马A very unique homestay. Due to my lack of experience when booking a hotel, I ignored the issue of independent bathroom. I called the boss the day before check-in and made a request. The boss tried his best to satisfy him. He added some money for two nights and was transferred to a room with a private bathroom. The last night was due to The room has already been booked, so it is transferred back to the originally booked room. This homestay was not easy to find for the first time, and it was always confused with a nearby hotel with a similar name on Google. Although it is far from Kyoto Station, it is very close to various Internet celebrity attractions, and the transportation is very convenient. It takes less than ten minutes to walk to the main line from the hotel. There are convenience stores and restaurants on the street. It is very distinctive here and it is worth choosing.

It was the best guesthouse. I travel a lot, but it's rare to find a place as nice as this. It was clean, and the shared spaces were always kept spotless. The staff were also very kind and warmly welcomed. It's conveniently located near the station and a convenience store. There were even musical instruments (even a koto) available for free use, creating a nice atmosphere. The only downside was that the Wi-Fi was sometimes quite slow when there were a lot of people. The walls are thin, so you might hear people in the next room if they speak loudly, but free earplugs are available at the front desk.

It is a little far from the center, but we had a nice stay, the owner is a kind person, and he even borrowed the umbrellas in the rainy days.

A Nice little guesthouse located right next to the Golden Pavilion. There are convenience stores, coffee shops and restaurants nearby, as well as bus stops. It is a convenient place to visit the sights in Northern Kyoto!

One may struggke to find the entrance since it is ”hidden” between 2 buildings, but the inside buildings (both, one is exclusive for women and the other is mixed) is carefully kept. The lounge has big tables with sockets to charge your devices. Also, access to a pseudo-kitchen is provided, where you can prepare instant coffee, tea,...
The staff will kindly break down to you everything you need to know about your room and provide you a code to enter your room.

You can tell it is an old home. Damaged sliding doors and no tatami floors. The bathroom set up was also strange. It's normal for japanese toilets to be separate from the bathtub but this was very separated. The toilet was outside on the other side of the back yard area and the tub was inside the house next to the kitchen. The house was overall very drafty and impossible to keep at a desired temperature. Also no tatami floors which are generally there when futon beds are offered. It was overall an interesting stay

Ash412222The location is very good, just a few minutes walk from the subway station, but there are not many food options near the hotel, only convenience stores, and the hotel does not have an elevator. Guests with large luggage need to pay attention, because they need to carry their luggage upstairs by themselves

It was so enjoyable to stay here. There is a traditional rekan with all attributes to feel really Japanese culture.
The hotel is located in quite area, around 15 minutes from Kyoto station. The administration explained all the rules that you should know.
It has very thin walls so it’s possible to hear the neighbors, but for one night it was pretty ok.
There is shower, toilet and sink in the room. Also teapot, teabags and hair dryer, so it’s very comfortable to live here.
I appreciate to stay in such a hotel, thanks for great experience.

The location is very good. I enjoyed sleeping on the tatami mats; I spent two nights there. The windows faced a blank wall, and the ground floor was cold. However, there was air conditioning. For some reason, there was no hot water at night.
The hostess was friendly, and we slept in silence.
We were also asked to remain quiet because the walls don't hold sound.
