This hotel exceeded our expectations. They accommodated us with early checking and had excellent guest services. The rooms were clean and spacious. The resort is located on a golf course which my husband loved! They also have a great spa! The breakfast was great and they have good other food options with a variety of on site restaurants. We would definitely recommend.

The look of the hotel from the outside is so misleading. We passed by the hotel before check in and did not have good vibes about it. But once we entered it was like in a different place altogether! The ambience and feel is so elegant and beautiful. The way to the rooms are like secret entrance to another realm! So cool! The room is so welcoming and gorgeous. Loved our stay and wished that we were there longer!

First, all the check in counters were open but still the check in queue was long. I was queued for almost 1 hour just to check in. Need to better system in check-in. Second, hotel policies stated no outside food. If guest order food outside, food rider only able to delivered until guardhouse and guest need to walk out and take the food themselves. To minimize the hassle, we opt for in-room dining for our 2 nights stay. First night was good. Second night some of the menu are OOS such as pizza and even mushroom soup. Third, another incident on our 2nd night, fire alarm was rang on 12+am. Lift was unable to use as well and fire symbol was shown on the lift panel. Guests started panicked and going down using stairs. Me and my family (along with my 7months pregnant sister) decided to go down to lobby using stairs, since there are no staff was seen to inform us what has happened. Once we reached lobby, only there is a staff informed is a false alarm. For this kind of situation, staff should be act faster since its related with safety. Other than that, we've enjoyed the view from our room, the facilities that are offered. We're enjoyed the pizza on our first night, thats why we want to repeat on 2nd night and too bad its not available. Sutera Harbour is one of the well known resort in Kota Kinabalu, a place to catch good sunset view, and I hope they're able to improve their services and better safety/security.

The rooms were impeccably clean, and the setting was lovely with abundant greenery (we heard the owner designed it himself!). It's evident they put a lot of thought into creating a great guest experience. The service was exceptional, truly incredible value. Da Niu was wonderful; he meticulously arranged everything for us, and we even had some great conversations with him (his Chinese is fantastic, by the way! 🎉). The hotel staff were all incredibly friendly and constantly smiling – because when you're on vacation, happiness is key! Highly recommended. The value for money is superb, far outclassing hotels in town, which are often dirty, chaotic, noisy, and frankly, quite unappealing. Here, it's wonderfully quiet, perfect for a peaceful night's rest after a day of exploring. And crucially, they offer pick-up and drop-off service. This place truly is the undisputed king of value for money! I'll definitely be back on my next visit. Trust me, it's an absolutely fantastic experience!

I recently stayed at Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was well-maintained, making our stay comfortable and relaxing. The location, however, is quite isolated, as the resort is located in Karambunai Peninsula, about 30–40 minutes from Kota Kinabalu city. It’s perfect if you want a peaceful escape by the beach, but not so convenient if you’re looking to explore the city or find nearby restaurants—options outside the resort are very limited and quite far. The service was excellent, with very friendly and helpful staff who always greeted us warmly and tried their best to accommodate our requests. However, I noticed that the resort has become quite crowded lately, likely due to the recovery period after COVID-19 when businesses are starting to pick up again. Some areas are still under renovation, and it was clear they are in the midst of improving their facilities. The amenities were good, with a beautiful beach, swimming pools, spa services, and recreational activities that kept us entertained throughout our stay. Overall, Nexus Karambunai is a lovely place for a peaceful beach vacation, but be prepared for the distance from town and the current renovation works. Hopefully, once the recovery process is complete, the resort will be even better.

Amazing location for the sunbears and Orangutan Sanctuary, just 5 minutes on foot. The pool here is a nice relief from the heat, however there are only about 10 sunbeds and then some seating along the wall, so at times there was nowhere to sit and relax by the pool which was a shame. The room was big, the balcony overlooked jungle type gardens and lots of wildlife could be seen/heard. Tea&coffee was available in the rooms, along with bottled water each day. Food in the restaurant was average. The gardens were beautiful, would stay again.

RRonald Willie BinatiEverything is great except for the lighting in Room 568, why is it so dim? I was straining my eyes on my laptop because lighting wasn't that great. Bed is comfortable and bathroom spacious enough. The big fridge was a bonus, the same with the pantry. Recommended stay as this hotel is very near to Imago Shopping Mall

GGuest UserHotel Review Positive Points: 1. Air-conditioning was very effective and kept the room comfortable throughout the stay. 2. Great window view – beautiful sea and jetty scenery that adds to the relaxing atmosphere. (see my attached picture) 3. Excellent location – conveniently close to eateries and the jetty, making it easy to get around. 4. Reasonably priced in-house food – offers good value for money for guests who prefer to dine in. 5. Complimentary extra bottled water was provided upon request, which was appreciated. 6. Friendly and helpful staff across all departments – from housekeeping, café, and maintenance to the front desk. Everyone was courteous and attentive. 7. Special mention to the chef – a very kind and gentlemanly person. On our first day, we ordered 6 fried eggs for breakfast, assuming they were included. The chef initially didn’t inform us of the RM2 charge per egg and kindly did not charge us for them. When we later tried to order again, he politely informed us about the charge. We truly appreciated his honesty and kind gesture. 8. very nice grilled meat at the roof cafe (5th floor). The promo price is 5 sticks for rm9.9 . worth to eat! --- Areas for Improvement: 1. Limited breakfast buffet selection – mainly local dishes such as chicken, eggs, vegetables, rice, or noodles. While the food was tasty, there were no options like fresh milk, cereal, or egg station. Fruit choices were also limited to just bananas every day. 2. Window leakage during heavy rain – rainwater entered the room. However, the staff responded promptly and mopped the floor immediately. 3. No robe hooks in the bathroom – makes it inconvenient to hang clothes or towels. 4. Shortage of bath towels – clean towels were only available in the late afternoon after laundry was returned. 5. Extra blanket charge – an additional around rm50-60 was required if requesting one more blanket, which felt a bit expensive. 6. Low water pressure in the shower – the water flow was quite weak, making the shower experience less enjoyable. 7. Housekeeping quality needs improvement – there was sand in the room, and although we informed the staff, it was not cleaned properly even after the feedback. Extra Tip for Travellers: There’s no laundry shop in Semporna town, so do remember to bring enough clothes for your stay.

JJnicerI had a pleasant stay at Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu. The location is excellent — within walking distance to the waterfront, night market, and shopping malls. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a nice view of the city. Breakfast had a good variety, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. It’s a great choice for both business and leisure travelers. I would definitely stay here again.

LLeeOliviaNo regrets staying here and travelling out 40mins each morning to where we need to be. 1 yr old Inn is clean and staff are friendly and served well. Clean room, breakfast is made to order (select from set). View is amazing. Only downsize is that early in the morning, you can hear the cars running up and down the bypass if your room faces the main road. Comfortable stay and will choose to stay again in future. There is a convenience store, laundromat and even ATM and cafe at the Inn.

GGandingAmenities in the room, such as hair dryer, iron, ironing board, kettle, cups, 3 in 1 coffee, tea, drinking water, towels, conditioning shampoo, shower gel and prayer mat for Muslims are available. There is no dental care kit, so bring your own. Otherwise, you'll have to drive a bit to buy one. It was my third time in Kundasang, so we rented a car and drove to the location. The road to the location is quite challenging if you're not used to the rural road. There are plenty of parking spaces there. I also saw guests with private tour guides who drove them around. I think that's a good idea, too. I booked the room with the mountain view, but the weather was not on my side. The mountain was in view very early in the morning when it was still dark, and then it was covered in clouds for the rest of the day. There is no aircon but a cute ceiling fan we didn't use because it was already cold. However, I wish I could open the windows without letting the bugs in. There were huge spiders making their webs near my window, and I dare not open it. The beds are okay - not the comfiest and only one rather flat pillow for our heads. We slept well nonetheless. We spent most of our time outside the room unless it's to shower or sleep. There's a cafe where we took our dinner to the outside dining area. The tables and chairs were scattered around so we had to arrange them ourselves. There is hot water, but at around 7am, the shower runs cold even with the water heater turned on. Could it be that everyone is showering at the same time? A simple breakfast is served at the cafe for the guests. When I was there, they had fried mi hun, French toast, sausages, baked beans, and eggs. There were two types of cereal. A bread station where you can toast your bread. Only white bread was available. Drinks were orange cordial, coffee, and tea. They replenish the food if finished, so don't worry about getting to the breakfast a bit late. The best thing about the whole trip was the booking, checking in, and checking out was hassle-free. Also, if you love flowers, walk around the place and admire their hydrangeas.

GGuest UserThe room was quite spacious, equipped with a lounge chair and a desk. While the bed might be a bit snug for three people, it fortunately had wheels, making it easy to move. The facilities felt a little dated. A significant service oversight was that despite booking for three adults, all amenities were only provided for two, which was not ideal. The sea-view room offered a good view from the window, perfect for watching the sunset. The hotel's swimming pool is located on the ground floor, right next to a city road, which made its location a bit less desirable. However, the hotel's overall location is excellent, with famous shopping malls and food streets all nearby. The gentleman at the front desk was also very helpful. Overall, I was quite satisfied.
