"Overall, we really liked this hotel. We booked for two nights. Let me start by saying we booked a room in the space zone and were assigned to the 70th floor. The view of Bangkok from the room is impressive, especially in the evening after dark. The room itself is quite spacious. Yes, the rooms and furniture are old, very old actually. But the room is cleaned very well. It's very clean, with white bedding. For two people, there were six bottles of water, and tea and coffee making facilities. There's a kettle. There are also bathrobes and slippers, which are very comfortable with soft soles, by the way. A nice bonus is the pretty good toiletries in the bathroom. And another pleasant surprise was a small fruit plate upon check-in. I should mention that my husband and I accidentally went up to the 60th floor, got out of the elevator, and it smelled terribly of cigarettes, as if someone had been smoking right by the elevator. There were no such smells on the 70th floor. The rotating open observation deck is a delight in itself, and it's beautiful to watch Bangkok by night. In general, the presence of observation decks and photo zones is a big plus for the hotel. For that alone, you can overlook the shortcomings of the old rooms. I also want to highlight the hotel's location. It's very convenient for getting to/from the airport. There's a direct metro line. It's about a 10-minute walk to the hotel. Right next to the hotel is, of course, the Indian quarter. If you like Indian cuisine, it will be very convenient. But there are other cafes too. There's a large shopping mall just a 20-minute walk away. It's about a 30-minute taxi ride to the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (but that's with traffic). Check-out from the hotel is by 11:00 AM, which is a bit early compared to other hotels. Keep that in mind. But there's a late check-out service for 200 baht for each additional hour. So overall, I can recommend this hotel if you're prepared to accept the nuances mentioned above."

"This was my first time staying in a dorm-style hostel, and I was a little worried at first, but once I checked in, it was much better than I expected. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, there was enough personal space, the overall atmosphere was friendly, and I felt safe, even though I was traveling alone. I met new people from many different places, and it was a small experience that showed me that traveling alone isn't as lonely as I thought. Overall, I was impressed, it was worth the price, and if I have the chance, I would like to stay here again. 🤍"

"We stayed here for one night and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel is nice and comfortable, although a small cosmetic renovation would definitely make it even better. We did find one small cockroach in the room (on the 17th floor). It wasn’t a major issue, but it’s worth mentioning. The bathroom also felt quite old and could use some renovation. It wasn’t immediately clear which tap was for cold water, so some clearer signs or instructions would be helpful. The water also took quite a while to heat up. There were also a few paint stains on the floor, although they were completely dry and didn’t cause any problems. The bed, however, was absolutely amazing. seriously, one of the softest beds I have ever slept in! If you like very soft mattresses, you will probably love it. The location is the biggest advantage of this hotel. It is incredibly convenient for getting to the airport: you can simply take the train and arrive at the airport in about 40 minutes without any transfers. Perfect for a short stay before or after a flight. The staff were also friendly, welcoming, and always smiling, a good option for a short stay in Bangkok, especially if convenient airport access is important to you."

"The location of this amazing and lobby is huge and very clean. The staff was very helpful we didnt like our room not because it was dirty but we just had an off vibe toward it and they showed us 3 room and i asked for a specific room upgrade and it wasnt available they give me a higher room for same price that they gave me for the one i choose."

"Overall, the stay was pleasant. We received two room cards upon check-in, which was very convenient for two people as we didn't have to constantly wait for each other. The location is excellent, very close to the BTS station, making it easy to travel to various attractions. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, which is handy for grabbing drinks, late-night snacks, or daily necessities. Additionally, if you need to do laundry during your stay, there are several self-service laundromats nearby within walking distance, which is very convenient for longer stays. Overall, the biggest advantages are the convenient transportation and good amenities. If you're primarily visiting Bangkok for tourism and plan to use the BTS daily for your itinerary, this is a very convenient place to stay."

"Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai in Bangkok is a world apart from its Chiang Mai counterpart – a night and day difference! This hotel truly embodies the standard of a sophisticated, high-end business establishment. Its location is superb, within walking distance of both the BTS Skytrain and the Airport Rail Link, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and commuting. The rooms are spacious and airy, with meticulous attention to cleanliness, and the wet/dry separation in the bathroom is excellent, virtually eliminating any issues with dampness or stuffiness. The hotel boasts a rooftop pool and an executive lounge. The breakfast offers a wide variety of choices and consistent quality. Service is standardized and efficient, with a responsive front desk and thorough housekeeping. The overall hardware is well-maintained and feels new, and the ambiance is refined and elegant. "I had a wonderful time at this hotel, and I was particularly impressed by the excellent service. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always proactive in offering help. Many times, they would even ask if I needed assistance before I had to say anything, which made me feel very welcome and well-cared for throughout my stay. The hotel's location is also very convenient, with many restaurants, shops, and attractions nearby, and easy access to public transport. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. What I appreciated most was the incredibly comfortable bed, with soft pillows and high-quality bedding, allowing me to get plenty of rest and a good night's sleep after a busy day. Overall, I am very grateful for the warm and thoughtful service provided by the hotel staff. Their proactive and helpful attitude made my stay even more enjoyable. "Pros - 200 baht shutter to airport (very convenient , i arrived ~2am and in 20 min i was in the hotel, but i recommended to order a grab or bolt taxi, it will be cheaper) - 7/11 10 min walk - free juice & water on the 1 floor - i really enjoyed swimming in the swimming pool, not cold water - very soft bed and good AC Cont - old room, no dental kit, no any bathroom amenities (only shower gel, shampoo) - good only if you need to live near to the airport"

"Pros: Spacious, clean rooms with great bedding setup. 1.The rooms are noticeably spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with housekeeping provided daily upon request. 2.The bed is large and comfortable. 3.A sofa is available in the room, making it feel more like a serviced apartment than a standard hotel room. 4.A fridge is included, which is a practical touch. Location is excellent 1.The hotel's location is one of its strongest points — conveniently situated in the Silom area with easy access to dining, shopping, and public transport. Staff performance 1.Staff at reception are generally okay and do their job adequately. Cons Deposit policy — outdated and inconvenient. The hotel requires a 2,000 baht cash deposit at check-in, which is a significant drawback in today's travel landscape. Not all tourists carry that much cash, as most travelers now use digital payments or credit cards. Moreover, money exchange rates in the area come with unfavorable charges, making this requirement unnecessarily costly. This policy should be revised. Overly strict check-in time The 2:00 PM check-in restriction is far too rigid — even 5-star hotels are not this strict. This creates an uncomfortable situation for tourists who arrive even slightly earlier than 2:00 PM and are left waiting. Service and hospitality shortcomings Welcome drinks are not proactively offered by reception — you have to ask for them yourself. Reception staff lack initiative and could improve their hospitality communication style. They come across as too robotic and transactional rather than warm and welcoming. I even witnessed reception staff shouting at another guest during check-in over the 2,000 baht deposit issue — a very uncomfortable scene to witness and an unacceptable way to speak to paying customers. Room condition and maintenance issues Walls are too thin — noise from neighboring rooms is clearly audible. Shower water pressure is very weak. The shower handle is broken. Electrical sockets are hard to find and placed at very inconvenient spots. The room door is extremely hard to open, appearing old and broken. Building infrastructure Only one small elevator is available, resulting in long waits to get to or from your room. The building as a whole looks dated and in need of renovation. Overall The i Residence Silom Hotel offers genuinely spacious, clean rooms in an excellent location at what is presumably a reasonable price point. However, the outdated cash deposit policy, overly rigid check-in time, poor hospitality training among front desk staff, and numerous maintenance issues (thin walls, broken shower, weak water pressure, inconvenient outlets, faulty door, single slow elevator) significantly detract from the experience. The building itself feels old and tired. With better staff training and a serious round of renovations, this hotel could live up to the potential its location and room size suggest — but as it stands, the cons may outweigh the pros for many travelers."

"The beds in the room felt smaller than 1.3 meters, more like 1.1 meters. But that's just my feeling as a woman, which might not be accurate. When we booked, we requested two standard rooms with 1.3-meter beds, but upon arrival, we only got one king room and one standard room. This meant I had to sleep in the king room with my two children, which was very uncomfortable. Luckily, they switched us to a standard room the next day. The breakfast was decent, and the location is great. There's Chulalongkorn Night Market nearby for browsing, and plenty of massage parlors. If you're interested, you can also visit the labs inside Chulalongkorn University. The front desk staff and bellhops were all incredibly friendly and helpful."
