Hotels in Guandu Ancient Town, Kunming

This hotel is close to Guandu Ancient Town and Darenhui Plaza, and is only a 25-minute drive from Kunming South Railway Station. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. However, I think the restaurant staff needs to improve in some aspects. When we booked a room on trip.com, we did not see the option to choose a room-only room, so we could only choose a plan with breakfast. Breakfast service starts at 7am, but we had a high-speed train at 8:30am on the day of check-out and didn't really have time to sit down for breakfast. We informed the waiter at the restaurant door that we had to catch a bus and hoped to be given a box or bag to pack our breakfast. However, the service staff rejected this request. Due to time constraints, we were unable to engage in further negotiations with her and ultimately had to leave. I often stay in Accor hotels, and they always provide take-away service. Why can't this one in Kunming provide this service? ?

The room is not big but the layout is reasonable. As soon as I stepped into the hotel, I was attracted by its exquisite lobby and its elegant decoration. But the hotel still has advantages: it is close to supermarkets and scenic spots; there are many snack bars around; the parking lot is large, and there is a car repair shop near the hotel, which is suitable for self-driving tourists, and the price-performance ratio is still good.

Hands down, this was the most comfortable and relaxing stay I've ever had. Everything was exquisite, thoughtful, and spotless. Upon arriving in the evening, I was immediately struck by the fresh, natural ambiance and the unique, characterful decor. After checking in, a little robot even delivered some exquisite snacks and drinks, which was such a thoughtful and heartwarming touch. I slept soundly and peacefully, waking up naturally. The nearby food options were fantastic – exactly what I love. Plus, being so close to the subway station made getting around and exploring incredibly convenient. I ended up staying for three consecutive nights and truly enjoyed every moment, feeling completely relaxed and content. This will definitely be my top choice for any future visits!

Good, convenient location: - within 5-8 mins walk to ErJi subway station (Line1), which is just 6 stops from Kunming Railway Station. - hotel occupies the top few floors of an office tower building which is part of the Dadu Motian office-cum-shopping mall. Ie. I could leave my room, head downstairs, walk into the mall, take the elevator up to the cinema on the 6th floor of the mall, and be seated and watching a movie in the cinema within 5 mins (provided you don't get lost inside the mall searching for the cinema, as happened to me during my first few times roaming inside the mall). - a 24hr food street, popular with the locals, is a short 3 mins walk from the mall. - The HUGE GR Shopping Mall complex is also within 15 walks distance. Room was advertised as ”without air-conditioning”... yet I booked it, as I was curious and wanted to experience the effect of Kunming's reputed ”Perpetual Spring” climate in a room without aircon. Room is spacious and has everything expected, except: I can't get any live CCTV news. .. apparently only prerecorded cable news from CCTV2, 3, 5, 6 & 7. Totally NO CCTV1 news, even pre-recorded ones! The elevator reach upto level 15, and my room is located on level 16 (where morning breakfast is served), so I need to climb up/down one level via the staircase. The included breakfast is very typical, local Chinese noodle plus various condiments ... and is only available between 7-9 am. As my departure flight is late at night, I was able to do late checkout for a few hours at ¥20 per hour. 👍🙂

The baby also had space for activities. The breakfast was rich and there was a midnight snack, but we had to go before 10 pm. When checking out, the hotel saw that we were with 2 small children and gave us dolls and snacks. It exceeded many five-star hotels (the hotel does not have a tour group, it is not a local hotel) The check-in experience is better

Hotel location is very good, in the ancient town, very close to the surrounding taxi point, and close to the main street. very quiet. The hotel is newly opened, the decoration is simple and modern, very refreshing. The little brothers and sisters working at the front desk are great! Later, Guandu also chose this one!
