I used this hotel for a business trip. I had booked it expecting a regular business hotel, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a good place to stay. I appreciated the various amenities provided, such as bath salts and a hairdryer.

Best stay in Kyoto, staffs are all so nice & welcoming. Morning breakfast is super good, with whole day coffee and best matcha serving from the machine! Night time they serve ramen, ice cream and drinks. All guest dress in their onsen clothes walked around, took turns to enjoy the massage chair, sit around and chat. What a good experience! Laundry is free!! dryer costs about 100yen for 20mins, 200yen for 40mins, what a deal!

This is a long-established hotel, very close to Kyoto Station, the city's main transportation hub. The rooms are spacious with large windows that let in plenty of light. For breakfast, you have a choice of two restaurants: one is a rotating restaurant on a high floor with great views, offering a set menu. The other is a buffet on the first floor with a very rich selection. The downsides are the lack of laundry facilities, the bathroom isn't wet/dry separated, and the room lighting is a bit dim.

Very satisfied. The transportation isn't super convenient, but we had a private car, so it wasn't a big issue. The room was spacious, service was good, and breakfast was rich. I would choose to stay here again next time I'm in Kyoto.

The room is big and it has all the amenities eg. TV, Big bed, jacuzzi, well equipped toilet, etc. All the toiletries are beyond our needs. Movies are free and breakfast are really cheap. The only drawback is the nearest metro station is 1 km away. But the room is value for money. Highly recommended.

The hotel is located in a very convenient area, making it easy to get around and explore the surroundings. There are many shops, restaurants, cafés, and convenience stores within walking distance, which was extremely helpful during the stay. Public transportation is also easily accessible, saving time when travelling to different attractions. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, and the room provided enough space to relax after a long day. Housekeeping did a good job of keeping everything tidy. Basic amenities were provided, and everything worked well throughout the stay. Overall, the combination of a great location and a comfortable room made this hotel a good choice. It is suitable for both short and long stays, especially for travellers who value convenience and accessibility. I would consider staying here again and would recommend it to others looking for a hotel in a good location with many nearby amenities.

A very standard Fresa Inn. If you're a member, you can check in at 2 PM and check out at 12 PM. The room is more than enough for one person, and all the amenities are provided. The staff's English is quite good, and they even have a handheld translation device. Exiting the hotel, turn right, and you'll find Exit 4 of Shijo Subway Station, with a very convenient elevator entrance. Turn left, and you're at Daimaru Department Store. To go to Osaka, you can take the Hankyu Railway directly, no need to go to Kyoto Station first. Fresa Inn is my favorite business hotel brand in Japan, highly recommended!

I stayed for 4 nights from January 4 to January 8, 2026. From the hotel, you can walk to Nijo Castle in about 10 minutes. There are many small convenience stores nearby (7-Eleven and the like), as well as two large supermarkets — Life is open until midnight, which is a huge plus. You can buy nice gifts for friends and family late in the evening without wasting daytime hours. The transportation access is great too: within a few minutes' walk there's a subway station and a JR line (convenient for coming from the railway station), and right next to the hotel there's a bus stop. This is important because Kyoto's sights are scattered all over the city, and you often need to use public transport or taxis. Speaking of taxis. Twice I asked the reception to call me a taxi, and both times the staff helped me — a huge thank you to them! It was especially important on the first day: thanks to a taxi, I made it to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in time and explored it without rushing. Check-in was very quick, and the staff explained where everything was. The room was quite spacious — or maybe it just felt that way. I comfortably unpacked my suitcase and took out everything I needed without feeling cramped. The room had all the essentials, and there were kettles near the elevator that you could take to your room if needed. I did, and had some tea before bed (on the first floor, you can grab a free tea bag if you don't have your own). The air conditioner worked for both cooling and heating — which was very useful on some evenings. Honestly, I only used the hotel to sleep, and it was perfectly fine. Every morning, breakfast is served on the first floor. To be honest, I expected something simple since the room rate was quite affordable. That's why the breakfast was such a pleasant surprise! My eyes wandered every morning at the variety of delicious food! A huge selection. Every day I had rice with various toppings, amazing salmon, cod, and various vegetables (the okra here was especially good). There's a small smoking room on the first floor with good ventilation. My overall impression of the hotel is extremely positive. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto.

The breakfast was very delicious and had a wide variety of choices. Everything tasted great and I never got bored of it even after a few days. The onsen was also very comfortable and relaxing — it was the perfect way to unwind after a long day. I also really liked the shampoo and bath amenities provided by the hotel; they smelled amazing and made my hair feel very smooth. Another nice touch was that the hotel provided free laundry washing, although the dryer required a small fee. They also offered free ramen at night, which was a really nice service, but I was too full to try it at the time. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back again!

GGuest UserFound some hair under the bed that wasn't vacuumed before checking in, didn't fully take all our rubbish. Decent place to stay at location wise but very small space for a family (especially in the ”king deluxe room”). Only had 2 towels too despite there being 4 of us.

GGuest UserFacilities: My only complaint is that the king-size bed in the king room is made of two single mattresses pushed together, and after sleeping on it for a while, a gap forms between them. Hygiene: The hygiene is excellent. Environment: The surrounding area is very quiet, and there are convenience stores not too far away. Service: The service attitude is great, and the hotel even offers free shuttle service to Kyoto Station.

DDreamscomeTrueVery nice ambience and a new luxurious hotel in Kyoto close to the 清水寺。 Restaurant choices are quite limited inside the hotel complex but they have got a great spa with excellent service staff. Down the hill should be some international restaurants at Park Hyatt Kyoto another luxurious five star hotel. Breakfast bento boxes not too appetising and not much food selections for in room dining as well. But the neighbourhood was quiet and nice.

GGuest UserVery convenient location, close to Kyoto Station. The staff were super friendly and helpful, always ready to answer questions. The environment was lovely, and they even provided pajamas in the room. Breakfast was delicious and varied. Plus, they offer free luggage storage after check-out, which is a big plus!

GGuest UserThis hotel offers incredible value for money! It's super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Kyoto JR Station. The streets on both sides of the hotel are lined with small restaurants and pubs, and there's a medium-sized drug store (Don Quijote) at the corner. The room was clean and tidy, and we could see Kyoto Tower right from our window. I especially recommend the hotel's shampoo – it's really good! 😊 The room was spacious enough for two adults and two 28-inch suitcases, with plenty of room to spare. There are USB charging ports by the bed. There's no kettle in the room, so you'll need to bring your own and an adapter. The breakfast on the first floor is a set meal, costing around 60 RMB per person. Highly recommended!

KKR MichaelIt is located right opposite Kyoto Station (closer to the Kintetsu Kyoto side). You can walk between the station and hotel within 5 minutes. It is very convenient. Do note that the hotel is located on the south of the station (basically on the opposite side of Kyoto Tower) . So you need to exit through the Hachijo Exits and cross the road, instead of the more commonly used Central Exit. The hotel room itself is not big, but sufficiently convenient, the charging point is right beside your bed. There is a co-working space on the first floor, with charging ports and WiFi access. So it is a good spot if you need to carry out some short online meetings.

GGuest UserThis place is AMAZING for its price point. Everything is sparkling clean and quite new. The location is amazing as it is just next to the metro station. It is also quite close to the bus station and that's important as buses are way more convenient than trains in Kyoto. For food, there are cheap franchised restaurants around and 7-eleven right opposite. In terms of service, the staff there are friendly, polite, and accommodating. The shared bathrooms and the bedrooms are clean. There is nothing more I could ask for! AMAZING STAY.

LLize from South AfricaWe stayed at Hotel Gracery Kyoto for two nights and overall had a very comfortable stay. The hotel has two sections, and we stayed in the South building. The room was very clean, and the space was used efficiently, which is typical for Japan. The bathroom layout was a bit unusual. The toilet and shower are separate, which is convenient, but the toilet cubicle itself is extremely small. The shower is positioned in an odd space between the bath and what seems to be the shower floor, and the shower head cannot be adjusted up or down. That said, the water pressure and temperature were excellent, which made up for the layout. Bottled water was provided on the first day, which was appreciated. The TV, however, was very limited with only Japanese channels and no access to Netflix or other streaming services. The location is excellent. The hotel is right by Nishiki Market and surrounded by shops and restaurants, with multiple subway lines nearby. There are also many fantastic local restaurants in the area, which we highly recommend, especially when the market gets overwhelmingly busy. The hotel provides a wide range of amenities in the lobby, including face wash, toner, lotion, razors, combs and mouthwash. While convenient, the large amount of individually packaged items does not feel particularly environmentally friendly. We checked out the breakfast one morning but decided not to purchase it as it was 2750 yen per person, and there are plenty of better and more affordable options nearby. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and we also appreciated that the hotel offers free umbrella use on rainy days, which was a thoughtful touch. One downside was the room cleaning timing. We left early in the morning and only returned after 3pm, but the room was still being cleaned when we got back. We were asked to wait around 30 minutes, which was quite inconvenient after a long day when we wanted to rest, shower and freshen up before heading out again. Overall, a clean and well-located hotel with a few minor design quirks and service timing issues, but still a very pleasant stay.
