I rarely write hotel reviews, but 馨香雅苑四合院(北京天安门王府井店) truly deserves one. From the moment we arrived, it already felt special. The hotel is located right near the heart of Beijing, making it incredibly convenient to visit places like Wangfujing and Tiananmen. But what makes this place unforgettable is not just the location, it’s the experience. The moment you step inside the courtyard, you feel like you’ve entered a peaceful traditional Chinese residence. The decoration and renovation are beautifully done, full of authentic Chinese charm while still being comfortable and elegant. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and enjoy the atmosphere. Another highlight was the breakfast and afternoon high tea. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Sitting in the courtyard enjoying tea felt like a small luxury during our trip. But what truly made this stay exceptional was the people. The staff here are genuinely warm and welcoming. I especially want to thank 海宁. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Her hospitality made us feel less like guests and more like friends visiting her home. Honestly, a simple rating system cannot fully describe how good this place is. For the price you pay, the service and care you receive go far beyond expectations. If I ever return to Beijing, there is no question where I will stay, it will be here again. To anyone planning a trip to Beijing and looking for a place with character, warmth, and unforgettable hospitality, I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Our family of four absolutely loved staying at this courtyard hotel! The exterior has a wonderful ancient charm, but the rooms are modern, clean, and incredibly comfortable. We stayed for three nights, and the overall experience was excellent. The three young women working there were so warm and welcoming. As a foreign tourist, they even called me the night before to confirm my check-in time. My flight arrived very early, and they let me in first thing in the morning and offered me a hot breakfast – both the beef noodles and zhajiangmian were delicious. It was incredibly thoughtful. The outdoor tea brewing around the stove was also a highlight; my mom especially enjoyed the roasted sweet potatoes, sugar cane, pecans, and groundcherries. They even brought us warm milk in the evenings, which was such a heartwarming touch. The location is great, close to Wangfujing and the Forbidden City, making it very convenient for taking a taxi. There's also a fantastic coffee shop right next door. The overall environment is unique, and the service is incredibly attentive, making it perfect for families and foreign visitors. I've already recommended it to my relatives who are visiting Beijing next month, and if I ever come back, I'll definitely stay here again!

Nestled in a red-brick, green-tiled courtyard right by Wangfujing, I truly unlocked the most authentic old Beijing afternoon tea experience. The moment I stepped in, the courtyard's elegance captivated me. Blue brick walls, wooden tables and chairs – even the breeze carried a leisurely tune. The staff, especially a lovely lady, was incredibly attentive, from seating us to refilling our tea, making us feel right at home, like visiting a friend. Staying in a *siheyuan* (courtyard house) during a snowfall is a must! As someone from the south, seeing snow for the first time filled me with joy. We warmed ourselves by the fire in the tea room, ate roasted sweet potatoes, and watched the snowflakes dance outside. Such beautiful moments are meant to be savored. Beyond the amazing ambiance, there were cute little parrots in the courtyard – lively and friendly, instantly melting away all my fatigue. The afternoon tea setup was truly thoughtful: a teapot warming over a small stove, alongside warm oranges and pastries. The fruit platter had sweet watermelon and crisp green grapes, and the nuts and small desserts were delicate and delicious. Sitting on the terrace, basking in the sun and sipping hot tea, I felt a profound sense of tranquility amidst the bustling city. Breakfast also deserves praise – it was diverse and delicious, ranging from warm Chinese dim sum to Western pastries. I woke up looking forward to it every day. The location is absolutely perfect too; after exploring Wangfujing, it's just a short walk back to the courtyard. You get to experience the city's vibrancy while enjoying the serene solitude of the small courtyard.

Staying in a siheyuan (quadrangle courtyard) was the best decision I made on this trip to Beijing! The courtyard is exquisite and elegant, the environment is quiet and therapeutic, perfectly capturing the charm of old Beijing. The room is clean and tidy, well-equipped and comfortable, and the service is thoughtful and attentive. The location is also very convenient. Exploring the hutongs during the day and returning to the small courtyard to relax at night truly allowed me to experience the authentic local life and poetic beauty of the city. It's excellent value for money and I highly recommend it to all friends visiting Beijing!

This hotel is located near Wangfujing, making transportation quite convenient. The staff, especially the ladies, are very enthusiastic and helpful. I highly recommend staying here.

Our stay here was absolutely wonderful! The room was clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. The food was really unique and delicious; you could tell the owners put a lot of thought and effort into their dishes. But what truly stood out was the warm and attentive service from the owner and staff – I've never encountered such a dedicated and friendly team. Coming to Beijing, I really wanted to experience a traditional courtyard hotel, and after reading many reviews, I chose Xinxing Yayuan. I'm so pleased with my decision! The location is really convenient, very close to the subway station, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. The service was warm and attentive; when I came back in the evening, they even offered to warm up a glass of milk for me. Although I declined because I was too full, it really warmed my heart. There's a singing bird in the courtyard, which is adorable. The room, though not large, was spotlessly clean, and the bedding was super comfortable – thumbs up for that! And the beef noodles for breakfast were fantastic. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Bringing my elderly parents and kids to experience a traditional courtyard home. It's just a short walk down a hutong from the main road. They offer afternoon tea daily, and it's incredibly generous and varied! See the pictures for details. There are also free noodles, wontons, and tangyuan (sweet glutinous rice balls) every day. It was my first time making cotton candy, but it didn't turn out perfectly round, unfortunately! My kid loved eating it though. There are small fish and birds here too, and the birds aren't shy at all – you can even pet them! My parents said they'd definitely stay here again next time they visit Beijing.

During the Chinese New Year, we decided to try staying in a traditional Hutong courtyard in Beijing. The courtyard's location was excellent, small but exquisitely charming. We were very happy with our choice, and the service was superb. Both my daughters were extremely satisfied!

Can’t rave enough about our experience at Xinxiang Yayuan. We had a red eye flight and by the time we reached the accoms we just wanted to rest. Luckily for us the guests checked out of the room early and the staff quickly turned over the room for us to be able to take a rest. The hotel also provided afternoon tea which was delicious. They also had warm drinks in the fridge which we could take alongbefore leaving the hotel. The service is top notch and the ladies were super friendly and really took good care of us. They even offered to cook us supper which was so homely we had to get the wanton soup again on our 2nd night. Really enjoyed and loved our stay there. Before leaving they also gave us gifts which was so nice and we really appreciate them for making us feel so comfortable. We will definitely want to go back again!l

Our room was fully equipped, very cozy, and even had a projector and other modern conveniences, which was great. Our whole family was extremely satisfied and comfortable. The small courtyard is really cozy, and both the afternoon tea and breakfast were great. Laundry facilities were also very convenient. The staff ladies were super attentive and thoughtful, truly making it feel like a home away from home! I also have to commend the rooms for having both heating and AC. Being able to use the AC in winter was so comfortable and kept the room from feeling stuffy. I'll definitely be back, haha!
