i had a really pleasant stay here, but what stood out the most was the staff — especially 宋书琳. i reached out to her very last minute when i realised i might not be able to catch my train (which meant i’d miss my flight too), and she went above and beyond to help. she patiently guided me through everything — from what time we should start heading down the mountain, to when the cable cars and buses start operating. she even went the extra mile to contact a driver she knew to make sure we had transport that early in the morning. all this was outside of her working hours, which made me even more grateful. thanks to her, everything went smoothly and i managed to catch my train and flight. the hotel itself is also conveniently located in the centre, with restaurants and shops nearby. overall, a great experience and i’m really thankful for the warm hospitality. 这次入住的体验非常愉快，但让我印象最深刻的是酒店的员工——特别是宋书琳。 在我快要出发的前一晚，才突然发现自己很可能赶不上火车（如果错过火车，就意味着也会错过已经订好的航班），当时真的非常着急。幸好联系到了宋书琳，她非常耐心又细心地帮助我，从什么时候该开始下山、缆车和巴士的运营时间，都一步步为我解答。她甚至还特地联系了一位熟悉的司机，担心我们一大早在山里打不到车。最让我感动的是，她做这些的时候其实已经下班了，却依然尽心尽力地帮助我。正是因为她的帮助，我才能顺利赶上火车和航班，真的非常感谢！ 酒店的位置也很方便，就在中心地段，附近有餐厅和商店。整体体验很好，很感谢这里的热情与周到。

Comfortable base for a sunrise run-and-gun. Staff added me to a handy WeChat feed that pushed real-time sunrise/sunset tips; thanks to that, Danxia Peak (20-min walk) delivered a great dawn view. Room was modern, warm, and clean; Wi-Fi and hot shower both fine. Food is flavourful and enjoyable but very “mountain canteen” and strictly Chinese—don’t expect pastries or espresso. Prices are high, as everywhere on Huangshan, but service is friendly and the views were great! Overall: solid choice if you want easy access to the peaks with hotel-level comfort. I’d stay again.

The Huangshan Shilin Hotel is very convenient for visiting the mountains, and they also organise trips to good viewing spots and some days photography workshops, in spite it was included in our booking there was not workshop that day. The hotel itself is not located at a very high altitude, and the sunset spot where the staff took us was not the best, the sunrise however was amazing (tour leave the hotel at 5:15 end of August) Dinner and breakfast are served buffet-style, with a variety of options, and are good, when we see the cross the poor Sherpas bringing the food up (as well as clean sheets, building materials etc.) we can complain about options. The hotel is a bit old, and there is no air conditioning, though this is probably not an issue in most seasons. The staff speak English and are very helpful, which makes things much easier for international visitors. It’s worth noting that a huge new high-end hotel is currently being built just opposite. Once completed, it will likely bring many more visitors to the area.

Easily one of the best hotels on Huangshan Mountain, with exceptionally high standards for both service and environment! Tucked away in a secluded spot opposite the Beihai Hotel, a rustic wooden door opens to reveal a true sanctuary. The staff members were all incredibly gentle and soft-spoken, always with a warm smile. During a heavy downpour, the management continuously checked in on us, helped arrange porters, provided a dehumidifier, and even brought a foot bath with hot water. From the moment we stepped in, we felt incredibly well-cared for, with impeccable attention to every detail! And a foot massager was available, which was an absolute lifesaver for my tired legs! Dinner was a set menu, featuring ingredients freshly brought up the mountain daily, and it was truly exquisite. The fresh small mandarin fish, in particular, was a revelation, completely changing my perception of Huizhou cuisine – so fresh and tender! After dinner, guest activities were offered, including incense crafting, calligraphy, and tea tasting, with brush painting available for children. The young lady leading the incense crafting was sweet and engaging, and our child absolutely adored her! Returning to our room after dinner, we found a soothing 'goodnight stew' designed for a restful sleep. The complimentary mini-bar was a bonus, and our child especially loved the milk! The coffee brewed in the morning was also wonderfully aromatic! The in-room breakfast service was also perfectly executed – a true blessing after a tiring hike, when all you want to do is stay in bed! The room was spacious and spotlessly clean; apart from the dehumidifier being a little noisy, everything else was practically perfect! The snacks in the Huizhou-style food box were delicious, and the tableware was incredibly elegant. Even the tissue box was adorned with Xiangyunsha, a traditional intangible cultural heritage fabric – the attention to detail was truly exceptional! The small courtyard was serene and incredibly comforting. Overall, I was extremely satisfied, and I'll definitely be back on my next visit to Huangshan!

Upon entering Huangshan Yunlu Beihai Hotel, we were greeted by a picturesque Hanfu performance. The hotel was exceptionally clean and hygienic, with a beautiful environment. The breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful, and the butler-style service was warm, thoughtful, and attentive. Our account manager, Cheng Lei, provided thoughtful reminders and attentive service throughout our stay. From the time we arrived at the mountain to our stay, we could always contact Cheng if we needed anything. Cheng was always available, providing dedicated service and even bringing us drinks and Huangshan snacks. We are very grateful for Cheng's warm service, which made us feel right at home in Huangshan.

Hotel is at a convenient location where you can end your hike at for the day. Value for money as you get to view the sunset, star-gaze and see the sunrise all in one location! Receptionist Hu Shan was extremely helpful and even sent us messages on Weibo to alert us of the sunset/sunrise timings. 酒店的地点非常方便。上了山就能立刻休息。也能在酒店的台阶看日出日落，还能看银河!! 前台小姐胡珊也帮了我们不少- 在微博上给我们发消息让我们知道日出日落的时间。非常感谢！

The location is absolutely unparalleled, right within the scenic area. Step outside, and you're greeted by the famous Guest-Greeting Pine (Yingkesong). Behind the hotel, you have an expansive view of the East Sea, making it the closest spot for sunrise viewing, all without the need for strenuous hiking up and down. The hotel thoughtfully provided dinner, which was quite delicious. Their mini hotpot was a delightful surprise; I never expected to enjoy such a comforting and warm hotpot up in the mountains. The small tea room at the back, overlooking the breathtaking scenery, is also a beautiful spot to unwind, whether you're waiting for someone or simply lost in thought. But my absolute favorite was sitting by the room's window, sipping tea, reading a book, listening to music, and simply soaking in the view. It was utterly sublime.

Room is cozy with everything you need. Better to stay overnight in mountain if affordable. Two days one night is a better itinerary for the tough walking trails. The room price is 3-4 times higher than the foot of the mountain. Good breakfast with reasonable spread of food. Near the sunrise spot. We started from Yungu cableway at 7am on day one, travel around the area and checked in the hotel. We woke up for the sunrise at 4:30 am. After breakfast and shower, we started our day two… quite tough for people not used to walk for a day ＞10 km with thousands of stairways…. 😅 we went down Yuping cableway around 4pm. We cover all the HungShan highlighted spots and very happy due to low peak travel season in China, less crowds. 😎

Our family trip spanned over half a month, with Huangshan being our final destination. We stayed three nights at Shuguangli and two nights at Shilin Yashu, and our experience was truly wonderful – definitely worth booking a month in advance! The ambiance, service, and food were all exceptional. The hotel also offered a rich variety of daily cultural activities, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. From picking us up in Chengkan, escorting us to the cable car up the mountain and then to the hotel, all the way to arranging the business van for our departure, every detail was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. The manager was very approachable and elegant. The lovely lady in charge of tea culture patiently taught us tea ceremony and bead stringing, and the children absolutely adored her. We also appreciated the young man and other servers in the restaurant who had just graduated, the young man at the front desk who helped us with photography, and the kind auntie who helped us dry our clothes daily. Not to mention the young photographer from Shuguangli, the young lady who provided transfers and taught us incense seal carving, and the talented chef who prepared such delicious meals. We are truly grateful, as their exceptional service perfectly complemented the stunning scenery of Huangshan, leaving us with wonderful memories and a truly fantastic holiday. We even want to come back in winter!

The first time I have such a desire to evaluate, the hygiene is really bad! I won't complain about hardware decoration, but the focus is on hygiene! Even in a homestay, shouldn't bedding hygiene be the most basic? The sheets and quilts have hair! It also looks dirty, although there is no smell, but I feel itchy all day long!
