Macdonald Frimley Hall Hotel and Spa

We had a special deal. £97.00 for deluxe double room with breakfast. (Not sure what was deluxe about the room!)but good value for the price paid. We did use the swimming pool and steam room in the leisure complex and had evening meal in the hotel restaurant. However if I had paid full price and /or this had been booked for a special occasion I would have been disappointed. Room on website stated separate shower and bath - it was shower over bath which is diffuse if you have mobility issues. Arrival through side door , as this was closest to where we parked , first thing to greet us smell of cooking and tatty arm chairs. Recommend you use the main entrance. Polite welcome , no offer of help to take bags to room. Room a ling walk from reception. If you have any mobility issues phone the hotel and request a room close to reception . Room quite dated and drab. Sofa looked as though it had been recently recovered but was very lumpy and actually I wasn’t that keen to sit on it . Stain on carpet . It was nice to have a fridge in the room. Also you can request fresh milk , maybe they could just leave in fridge . Lighting was poor . Dinner was a farce , appeared to have plenty of staff but attention to detail was disappointing, example we ordered a bottle of wine waited over ten minutes then glasses arrived but were marked so when wine arrived we asked for clean glasses and water, served a glass of water not a jug or bottle and it was never topped up even though we asked twice. Main meal was small portion and didn’t represent value. We had pudding which was nice but both left still hungry. Leisure facilities noisey and busy we didn’t stay long and certainly wouldn’t want to book a spa day or weekend at this hotel. Curtains fab black out and we did sleep well. Breakfast was buffet style a reasonable standard and choice but the hot items were in a different room across from the restaurant. Generally the hotel is a bit drab and tatty and seems to have no identity which is sad considering the history and beauty of the original building. I personally wouldn’t stay here again due to poor dining experience and leisure experience abd the drab room decor, even the beautiful room opposite the restaurant didn’t make me feel I would want to sit and enjoy a drink it was cold and bland. However if you get a deal and just need a bed and breakfast with parking then you would probably be ok at this hotel. We chose as it was a similar price to a Premier Inn and we thought we would enjoy the leisure facilities and a different food offer to that of a Premier Inn. And it was certainly different to Premier Inn but not at all what we were expecting based on the hotels web site.

I had a wonderful Spa day with a friend at Macdonald Frimley Hall end May 24....We enjoyed a fab environment, delicious tea and I enjoyed 2 excellent Elemis Spa treatments from the lovely Min! Would thoroughly recommend the day and the treatments.

Came here for a spa weekend for a hen do, beautiful place, beautiful food, staff excellent especially our breakfast host bozena, she couldn't do enough for us and even with 3 weddings going on we wernt forgotten about x spa was delightful! And the gardens are stunning to sit and have a coffee in the morning x

My family and I all got morning massages here at the spa. I got a lovely massage from Min, who was extremely attentive and kind. She had the perfect amount of pressure and checked in on me throughout the hour. One of the best massages I've had. Highly recommend!

Room was lovely , right at the top in the turret . Very romantic . Very clean and lots of space . . Evening meal tasty and portion sizes more than adequate ..Shame the woman waitress got an attitude problem when querying our bill . Melanie !! Yet the waiter very professional ...After being told from the reception woman only have to pay for drinks in her accent ..But breakfast staff amazing . Plenty of choice . Lovely grounds and the location is beautiful .. Shame you don't give NHS discounts because your other chain of hotel does. Such a beautiful old building . Thank you ..

I attended my Son and Daughter in law's wedding at Frimley Hall hotel. I couldn't have been happier on how well the weekend went. From start to finish the staff were amazing and so helpful, nothing was too much for them. If you are thinking of booking this hotel for a wedding venue then I would highly recommend it. A huge Thankyou to all the staff for making it such a special weekend for us all. I would like to make a special mention and Thankyou to Constantin, Sian, Amelia and Ben, you were all brilliant and are huge credit to the Hotel.

We enjoyed a spa day at Frimley Hall in May 2024 and it was completely amazing. The location is lovely - old building surrounded by tall trees, completely peaceful grounds and lovely spacious rooms with luxurious furniture. The staff were amazing. We arrived at the end of breakfast service, but we said we’d like to eat, they prepared fresh eggs, checked there was plenty left in the buffet, made toast and brought us coffee. We went for our spa day; used the lovely relaxation room and had an expert, caring massage from Ti, which really destressed and unknotted the muscles. Spent most of the afternoon having swims, steam room and sauna sessions and dozing with our books by the pool; warm water, low lighting, including plenty of natural light and little touches like water flavoured with fresh fruit/cucumber was very welcome after the sauna. We ordered a meal for later and mentioned in passing that it was a birthday treat. When we arrived in the dining room, a table by the window was covered in glitter and there was champagne on ice. Lots of time and space to relax, everything was beautifully unhurried and calm but the staff were attentive and on-the-ball. Service throughout was exemplary, the lovely welcome from Bozena and the attention from the rest of the staff made the whole day a real treat. Highly recommended, and inexpensive, particularly for an all-day treat.
