Anastasia.TThe rooms were clean, but very small with low ceilings. Upon arrival, there was only one small carton of milk in the fridge, perhaps because the room was prepared earlier, for which I'm very grateful to the front desk staff. A big plus is the hotel pool, which has a sandy entrance on one side. However, the pool is shallow, so adults need to be careful not to scrape their feet on the rough bottom. Late check-out is available for an extra fee, which is very convenient if you're traveling with children and have a late flight. The airport is just 10 minutes away. Cairns Aquarium is nearby, and there's a large shopping center three blocks away. The promenade is two blocks away. Overall, it's good value for money, but don't expect perfect cleanliness or service.

Anonymous UserExcellent hotel in a great location. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. The warm chocolate cookie at check-in was delicious and a lovely welcome after our flight. Convenient for the Esplanade, restaurants and tours. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
We also enjoyed the beautiful views, relaxing atmosphere and convenient facilities. Everything made our trip more enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cairns.

J小米I accidentally booked this hotel and found out it was non-cancellable when I tried to cancel, so I had no choice but to stay. Overall, it was okay; the room was a bit small but quite tidy and clean. The front desk staff were very friendly. The restaurant was under renovation during our stay, so we were given vouchers to have breakfast at the hotel across the street. Clearly, for an extra AUD$80 a day, we could have stayed somewhere much better. The hotel hallways had no air conditioning and were very stuffy and hot. However, there was a free coffee machine downstairs with complimentary coffee. The swimming pool looked dirty though, and no one was using it. The location is a bit far from the Reef Terminal, about a 17-minute walk.

XHDmamaChoosing The Benson Hotel for my Cairns trip was a brilliant decision! The location is absolutely superb – super close to the airport, just about a 15-minute taxi ride. It’s also only a 10-minute walk to the Lagoon Pool and the Marina, making it incredibly convenient for an evening stroll along the waterfront to the pool for a swim, or heading to the Marina to catch the sunset.
The surrounding area is incredibly well-equipped too: right outside the hotel, you’ll find a huge variety of restaurants, from local seafood specialties to Asian cuisine, so you can try something new every day. There’s also a large supermarket nearby, perfect for grabbing fruits, snacks, or travel essentials. Shopping here gets full marks!
The hotel rooms are spacious and bright, with all the amenities you could need, including air conditioning, making it feel just as comfortable as home. The front desk service was exceptionally thoughtful and attentive; they patiently recommended nearby attractions and restaurants, and any issues were resolved quickly.
In short, this stay far exceeded my expectations. I will definitely choose The Benson Hotel again on my next visit to Cairns! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for convenient travel and comfortable accommodation – you won’t be disappointed!

Anonymous UserStayed for 2 nights with a friend. The staff were very kind and helpful! Even if you don't speak English, you can still communicate (there are Japanese-speaking staff too).
The room had small ants, so it might bother some people. However, the bed and bathroom were clean.
We arrived early in the morning and were allowed to wait in the guest room until our tour started!
I'll definitely stay here again.

Guest UserThe staff were incredibly friendly. Also, I felt very secure and at ease knowing that a card key was required to enter both the hotel entrance and the rooms, which is a great security feature. The $10 dinner at the attached pub, which was pizza when I went, had a crispy crust and was absolutely delicious – I was extremely satisfied.

Aloha1231The location is fantastic. We arrived very early in the morning, and the front desk was dark with no staff around. After a while, a tour group arrived, and then a staff member came out. The room was spacious, and the breakfast buffet was more affordable than other hotels.

Guest UserThe location is super convenient, just a few minutes walk to the seaside promenade. Getting to the pier is also a breeze, about fifteen minutes, and you get to enjoy plenty of ocean views along the way. It's also very close to Cairns city center.

The facilities are too poor. I live on the first floor and found that the blinds were not closed tightly at night, so all the light leaked in. The lights in the yard were so bright that I couldn't sleep all night.

The only regrettable hotel in Australia and New Zealand.
Let me talk about the advantages firstly: it is close to the beach, only a few minutes walk, you can walk, no beach, and the sea water is cloudy. Walk to the city center for about half an hour and there are buses.
Besides the disadvantages: the hotel is old, the Wi-Fi signal is often not available, the room is crammed, the kitchen operation table is next to the bed, and you have to be very careful when washing. There was also a striking warning-1,000 fines for triggering a smoke alarm. The swimming pool downstairs was completely unused, with leaves and unknown objects floating in it.
The most frustrating thing is that the ants on the wall are all in the tea cup after returning for a while. At night I crawled into my neck!
Will not go again.
