Great staff, from Vanedsa on reception to all the lovely wsiting on staff and chamber maids. Worth paying a bit extra for the view. Lovely big bed and very clean room. A proper adjustable shower, great for washing long hair...or not...yoyr choice! Hotel decor kept in good order. Great breakfast and really good quality of food evenings in the dining room. Highly recommended.

Wonderful place to stay: the lakeside grounds were beautiful, the room was lovely with a huge and comfortable bed and luxurious bathroom, the spa was wonderfully relaxing, and the staff were wonderful. There's ample parking and it's walking distance into Grasmere itself. We didn't manage to eat dinner as they were fully booked before our arrival, which was a slight disappointment, but we had the bar menu one night, which was lovely.

Managed to check in a few hours early for my wife's birthday surprise. Plenty of parking, grounds immaculate & can walk down to lakeside. Check in was easy, reception were polite, explained everything & directed us room via lift/stairs on 1st floor. Room was lake view superior, large & immaculate with bath & separate shower cubicle, Moulton Brown products. Room was light and airy with opening dual aspect french doors giving spectacular views over lake. Room has TV, kettle, bottled water & tea/coffee/biscuits. Robes and slippers provided in room for spa, towels were soft & luxurious. Lovely touch from hotel with chocolates & card in room for birthday. Spa was amazing & relaxing, not too busy & had no time restraint. Pool with jacuzzi, steam room & sauna. Pool isn't deep and cannot swim in it. My wife had a 45 min facial treatment which she said was superb, very relaxing & best she'd ever had. Treatment rooms were lovely & relaxing. Dinner in restaurant was superb, service was polite, attentive without being obtrusive & a credit to the hotel. Special bithday ate & chocs given to my wife by hotel as a surprise, nice touch. Portion size was good & food delicious. Breakfast was continental & self service cooked with some items made to order. Quality was good. Decor around hotel was nice & clean & nothing was a trouble during g our stay. A little on the pricey side, but worth paying as a treat. All staff were very polite and seemed to been trained to a high standard. Really enjoyed our stay.

This place blew me away. The staff were all great and gave a first class service. The spa facilities are fantastic and the treatments we received were excellent. We ate food in the restaurant and the tomahawk steak was sensational. The breakfast in bed the next day was a nice touch too. I honestly can’t wait to go back. The scenery is mind blowing and the hotel itself is clean and everything you want in a hotel.

Great location, walking distance to Grasmere village. Spa is smaller than your average but Massages are a high standard. A few gripes in Hotel but, nothing that could not be addressed if you asked. Pillows were flat and lumpy, Gowns for Spa hard and rough. Other things noted was wear and tear. Room Coffee Table was worn and scratched, so was the edge of Bed near the base, this is just through constant Hoovering and cleaning Bathroom was excellent. Great Housekeeping service. Lobby Bar had Draught Beer that was not available for some reason so Bar Staff had to run up to Restaurant Bar on another floor every time I wanted a Pint. Great service but rather silly after six pints! Staff were always stretched but they just carried on covering for each other and never failing to provide. Just brilliant! No Syrups available at any Bar in Hotel or Restaurant so no flavours to add or coffee choices like Carmel Latte etc. Same in Grasmere?? No Whiskey in the Irish Coffees....? Didn't pay. Tv channels were very limited so when it rained you were either at Bar or Spar. Main Restaurant Food is worth every penny. We booked every night with such unbelievable quality and you'll always be full. Amazing! But if you go into Lounge next Door and order Food its cheaper and still excellent quality with larger portions and bigger Deserts! But less choice on Menu, no Bar in there but, they still provide Table service for everything and fetch from Restaurant Bar. Rumour that a refurb is due which would compliment the Hotel and Staff they deserve it. We would go back and so will other family members who have stayed. PS. Typhoon Jets pass low over head from local RAF Bases approx 10.30am -11am and 5-7pm amazing site to see....have your phone ready!

Excellent visit to the Daffodil, our third in the last few years. Only disappointment was the choice on the dinner menu. Came close to leaving and going to the bar and eating there. Also, found it strange that there was a £35 allowance each for dinner if you paid the extra £70 on the room rate. There's no benefit to paying the extra 70. If dinner came to more than 70 you'd have to make up the difference, but if dinner came to less, which ours did, you'd still pay 70. Food was of an excellent standard, though. Have to say, the breakfast was one of the best. Room was excellent, with a view of the lake and the spa was superb. Will definitely return, but will not be making a dinner reservation.
