Arrived late on a Friday night and received a cold towel at check in but no welcome drink as other reviews have mentioned. Following check in, we were able to access the late night buffet at this time but it was underwhelming but nice that we could get some food at that time. Our room was lovely, we had a first floor sea view room in the main building. The room was large and comfortable with plenty of storage space. The bathroom was also a good size but it has no extractor fan and so the mirror steams up when you shower. The shower is over the bath and in the middle of the bath with a fixed shower screen so it felt a little cramped. On our arrival night I took my shoes off and my feet were dirty from walking on the floor after 5 minutes, it was like the room was half finished. Towels were replaced as required along with beach towels which was handy. We asked for an extra bed pillow too which was provided. The room was kept cleaned well the rest of the week, this is despite us never meeting Linda the seemingly infamous housekeeping manager that every other review mentions! The food in the main buffet was okay, a little repetitive after a week and we only noted one theme night whilst there. It was standard all inclusive buffet, nothing special. The al a carte restaurants were much better quality and we ate at the Italian brunch, the Italian for dinner and the Meat restaurant. We often queued for the main buffet and this made it feel like a school canteen but the queue usually moved swiftly. It seemed busy at this time of year and we didn’t find the a**osphere particularly relaxing. Older staff seemed lovely and engaged with guests but some younger staff barely spoke and we often waited a while for drinks. It would be useful if you could help yourself in this area to drinks. Around the main pool in the daytime there was some waiter service but this was hit and miss as they didn’t come to you regularly. Waited over an hour for a drink one day because the order had not been processed. Certainly not enough staff working the day time and again not overly friendly or attentive. It also seems a hotel where you need to get up early for towels on sunbeds, which we absolutely hate as a holiday practice and this is not monitored by the hotel. Lots of reviews comment overwhelming on the friendly staff however, we didn’t particularly find this. One place they did show this, was at the beach bar; the guys there are a bit older, friendly and have a laugh with the guests. The only disappoin**ent here is that the beach bar doesn’t serve cocktails. Other staff could take some training from them, particularly the ladies in the creperie who were not friendly at all unfortunately. This was the best place for a snack but we always felt like we were asking for the moon on a stick rather than a crepe/waffle! There is no where else to get food snacks during the day so I imagine it’s very busy in Summer as they also seem disorganized. Evening entertainment was you
