"This is an amazing hotel - huge complex so it only felt busy at meal times in tge main restaurant. We had a room with a private pool and we loved it. Cold, but it was just what we needed. Fridge in the room was restocked daily and our housekeeper was fantastic. Food was a bit hit or miss in my opinion. Some nights were really good, spoilt for choice, then others we struggled to fill our plates. The desserts were heavenly! For us the let down was the service staff (bar and restaurant) apart from 2 or 3 of them, they were rude, dismissive and just generally made you feel like you werent welcome. We went at the end of the season (still paid a lot of money) and things started to close down midway through our week - some of the snack bars, which was an inconvience as our room was far away from the other facilities. All in all, i would return just maybe not at the end of the season. "

"Lots of good: Staff are mostly incredibly attentive and polite; good drinks selection; lovely bar; gorgeous views; nice room. However, there are a few major concerns that would stop me returning. The food quality is poor and often cold. When it runs out, trays aren't filled up quick enough meaning you can miss out. Bedroom sheets don't get changed unless requested (ours got turned inside out, I think to create the impression they in fact had been cleaned...). While the room we had was great, the AC unit wasn't working properly and, despite several calls to reception, they were unable to fix it, resulting in me manufacturing a temporary DIY solution - not really how I want to be spending my time. Finally, one of the pools is labelled as "adults only" - which is a nice touch during the summer holidays - but this simply isn't enforced. Keep the rule, or get rid of it."

"Staff were very friendly and resort was amazing. Staff organised a birthday cake with candles and a letter for my sister without being made previously aware of the birthday. We asked for dinner recommendations for her birthday and came back to find birthday cake and card. Great selection of food and restaurants with ample sunbeds around the pools and beach for tanning. We had a late flight so staff collected our luggage from rooms and stored safely, allowing us to continue using the resort facilities. Also able to shower and freshen up in the departures lounge before heading to the airport. Overall great experience, would definitely go back."

"Staff were all very friendly, the views from the pool area and room are fantastic, and the food on the whole was good. Only two issues we had were the pool area is relatively small with limited sun beds - fine if you’re up early but everyday they were all taken, so I feel some couples may have missed out if they decided to sleep in or go out for the morning. The pool itself was lovely and perfect refreshing temperature, with a very relaxed atmosphere. Finally the other issue was the air conditioning in the room was not effective enough - during the day it was manageable if the blinds were kept closed, however at night it got very hot and was uncomfortable to sleep. Food on the whole was very good - the food is mostly fresh and all cooked in an open kitchen in the Thyme restaurant, with a lot of ingredients grown locally on site. Staff were all very friendly the whole stay, including all the restaurant and pool staff. Overall an amazing stay and would definitely recommend for couples."

"We recently stayed at Mitsis Family Village and had a very enjoyable experience overall. The hotel grounds were a little confusing at first due to the number of hotels on site, but we quickly found our way around. The private beach is only a short walk away and the all-inclusive food and drinks there were a great bonus. There’s also a bus stop directly outside the hotel with easy access to Kardamena. You can also enjoy a scenic walk into Kardamena via the beachside path, which takes around an hour. Our sea-view room was spacious and comfortable. Our relative stayed in a mountain view room and unfortunately, experienced issues with the air conditioning which led to the room being too hot. We did report this to reception at the time but it still didn't work until the point of us leaving so i'm not sure if it was looked at. Both rooms were kept clean and the fridges were re-stocked every other day. The food selection was excellent with plenty of choice at every meal, plus included crepes and ice cream throughout the day. The staff were fantastic and incredibly hardworking, especially Elona who was constantly keeping us topped up with drinks. There was also another member of staff (whose name I didn't catch) who is always taking people to their rooms when they check in. Our only suggestion would be to include a TV area for sports, as matches could only be watched off-site or in the pub where drinks weren’t included. Overall, we had a lovely holiday, would recommend the hotel, and would happily return."

"I spent 4 nights at the hotel with my teenage daughter and we had a wonderful time. The food is extremely good, probably one of the best all inclusive buffets we have experienced. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, particularly the lovely lady at the beach bar. The beach is sandy and very nice, with some fun waves for swimming. The pool is huge, warm and absolutely wonderful to swim in, never busy. Plenty of loungers at the pool and beach. The evening entertainment was enjoyable. Our twin room had 3 beds and was fairly basic but perfectly adequate and very spacious. The only improvement would be the quality of drinks; the beer is fine and the white wine is drinkable, but the red wine wasn't very nice, and the cocktails came out of a machine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. The hotel is only 10 minutes from the airport which is very convenient, and it's definitely worth walking to the nearby village which is beautiful and quaint. I would highly recommend the hotel."

"We stayed for two nights with the kids, and they loved it, and so did I! The food was delicious, really! There's something for every taste! There are always salads, vegetables, and fruit. We went on a weekend and it was fun! There were dancing and contests. The grounds are large, and you can walk outside the grounds and watch the sunset—it's only a 7-8-minute walk! Overall, it was great!"

"We stayed at hermes in 2022 and had a fantastic time! So with the return to kos it was a no brainer we were staying there again, and it did not disappoint! We were in block 3, room 306- nice spacious, cleaned everyday but Sundays- fresh large towels and small with shower matt provided. Shower room basic but clean and strong pressure from shower. Beds were soooo comfy ! Mattress protectors and bouncy pillows ! Lovely outside area with table and chairs! Pool is just stunning ! Very well maintained ! Food and drinks served at pool bar are amazing ! Starts around 10am till 4:30ish Lots of little kittens this year which does not bother us and is a pleasure to see them being left in their natural habitat! The staff try there best not to let tourists feed them as they lose the ability to be able to hunt and live through the winter ! So if you see the staff clapping them out they aren't being nasty they are concerned for them and understand not all guests want them around them while eating. Trust me nick is very caring for the cats! The overall hotel is stunning, clean and very friendly ! Diana , nick and her husband always on rhe ball and always a pleasure to speak to! Bar area inside is great too! Nice views to sit and relax with an evening drink! We will be back ! And thankyou for an amazing comfortable friendly warm stay! Rach and dan ! Yammas!"

"Booked a standard graden room, turned out to be a catastrophe: fridge in the mini bar humming so loud one could barely sleep, road directly in front of the room with loud vehicles passing and uncomfortable bed) - slept less than 4hours first night. Then were given the option to move to another standard room which did not have a loud road but for whatever reason had same issue with the fridge. After complaining again were upgraded to better room which was nice (bed nevertheless not comfortable). Lost 2 out of 4 nights to terrible rooms. Overall cannot recommend hotel. If you want to stay make sure only to book higher categories - standard room is absolutely not acceptable - a shame for a supposedly 5* hotel. Other negative aspects: breakfast only okish, food and the restaurant very very mediocre at truly elevated prices & outrageous wine pricing (60€ retail wine sold for 370€..) with no decent drinkable cheaper wines On the positive sides: very nice beach, good service at the beach, nice/cool interior design."

"Best time of our lives :) The hotel is beautiful and the service is amazing, every staff member wants you to have a great experience. We had a room with a private pool, we also had the candlelight dinner in the hotel's restaurant, and the floating breakfast. We additinally oredered pool floats (a giant flamingo). If you want to really treat yourself I would reccomended ordering them, despite the extra cost. It was a great experience for us, we almost didn't go out of our room. The breakfast buffet was included in our reservation and was also great, high quality ingridients and cooking. The hotel's staff was very responsive and helped me plan the dinner reservations and extras i've ordered. Hope to come back again :)"

"This was the 1st time staying at this hotel. Our friends stay at the hotel at least twice a year I must say this was an excellent hotel, from check in to check out. Breakfast was plentiful and a good choice. Bar staff were brilliant so were the ladies that cleaned our room daily, all staff that we came across was brilliant. Aircon was worth it, it was in an excellent location to the town. Unfortunately my husband left his backpack in the room and we only found out when we were dropped off at the airport our taxi driver contacted the hotel who had located the backpack and they were willing to keep it until our friends went back in September. But there was a taxi coming from Kos to the airport and they collected it for us. Excellent service from everyone. Would not hesitate to come back to Kos and especially the hotel."

"I want to start by saying we had a fab holiday, a relaxing break filled with lots of lovely things to do. Our party consisted of My husband and I (late 40s) daughters age 16, 14, 11 and my active parents in their mid 70s. We are not big drinkers, but like the occasional drink, 3 of the party are vegetarian. We usually go on 5* holidays. The hotel was well spaced out with lots of pools (cold salt water - children didn't mind, but not great for the adults!). Lots of steps everywhere. The planes do fly directly overhead. All of this we read about before and didn't really mind about. The fact that everything was spaced out was a bonus for us as it never really felt busy! Lots of sunlounges everywhere, but despite the signs, people did get up at silly O' clock to reserve the ones directly by the pool. The hotel was a little dated and some of the grounds really could do with a freshen up and some maintenance, however the rooms and communal areas were very clean. The a la carte restaurants were good, presentation being slightly better than the food, great for Instagram’s pics. Wouldn't run to go back, limited veggie options, but nice enough and made a change from the buffet. The Main buffet at breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good, quite a good range and they had different nights including 'Asian, fish, international and Greek'. Lots of fresh fruit and salad dishes. Good desserts. Not a big of a selection as a I would expect for a 5* rating especially when it came to cold meats, vegetarian dishes, desserts, cheese, breads and pastries. But what we ate was good… although Youngest has food poisoning at the end of the holiday which we suspect was from pink chicken. We always found somewhere to sit at the buffet but it does get busy during peek times and you cant always get a seat in the air con areas. Snack bar food was ok at a basic level, chips, burgers and nuggets. No vegetarian options. Ice cream and shakes were nice - but very limited basic flavours. BIG queues!! Cocktails and mocktails were OK, basic selection and tasted basic. Drinkable - but nothing to write home about. No frozen drinks which the children were disappointed by. We had drinks fridges in our room with plenty of water and fizzy drinks topped up daily. The amphitheatre I'd give 0 stars to as a venue. It looked like a deserted dilapidated version of the place you go to see sea lions perform, with tiered uncomfortable plastic seating. We only watched one show, the lights and fire show. My girls gave it 2.5*. There is nowhere to get a drink by the theatre. We did go to a quiz night there run by the entertainment staff and that was great fun. Entertainment staff (animation team) were exactly that, entertaining and animated, so friendly and approachable (without being in - you -face) made the quiz and pool games so much fun. Massive shout out to Jess who was super helpful with what was on at the hotel and knowledgeable about things to do outside the hotel too. My girl's just liked hav"

"Nice week in the sun at conveniently located hotel. We had a good time which is the main thing. Food choices somewhat limited compared to other hotels but no issues with quality. Bar service could be slow at times. A few reviews mention the hill to the restaurants, was very steep but plenty of buggys to hitch a lift on if needed. Entertainment was ok, no pressure to get involved but usual darts, water polo etc. A show on each night. 10 minute walk into town."

"A week long honeymoon with the wife that was eight years late but worth the wait. Our stay at Koia was everything we hoped it would be. (for ref we stayed in suite 403). The room had a fantastic sea view that was truly a perfect way to start the day. Pleasing room design, comfortable bed, space to unwind both inside the suite and outside next to out little pool made it a a really enjoyable place to be. We spent half of our holiday sunning ourselves in in private, it was that nice. The long breakfast window (7-11am) meant we could actually unwinding and relax and catch up on sleep without worrying about missing breakfast (A BIG DEAL TO ME). No kids, no dog, no routine, waking up after a good night's sleep after 9am was a real luxury. Unhurried mornings are rare. A week of this alone made me VERY happy. Food (we were half board) was fantastic. Breakfast was great quality no matter what we chose. Bread was fresh, yoghurts were amazing, cheeses and meats were hard to resist. Impossible to fault. The only tiny thing I would suggest is changing the breakfast tea offering from Lipton to something a little more robust. @Koia - please consider this, might even save you some money, Lipton is not good). The atmosphere in the dining room was also very good. Very relaxed, exceptional service for all the staff, perfect background music. Faultless. Food from the Bar. As we were half board we didn't really eat much during the day (TBH after a decent breakfast I was not looking to eat much more until later in the evening) but we did order sandwiches a few time. Both orders were delicious. Evening Meals. The Chef and all his kitchen staff did a great job of delivering some really great, individual and memorable meals. 4 courses was almost too much! We also ate off the set menu and ordered Steaks 2 nights - Fillet and Ribeye - my Ribeye was one of the best I've had in recent memory. The staff. Awesome. Hopefully you guys hear the feedback. I don't think I've enjoyed being in a hotel/resort as much as being at Koia. All of the staff were polite, helpful friendly and above all, genuine. Really nice people. Nic, Alex, thank you and thanks to the wider team. Staff can make or break a holiday. You guys made it. (big thanks from me and Cassandra). Spa. I didn't do the spa side of the resort but the wife indulged. Her thoughts on her first massage were 'that was the best massage I have ever head, period.' - She is one for Spa's and coming from her I was quite surprised. A woman who has travelled extensively for work and pleasure, who has spent a lot of time and money in spas around the world rated the massage in Koia as the best she's ever had. No idea who the lady masseuse was but well done!!! Overall, I can't fault our break at Koia. I wish the whole team the very best and hope that they continue to make it a great place to spend time, unwind and relax. 10/10"
