What a cute hotel in a cute ancient town! We enjoyed our stay here over the October holidays. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the main street with all the food and shops and people! Actually, even though it was the holidays and there were a lot of people, it was not too crazy. And the hotel is just a few minutes away but seemed quiet and serene. Beautiful ancient courtyard home converted into part hotel and traditional Chinese arts. We made an ink press of a Chinese poem into a lamp, which they gave us. Very cool. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Bed on the firm side but not too hard. Awesome aircon. Great shower. Simple Chinese breakfast. We brought our own coffee, and there’s actually a Starbucks a few minutes walk away. We would definitely stay here again.

I wanted to find a place to relax in the mountains during the May Day holiday. I could bring my dog ​​to Dalezhiye, so I chose this place. The food was very good, all freshly cooked dishes, and the taste was good. The housekeeper Geng Geng was warm and thoughtful, and I will come again next time I have the chance😊

The room was nice, the service was friendly, it was very quiet at night, and I slept well! The food was average. The fish and shrimp for the island dinner were actually farmed, and the clams were the most common oil clams, which was a bit disappointing. The boss said that the bamboo shoots were freshly dug on the island, and the roasted bamboo shoots and meat were delicious. One plate was not enough, so he added more, which made me happy. The breakfast was simple, but it was clean. I was very happy to take a cat and a dog to the island to watch the sea.

We spend three nights here to explore the area and loved our stay! The owners were so kind and helpful! Despite our limited mandarin we could still communicate well with some English and translation apps. They helped us with public transport directions (two buses from Ningbo) and provided a varied tasty breakfast (even vegetarian upon our lastminute request). Nice warm shower and beautiful mountain view from the room. There are some great hiking trails nearby (see Zhejiang hiking trails app), some starting directly from this cute historic village. The village across the hill (15min walk) is also very scenic. All in all a great nature getaway from Shanghai with the sweetest hosts!

You can take bus No. 111 to the county town for 1 yuan, and visit Penglai Vegetable Market and Wanda Plaza. There are few people and cars on the road, and the bus is unimpeded all the way, driving super fast, and it only takes more than 20 minutes to arrive. The boss lady is very nice. She helped us cook the swimming crabs and snails bought from the seafood market and answered all our questions about Xiangshan. It feels like home. The environment of the homestay is also very good. It is a single-family villa with a living room, kitchen and dining room on the first floor. It is very clean. In short, it is very good. I highly recommend it.
