GGuest UserThe hotel boasts an excellent location, standing as a standalone building. There are plenty of shopping options nearby. The front desk is on the 20th floor. On the first floor, they take care of your luggage and deliver it directly to your room. The room isn't huge, but the warm tones make it feel cozy and comfortable. I was very pleased with the numerous complimentary amenities. The mini-bar offers a great variety of drinks, which is a thoughtful touch, and the Dyson hairdryer is very practical and convenient. The gym is a bit on the small side. Breakfast was the most satisfying part – the steak was tender and delicious, comparable to renowned steak houses! There's a wide selection of vegetables, fruits, and mushrooms, offering plenty of healthy choices. Overall, the standard is superb. I absolutely recommend it; personally, I think it's much better than Marriott or InterContinental! It's the top choice when visiting Kaohsiung.

PpohkThis was my third stay at this hotel since its grand opening. I visit Kaohsiung about every six months, and overall the experience has been consistently pleasant. The facilities are well designed and maintained , and the staff are friendly and professional . There was one issue during this stay—the shower drainage was clogged, so I had to use the bathtub instead. This is something that ideally shouldn’t happen at all, but the hotel’s response was okay. They came to fix it next morning as it was late. The soundproofing and AC are excellent. I especially enjoyed the hot spring and the gym, both of which are well equipped and relaxing. I didn’t include the buffet breakfast this time, as I preferred grabbing local drinks, buns, and snacks from the 7‑Eleven or FamilyMart just across the street as well as leaving room for lunch later. The desserts at the lobby café were delightful, and the Japanese restaurant was absolutely divine. It’s just a pity that I didn’t know the omakase needs to be pre-booked. The restaurant doesn’t reserve seats for hotel guests or ask about this in advance, which was a bit disappointing. The set menu was very nice. Overall, it’s still a hotel I enjoy staying.

The metro station is super close, and the Taiwan Railways station is also easily accessible, making it the best choice for exploring Kaohsiung and its surroundings. GGuest UserPAPO’A Harbor Hotel – A Charming Stay by the Harbor in Kaohsiung During our trip to Kaohsiung, we decided to stay at PAPO’A Harbor Hotel, and it turned out to be a great choice for exploring the creative harbor district of the city. The hotel is located just a short walk from Pier-2 Art Center, one of the most vibrant and artistic areas in Kaohsiung. The neighborhood is filled with street art, converted warehouses, cafés, and galleries, making it a perfect place to wander around both during the day and in the evening. Being able to walk back to the hotel after exploring the area was a big plus. One of the things that makes PAPO’A Harbor Hotel unique is its character. The building used to be a harbor staff dormitory and has been thoughtfully renovated into a boutique hotel. The design blends industrial elements with modern minimal touches, giving the space a calm and slightly artistic atmosphere that fits perfectly with the surrounding Pier-2 district. Our room was simple but very comfortable. The bed was cozy, the room was clean, and everything felt well maintained. While the hotel focuses more on design and location than luxury facilities, it provides everything you need for a pleasant stay. Some rooms even offer partial views of the harbor, which adds to the experience of staying in this port city. Another great advantage is transportation. The Light Rail stop is only a few minutes away, making it easy to reach other parts of Kaohsiung such as Love River, Central Park, or connect to the MRT system. Overall, PAPO’A Harbor Hotel is a lovely boutique stay for travelers who appreciate design, convenience, and a relaxed harbor atmosphere. It may not be a large luxury hotel, but its charm, location, and unique character make it a memorable place to stay in Kaohsiung.

DdkworksThe only good thing this hotel offers you is a stunning view of the Kaihsiung skyline, however cleanliness and staff could be improved. The hotel says it is a 5 star hotel, but in fact it only offers 3 star experience; hotel staff looks not welcoming, the rooms are quite outdated, the aircon cannot be switched for heat - it was super cold in the room and they turn the aircon for you before you check in - why? It is 15 degrees outside, why your aircon is at freezing mode?

LluvtravellingThe lobby is well-designed and looked high-class. However, the facilities inside the room are pretty old. The design of the bathroom, especially the toilet doesn't make sense. The drainage system of the bath area is poor. Plus, the breakfast is fair.

DDeanson Lin• **Affordable Price:** A quadruple room during a holiday weekend was around NT$2400, averaging only NT$800 per person. • **Shared Spaces:** There's a common area on the top floor, perfect for a simple meal or relaxation. • **Excellent Location:** Within walking distance to Liuhe Night Market and Love River, ideal for tourists. --- **Recommendations & Notes** • **Best for:** Travelers on a short trip who prioritize convenient transportation and value for money. • **Not suitable for:** Business travelers who require modern facilities or a stable internet connection. • **Dining heads-up:** The hotel doesn't have a restaurant; guests will need to eat out or use the common area for meals. • **Parking:** The hotel doesn't have its own parking lot, so it's advisable to plan parking in advance. --- **Overall Verdict** Kaohsiung Island Tour Hostel is an affordable and conveniently located budget accommodation, suitable for tourists on short stays. Its strengths lie in its location and value for money, while its drawbacks are outdated facilities and an unstable internet connection. If you value transportation and price, it's a good choice; if comfort and reliable amenities are a priority, you might want to consider other hotels.

AAnonymous UserThe combined toilet and shower was a bit inconvenient, but for this area, I think it's a reasonably priced place to stay. It was relatively clean, but the changing room for the public bath had quite a bit of hair accumulated. Compared to Japanese bath facilities, it might feel a bit lacking (no mirrors, no conditioner, high step to enter the bath), but I was grateful to have a public bath. Since there were no mirrors, I tried to look at my reflection in a magic mirror and almost tripped over a step. There are steps in odd places, and the bath entrance is also high; if you trip and hit it, it would hurt. You need to change into slippers when you exit the elevator. The stairs seem to be for staff only. It might be better not to put things on the stairs. Isn't that regulated by fire safety laws?
