The hotel is great, we didn't regret choosing it! Meets all the declared standards!🙌🏼🙌🏼 The rooms are spacious, clean, the beds are large and soft, the pastel linen is of good quality. The rooms have all the accessories. The bathrooms are also very well equipped, there is a powerful Dyson hair dryer, a smart toilet. During our stay, we stayed in two types of rooms, one of them had a bathtub, which is great to have in the room, especially in winter.👍🏻👍🏻 The rooms are cleaned daily, there is also a kettle and tea bags, a Nespresso capsule machine and Peet's coffee capsules. In addition, drinks in the fridge (Coke Cola, Sprite, water). The hotel has a spacious restaurant. Breakfasts was very tasty and varied, like Chinese cuisine, also European cuisine, there is everything you need.👌🏼👌🏼 The hotel has a beautiful design. Also in the hotel lobby you can find a bar, in addition to a room where you can work/study. You can also find a map with sights, a good route for a walk around the city.😍😍 All the hotel staff are very nice people, at the reception, in the restaurant, and the cleaning team. We would also like to express special gratitude to the warmest staff at the reception - 甜甜 Tracy🌷🌷 She helped make our stay even better. We celebrated a birthday, she organized a room upgrade for us on that day, as well as a small gift - fruits. Beautiful city, super hotel, friendly people, we want to come back here again!🥰🥰

This hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to Ancient Culture Street and the Tianjin Eye. The Pacific Suite is perfect for a family of three, and adding an extra single bed with breakfast is quite a good value. The hotel's location is convenient for visiting various attractions in Tianjin's city center; it's very easy to walk to Ancient Culture Street. From JinGang Bridge downstairs, you can capture beautiful night views of the Tianjin Eye. The hotel facilities and services are also good, and breakfast was quite satisfying. Overall, I recommend it. However, while the suite's window offers a diagonal view of the Tianjin Eye, the main views from the living room and bedroom are of the old town. If you want to see the Hai River's night view, you should definitely opt for a river view room.

Great IBIS Hotel at Jinwan Plaza. I booked an internal room (no panorama view), yet, the room was spacious, comfortable and didn't feel claustrophobic. The staff members are very nice and helpful; although I only know one or two words in Chinese, I was able to easily communicate with the staff members through a translate app on my mobile. There is free WIFI throughout the hotel. Daily cleaning is provided. I booked breakfast at the hotel at my arrival and it was a great choice; breakfast buffet: cold and hot, sweet and savoury. The hotel is at Jinwan Plaza; just outside - literary, at the corner - there is JINWANGUANGCHANG metro station (Line 3). One stop and you are at the Train Station where you can catch the Line 1 to the airport (it takes about 15 - 20 mins to the airport). The train station is just behind of the hotel and on the other side of the river, it probably a 5 min walk passing through the beautiful Jerfang Bridge. The hotel is also perfectly located to visit some of the main attractions such as Porcelain House, the Italian Quarter and the Binjiang Shopping Street. In the evening have a walk by the river with it's amazing light show.

I can only say this is probably the worst St. Regis hotel in the entire country. As a luxury brand of the former Starwood Group and now Marriott International, St. Regis has always been a top-tier luxury hotel brand at every stage. And top-tier luxury and sophistication are never just about piling up hardware facilities. The St. Regis Tianjin is indeed ”getting on in years”; opened in 2011, its hardware facilities and conditions have naturally lost their luster and are no longer in their prime. But do soft services also have a life cycle? The sanitary conditions are as shown in the pictures. There were still food residues on the chaise lounge in the room. The changing room in the gym, especially the shower area and toilets, had unbearable hygiene conditions. Since it's a public area, I didn't take photos. What's most surprising and unacceptable is the service. St. Regis is famous in the hotel industry for its butler service, and it claims to be a 24-hour butler service, offering basic tea and coffee for 24 hours. Moreover, guests staying in any room type at a St. Regis hotel are supposed to enjoy butler service. However, the butler service at The St. Regis Tianjin seems to have been 'castrated'. When my late-night takeaway arrived at the lobby, I was told the butler was off duty and no one could deliver it to my room. If there's a 24-hour butler service, then what does ”butler off duty” even mean? Why not emulate business express hotels or other ordinary luxury brands that are not as prestigious as St. Regis, and procure delivery robots? At least that would ensure the most basic service. In this digital network era, everyone uses WeChat to improve communication efficiency and make life and work more convenient. So, the butler service at The St. Regis Tianjin also only exists in WeChat chat boxes. If the service of a luxury hotel can be delivered by typing, then the entire industry probably needs to redefine 'butler service' and 'service'. The number of St. Regis hotels in mainland China is not large, but it's enough for horizontal comparison. The older St. Regis Beijing, the slightly newer ones in popular cities like St. Regis Shanghai and St. Regis Chengdu, and the even newer St. Regis Changsha – every St. Regis hotel at least lives up to the brand's reputation in terms of service. But The St. Regis Tianjin is truly hard to praise. From check-in, paying the deposit, settling the room fee, the in-stay experience, to checking the bill details at check-out, The St. Regis Tianjin could learn from hotels like Atour and even Hanting under Huazhu Group. My local friends in Tianjin say that the service at high-star hotels in Tianjin generally isn't great. There's also a popular jest online: ”The St. Regis/Four Seasons/Ritz-Carlton/etc. with the best value for money are all in Tianjin.” One cannot simply lower the quality of service proportionally just because the room rates are lower compared to the same brand in other cities, can they? I will definitely visit Tianjin again, but I will certainly not choose The St. Regis Tianjin again.

The location of Holiday Inn Express Tianjin Heping is a huge plus! It's right next to a commercial district and a subway station, making getting around and shopping super convenient. The facilities are a bit old, showing their age, but overall it's clean and tidy, which doesn't affect the stay. The breakfast offers a wide variety, with hot dishes, main courses, and fruits all readily available and tasting great. The front desk service was especially thoughtful; check-in and check-out were efficient, and they even proactively offered tips for local sightseeing. It offers great value for money. If you're particular about older facilities, you might want to reconsider, but if you prioritize location, breakfast, and service, it's definitely worth recommending!

This hotel is a great location in Tianjin city and very convenient to get public transport and a few eateries nearby the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The cleaner lady is also friendly and helpful as well as listening to my personal request to clean my room at a convenient time. The receptionist staff is so awesome and amazing as she has upgraded my room with a deluxe bigger room with the panoramic city view in the east direction to watch sunrise from my room. I gave this hotel a top recommendation to everyone who wishes to stay here. I gave an outstanding rating for best value and service for the type of room I stayed for 4 days.

This was my first stay at the Banyan Tree Tianjin Haihe, and overall, the experience was quite good. **Service**: From the welcoming staff to the front desk personnel, the breakfast restaurant employees, and every staff member I encountered, everyone was incredibly enthusiastic, friendly, and kind. **Room**: The room size is quite large compared to other hotels in the same category. The separation of the living area and the bathing area is a bit unconventional, but the oversized bathtub was absolutely amazing! The scent on the guest room floors was also very pleasant. **Details**: The containers in the room had a nice texture. The patterns on the slippers and bathrobes, which I believe are extensions of the hotel's logo, were very well-designed and looked great. **Breakfast**: They even had milk skin tanghulu (candied hawthorn on a stick)!

The hotel boasts a superb downtown location, surrounded by a vast array of dining options, including local specialties like Jianbing Guozi. Directly opposite stands the historic Dengyinglou Restaurant; however, I wouldn't recommend it. We visited once to find it quite deserted, and to our surprise, they couldn't even prepare dishes like 'Eight Treasure Tofu.' For leisure, the Wudadao Historic Cultural Area and Minyuan Plaza 1902 Street—both culinary hotspots and popular Instagrammable spots—are just a short stroll away. Excellent shopping opportunities at Joy City (Heping District branch), IFS, Gili Building, and Binjiangdao are also conveniently within walking distance. The hotel rooms are spotlessly clean, and the bedding is fresh and odor-free. Despite its age, the hotel is remarkably well-maintained, a testament to their attention to detail. The service staff were excellent, and a major plus, especially for those driving, is the hotel's underground parking. Breakfast is a highlight, offering a rich buffet with a blend of Chinese and Western dishes, alongside local specialties such as Jianbing Guozi and Gaba Cai. Highly recommended!

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, close to everything, and transportation is super convenient – no issues with the subway or bus, and the traffic flow is good too. The rooms aren't new, but they're well-maintained, and exceptionally clean. Breakfast is very rich, and they're quick to refill. The front desk staff, especially one young man, provided excellent service, even helping to deliver luggage to my room. I went next door to enjoy a comedy show and had a very pleasant evening.

During New Year's Day, I had my first stay at the Astor Hotel in Tianjin, a hotel with a profound sense of history. While it had its commendable aspects, there were also numerous shortcomings that urgently need improvement. I was particularly disappointed with the hotel's facility maintenance and service management, and I am providing this feedback accordingly. First, let's discuss the hotel's advantages and highlights. The hotel boasts an excellent location right by the Haihe River, with a dazzling array of high-rise buildings across the bank. As night falls, the city lights create a vibrant, New York Manhattan-esque urban atmosphere, making for a superb night view. Transportation is also incredibly convenient; you can walk to Tianjin's core cultural and tourism areas like Jiefang North Road and the Five Avenues. The surrounding old buildings are rich in heritage and diverse in style, allowing you to fully experience the city's charm by strolling through them. Furthermore, the interior of the rooms maintains the hotel's historical tone, with a unique vintage design that showcases its heritage in every detail. The immersive experience during my stay was truly impressive. However, compared to its highlights, the problems exposed by the hotel are far more prominent, particularly in service management and facility maintenance. These issues are severely inconsistent with the hotel's historical reputation and positioning, which is unacceptable. In terms of service management, the overall service awareness was extremely weak, lacking the professionalism and etiquette expected of a high-end hotel. Only the front desk staff at check-in showed acceptable attitudes; the service experience in all other areas could be described as perfunctory: the foreign doorman did not proactively offer guidance or greetings, and I never received even a basic greeting from any hotel staff I encountered. Throughout my stay, there was a pervasive sense of coldness and detachment, completely disregarding the guest experience, which is entirely at odds with the hotel's brand character. Even more off-putting were the chaotic service issues in the hotel's museum. As a potentially chargeable ancillary venue, it should be an important place to showcase the hotel's history and culture and enhance guest experience. Yet, there were instances of staff dereliction of duty: two male and one female staff member were clustered together, chatting loudly and heedlessly even with visitors nearby. They even obstructed the projection video playback area for extended periods without proactively moving. Another male staff member was sitting on a museum sofa watching videos with the volume turned up so high that it drowned out the hotel's introductory video, severely disrupting visitors' experience and destroying the venue's tranquil atmosphere and cultural immersion. It's hard to imagine how such a level of service management could befitting of a high-end hotel with historical depth, and even harder to understand why a charged venue would tolerate such lax management and inappropriate service. Regarding facility maintenance, 'vintage' should never be an excuse for 'outdated facilities and lack of maintenance.' Various facilities in my hotel room clearly showed signs of inadequate maintenance, and oversights in detail severely diminished the overall guest experience: the towel rack was loose and wobbly, almost on the verge of falling off, posing a safety hazard; the sink faucet made noticeable abnormal noises when turned on and off, suggesting aging parts that haven't been replaced in time; switching shower head modes was very difficult and inconvenient, affecting daily use. Moreover, the wardrobe's space planning was highly unreasonable. While it's understandable to embed a safe within the wardrobe, it didn't adequately consider practical usage, directly occupying a significant portion of hanging space, making it inconvenient to store clothes. This highlights a perfunctory approach in both design and management—neither considering the practicality of facilities nor making timely adjustments, completely disregarding guest comfort. As a hotel steeped in historical heritage and held in high regard, the Astor Hotel Tianjin should have balanced the preservation of its historical charm with professional service and comprehensive facilities. However, during this stay, the lax service management and lack of facility maintenance not only failed to meet guest expectations but also damaged the hotel's brand reputation. I hope the hotel will address these issues, acknowledge legitimate guest feedback, strengthen staff service training and etiquette standards, improve its service management system, and thoroughly inspect and rectify all facility hazards. It should also carry out regular maintenance, optimize space planning and facility layouts to truly achieve 'a sense of history without feeling old, and historical depth with professional service,' living up to its brand legacy and guests' trust.

DDr. Oscar## Review of Homestay in Tianjin / 天津民宿评价 I recently had the pleasure of staying at a wonderful homestay in the 杨柳青 area of Tianjin, and I can't recommend it highly enough. As a stressed entrepreneur and doctor traveling from Shanghai, this trip was a much-needed break for me, and the homestay exceeded all my expectations. 我最近有幸住在天津杨柳青地区的一家很棒的民宿,我强烈推荐这里。作为一名从上海来的压力很大的企业家和医生,这次旅行对我来说是一段急需的休息时间,而这家民宿远远超出了我的预期。 The 杨柳青 area is incredibly peaceful, offering a serene environment that is perfect for reflection and deep thinking. It's a great escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, providing a tranquil oasis where I could relax and recharge. 杨柳青地区非常宁静,提供了一个适合反思和深思的安静环境。这里是远离城市喧嚣的绝佳之地,提供了一个可以放松和充电的宁静绿洲。 The design of the homestay is very traditional, showcasing beautiful elements of Chinese architecture. For foreigners wanting to experience authentic Chinese design and culture, this is a fantastic place to stay. Every detail seemed thoughtfully considered, from the cozy furnishings to the tasteful decor. It felt like a home away from home, which is exactly what you need when you're looking to unwind. The hosts were exceptionally welcoming and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. Their hospitality added a personal touch that made my stay even more enjoyable. They were attentive and always ready to assist with anything I needed, which I truly appreciated. 主人非常热情,从我到达的那一刻起就让我有宾至如归的感觉。他们的热情好客增添了个人色彩,使我的住宿更加愉快。他们非常细心,总是准备好提供我需要的任何帮助,这让我非常感激。 If you check my other reviews, you'll see that I often travel by train to various cities from Shanghai and stay at different places. Out of all the places I've stayed, this homestay in Tianjin stands out as one of the best. I am confident that I will return here in the future whenever I need a peaceful retreat. In summary, if you're looking for a comfortable, beautifully designed homestay in a tranquil area, with welcoming hosts, this is the place to be. GGuest User👌Had a wonderful two night stay at this hotel. Relocated there after a booking mishap caused us to change hotels since the hotel we were staying at in the city became overbooked. We decided to move to this one since it was closer to the airport and we had an early morning flight originating from Binhai (2days after) 👌We had a beautiful room for a family of 3( business room)The room was exceptionally clean and also quite spacious. Facilities are excellent with an on-site laundry room that allows self-service. We didn’t have breakfast since we slept in. 👌Received a very warm welcome from Liu at the front desk, check in was smooth and quick. We had a small issue in the room about noise from upstairs but she resolved it and explained the reason why and apologised for the inconvenience. 👌In the morning, two of us had to return to Beijing for a meeting, the lovely and kind ladies on duty Pang, who spoke English and Wang helped us organise transportation to the airport so we could get the subway train ( there’s a direct subway to Tianjin railway station originating from the airport ) to Beijing. While we waited for the car, they offered us refreshments (tea and water) 👌The driver Wang was so kind and spoke English and helped advise us on the train schedules so we wouldn’t miss the train back since we were returning back from Beijing to Tianjin in the evening to stay the night and leave for our morning flight. 👌They also organised a pick up from the airport when we arrived back to Tianjin late at night to the hotel. 👌The stay was made awesome and comfortable due to the impeccable and excellent service, kindness and eye for detail shown by the staff. 🥳Kudos to Ms Pang, Ms Wang , Mr.Wang and Ms Liu who made our stay even more comfortable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👌The hotel is near the airport and is suitable for travellers who have flights at Tianjin International airport and want to avoid the commute from the city. There are restaurants downstairs as well if you arrive late and need a meal. Nearby surroundings looks like residential area so works for those looking for a quiet stay ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

LloujylAmazing stay at this hotel - I would travel to Tianjin again for this hotel alone. First of all, I want to thank the lovely staff at the reception for helping me find my parcel on my last day. They were super helpful and helped me call the delivery man to guide them to the hotel, and when the parcel arrived, they sent it to my room via robot - insane service that only seems to happen in China! The hotel itself is located in a great area, it is a bit tucked/hidden from the main road but there is big enough signage to show the way for taxi drivers. Ordered multiple ******* and they never failed to reach us. It’s a short walk away from the famous Shizilin Bridge (Lion Forest Bridge) where you can see the old grandpa’s swimming in the river during the day. It’s also got a nice view of the Tianjin Eye and another famous bridge, Jingang Bridge. Could see it from our hotel room window on the 13th floor. The lobby is very grand and has ample seating with private booth style seats for calls etc. The room itself was modern and clean. Mattress was comfortable and they have one memory foam pillow for each bed. TV was large with many channels, there was also a large Bluetooth speak bar which was a great addition. The bathroom was big enough to dance in! Electric toilet and huge shower room - both separated. Free laundry room, with detergent provided. You can also request the hotel to load your laundry for you but we did not need that service. Breakfast was good and simple. It’s situated on the 16th floor, same with the gym and laundry room. On checkout they gifted a Tianjin fridge magnet, which saved me from purchasing one myself x One thing to note, they don’t have signs for housekeeping in the room, so if you require cleaning service you can let the front desk know before you leave the hotel. But they tell you that upon check-in. Have always wanted to try the Crystal Orange hotel chains, so glad it was this one! Cant wait to visit Tianjin again 💕

GGuest UserThe hotel is situated in the suburbs, but there is a metro station within 500 m from the hotel. It will take you about 1.5 h to get to the city center by metro or about 50 minutes by taxi (DiDi). Neat the metro there is a big shopping center where you can find everything you may potentially need (those desserts from Holiland are amazing!) The breakfast is very tasty and you can definitely find something tasty to eat both from local cuisine as well as some Western-style things. The room was clean and spacious. I enjoyed the stay and had a possibility to relax.
