First the Durango Downtown Inn is closed forver, sold and has been turned into apartments. The date I put for staying there is incorrect, but you had to put a date. I believe the place closed at the end of September 2021. Some folks staying there actually got kicked out of their rooms at the end of the month. I still look for pics of the place to see what happened to it in it's conversion to apartments. My family stayed here several times when shutteling our son to summer camp in Durango, so I have some fond memories of the place and Durango. But what I really wanted to say is I ended up looking over a number of old reviews of this place and they all say basically the same thing, great location, poor service, broken stuff, smelly rooms, bad carpeting, needs a fix up, and overpriced for what it was. I felt the same over time and finially stopped staying at the Inn. I had the feeling when staying here there was a real lack of caring for the place by the staff and mostly the owner. I suspect he/she bought it, fixed it up a bit 30 years ago and then never put another dime into it knowing someday they would just sell it for the real estate value. And the lesson here is this was a hotel in harvest mode, milk it for what it is, invest nothing, and sell it. If you read reviews as I summarized about this place above, those are signs the long term prospects of a place may be limited.
