The owner is definitely the biggest highlight – so friendly, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. Upon arrival, we were extremely pleased with the hotel's environment. Especially the panoramic views from the third floor – wow, the scenery is absolutely stunning! The location is also excellent, being conveniently close to the ancient city. I truly recommend this place!

Our room was on the top floor, featuring an openable skylight that provided fantastic views. I arrived in the afternoon with some work to catch up on, and the bedside tea table was absolutely perfect for working while enjoying the scenery – a really nice touch! While the skylight's strong UV rays meant it was best kept closed during the day, I imagine opening it at night for stargazing would be amazing. Unfortunately, it rained during my stay, so I just enjoyed watching the rain through it, which was actually quite pleasant. The ancient town is just about a 5-minute walk away, right down the stairs. Overall, I was very satisfied. The room was clean, free of any odors, and the smart toilet was a convenient bonus.

One of My Best Stay Experiences—Authentic & Unforgettable This was one of my most memorable hotel stays, and I’ve stayed at many top-tier, five-star hotels around the world. While this may not be the most luxurious in terms of facilities, it more than makes up for it with its genuine charm and warmth. The owner was incredibly friendly, making us feel like we were staying at a friend’s home rather than a hotel. This welcoming vibe perfectly complements the enchanting atmosphere of this beautiful ancient city.   The views were absolutely breathtaking, especially from our top-floor room. The owner went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience, offering a spectacular panorama of the old town and surrounding mountains. The location is ideal—perched on a small hill, it provides an elevated vantage point for those stunning views, though the short uphill walk may be a slight effort due to the altitude. But trust me, it’s worth it.   If you’re visiting Lijiang to immerse yourself in its relaxed beauty and rich culture, there’s no better place to stay. I originally booked for three nights but quickly realized I’d need more time—next visit, I’m planning a full week to truly unwind and soak it all in. This isn’t a place to rush; it’s a place to slow down, savor the moment, and let the magic of Lijiang embrace you.   I can’t wait to return.

A quiet and charming courtyard with a thoughtful design. The room was spotless. Upon check-in, they thoroughly explained how to use all the amenities. The owner was incredibly warm and friendly, helping us avoid many common tourist traps and recommending great places to visit. Unfortunately, we were too rushed this time to check them out. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The room is well-appointed, comfortable, tidy, and spotlessly clean. It offers panoramic views of the ancient city, with beautiful scenery both day and night. Plus, it's just a ten-minute walk to the ancient city center! The owner is incredibly kind! They provide complimentary airport or train station pick-up for stays of three nights or more, and even recommend delicious, affordable local eateries. Super nice!

Honestly, 'The Street Where the Wind Dwells' B&B is the most comfortable and genuinely hospitable place I've ever stayed in Lijiang! The location is absolutely fantastic! It's nestled in a quiet alley right by the Old Town, just a few minutes' walk to all the lively spots, yet incredibly peaceful at night – you won't hear a peep. The rooms genuinely feel upscale! We booked the 'Stargazer Room', and through its huge glass window, you get panoramic views of the Old Town rooftops. At night, you can even see the stars – enjoying the night view while soaking in the tub was pure bliss. But the absolute highlight was the owner, Brother Ma – he's incredibly warm and genuine! The moment we arrived at the alley entrance, he jogged out from afar to help us with our luggage. As soon as we stepped inside, he offered us tea – not just out of politeness, but he genuinely chatted with us, sharing tips on authentic local restaurants and small pubs with a great vibe. Even when we came back late at night, we'd often find him in the courtyard, chatting and having tea with other guests. It truly felt like coming home to family. On our departure day, he even gave us some of his homemade cherry wine, saying, "Come back next time for another drink, and remember the wind of Lijiang!" His words truly warmed my heart. This B&B offers a much more authentic and enjoyable experience than a typical hotel. If I ever return to Lijiang, I'll definitely be staying at 'The Street Where the Wind Dwells' again!

The room had so much character, and the views were fantastic – perfect for photos! It's super close to the ancient town; just a short downhill walk takes you right to the North Gate, which was incredibly convenient. The butler service was exceptionally warm and welcoming. The front desk was also a lovely spot to relax with a cup of tea and chat. Honestly, it was so comfortable we didn't want to leave!

We chose this accommodation because of the view and it certainly did not disappoint. It’s exactly as pictured. The windows could be folded to the side and the view looks right out of a painting. The room was clean, artfully designed, with a smart toilet. Mr Liu, the owner of the accommodation received us at the road and helped with our luggage. He was warm and friendly, which made our stay very pleasant. We had some queries on ordering food and he rendered assistance immediately. The accommodation is located at the top of a hill, nestled in the residential area. There are some downhill steps leading it, and another set of downhill steps with a ten minutes walk to the old town. The steps were fine for us as we were prepared after reading the reviews. Moreover, Mr Liu helped with our luggage during check in and check out. Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend it to travellers looking for a peaceful stay!
