The environment and the sea view from the window are both beautiful. The hygiene is excellent, and there's a supermarket downstairs, which is very convenient for buying things. The only minor drawback is that using the washing machine costs extra, and there are no complimentary disposable toothbrushes or slippers.
The room was clean and tidy. We were able to wait in the lobby before check-in and enjoyed welcome drinks. We could also head to the beach or the pool.
There are two pools, including a kids' pool with two slides, which the children loved. Free iced lemonade was available in the pool area, which was very convenient. Just a heads-up, there were small lizards around the pool area, so be aware if you're not a fan.
Breakfast was quite substantial. Even though it was crowded, it was well-organized and didn't really affect our meal.
Overall, I'd recommend it for family leisure stays.
Everything is good..the room is clean and comfortable, the view is beautiful. The beach is behind the resort. Only the elevator had a big problem. It was too slow, and we waited 20 minutes but still couldn't go down. Full of people. We had to use the stairs to go down to the 15th floor.
The room was nice, but it didn't come with slippers or toiletries, so remember to bring your own. I think I arrived during a holiday because downstairs, there were Indians playing music, setting off fireworks, and celebrating all night long. đ
The hotel is a bit old, but I actually found the bed quite comfortable, unlike some reviews that mentioned sagging. It's in a great location for exploring; just a short walk around the corner and you'll find the colorful shophouses and plenty of local snacks. You'll need to grab a ride to get to Mural Street and the Peranakan Museum. Breakfast was a bit weak; you have to cook your own noodles, and when I went at 9:30 AM, they said they had run out of eggs, which the hotel definitely needs to improve on. Other services were pretty good though.
Fantastic experience! I hesitated a lot before booking, but I'm so glad I made the right choice. It's an established five-star hotel with excellent service and a rich variety of breakfast options. The best part is the swimming pool â storage, showers, bath, and sauna are all available, and the pool water is very clean. Our room had no strange smells, though we didn't spend much time there apart from sleeping. All the great food spots are within walking distance, and taxis can easily find the location. The front desk staff can communicate perfectly in Mandarin. Highly recommended!
Our first night was unfortunately not good. Our room was on the 6th floor, directly under the pool area and pool terrace. We could clearly hear kids running around and chairs being dragged late into the evening.
The sound insulation of the building also seems quite weak. We could hear the couple in the neighboring room talking very clearly, and they were noisy throughout the night, which resulted in a sleepless first night.
The next morning we spoke to the hotel staff, and they arranged another room for us in the main building. This room was much better, and after that we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay.
The air conditioning was quite noisy, so we had to turn it off at night.
On the positive side, the location is very nice. There is a very good food court right next to the hotel, and George Town is about a 25-minute Grab ride away.
Overall, after changing rooms the stay improved significantly, but soundproofing could definitely be better.
My bedroom wad super noisy, next to a road, I could hear the trafic all day long. It was better during the night.
The management gave me a quiet bedroom me for my second night as it was full for the first night.
The court was dirty but they sent someone to clean it, change the bedsheet with stains and repair the broken tap.
The bottles of shower soap are tricky as the straw is too short.
The bathroom can be locked from outside as you can see on pictures.
There are 2 marts next door, thai food and rĂ´ti stall. The bedroom doesn't look like the pictures I saw on the page.
The best hotel my family and I have stayed at in Penang. I truly love this hotel and the view from the room is absolutely beautiful. Thereâs no other choice for me whenever I come here. The room is spacious and very comfortable for a family vacation. đ
How do I put this? This Hilton offers decent value for money, but it wasn't ideal for someone like me who's a light sleeper. The first room they gave me had a constant humming noise â I'm not sure if it was the exhaust fan or a drainpipe. They did move me to another room where the noise was a bit quieter, but it was still present. On the positive side, the breakfast spread was very generous, and the overall environment and service were excellent. There's a skybridge that leads directly to the beach, and the pool was also very clean and enjoyable, with lots of kids playing there â my own child loved it. The only downside was that it got quite noisy at night. However, the hotel seems to be situated on a higher elevation, so it was wonderfully cool in the evenings. I barely used the air conditioning, as that would probably have been too noisy. Without the AC, it was a bit chilly in the early morning and late evening, but it would definitely be too hot during the day.

I hope golden sands could upgrade/update to faster check in procees. Been there few times but check in procees quite a hassle. Then i specifically booked 2 room with king bed but end up getting 1 room with king bed & the other 2 double bed. We did arrived late around 4.30pm but then still need to wait for the other room to be ready. Really consume lot of time. Plus, receptionist said will send me the key to the other room in 20mins. But 20mins nobody knock/call our room. So i called the counter & this indian lady said need me to come collect. I am way too tired, so told her NO because just now during check in they said will send the key to our room. Ahh really not a good start. They did send the key though. But 1 dissapointment led to another. Other than that, all good. I love everything about golden sands except for their service.
âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ Excellent Stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Batu Ferringhi I booked my stay through Trip.com and the whole experience was effortless. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the staff member who attended to me was genuinely warm and accommodating. I was also given a late checkout, which made my stay even more relaxing. One thing I really enjoyed was the welcome cookie. Itâs such a nice and thoughtful touch, especially when welcome drinks have become quite boring and predictable. The cookie felt unique and memorable. The lobby is spacious and inviting, with a beautiful view that immediately puts you in a good mood. My room was clean, comfortable and beautifully designed. Not long after I settled in, the hotel called to check if I needed anything. When I requested a toothbrush, they sent it up very quickly. The service throughout my stay felt attentive without being intrusive. Breakfast was excellent. There were plenty of choices and the staff were always nearby to help. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The gym is nice, well maintained and has a great view. The pool area is spacious, relaxing and perfect for winding down. Overall, I had a truly pleasant stay at DoubleTree Hilton Batu Ferringhi. Great service, great facilities and a very comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely come back again. #TravelReview #HotelReview #TripCom #DoubleTreeHilton #BatuFerringhi #PenangHotels #TravelMalaysia #HotelStay #HolidayVibes #TravelExperience #LuxuryStay #VacationMode #WanderlustMalaysia #GreatService #ResortLife
It is a beachfront hotel. There is a beach that kids can swim and play there . Itâs perfect for family. I like sit by the restaurant to watch the sunset and feel relaxed. The restaurant has breakfast but not variable enough. Beside has a friendly swimming pool for kids . There is a gym next to the pool. It is sea view gym but the equipment in there is not many choices. The hillside room is spacious and clean. But it is near to main road so you can hear the vehicle noise in the middle of night. The staff are very friendly and nice. If you like to eat the local food, there is a local food court in walking distance. There is variety of choices and delicious.
Had a great stay at Lone Pine Penang. The atmosphere was peaceful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the service was excellent. Perfect place to relax and unwind. Would definitely come back again.
It was a wonderful experience for my family and myself. We booked a family room with a amazing seaview. Just the view alone is worth the room rate. I could sit at the balcony in the evening and watch the sun sets. We spent 2day 1 night at Bayview Beach Resort and were more than happy. People are friendly and the environment is suitable for family with kids.
Hard Rock - Pleasant stay. Getting a superb experience from the Lagoon room. It is an amazing experience with the pool just in front of your room deck. Head into the pool for a swim anytime and back to the deck to chill on the bench. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, on the contrary, it is a bit disappointing on the concierge side as there is a contrast if comparing the two. Breakfast is great. A lot of selection and food is holding up its quality. However, the decorations and renovations seem to be a bit âoutdatedâ, but not sure if this is intentional. The pool and surrounding facility are great as well, with the beach feel with sand on the floor surrounding the pool. There are sections of the pool which have sand as well. One thing to take note of is they have lifeguards on duty.
