded our expectations in every way. We felt cared for, welcomed, and genuinely appreciated. We can’t wait to return again. Highly recommended for families and anyone seeking an unforgettable Kyoto stay.
