Hampton by Hilton Locarno

There are a lot of positives about the hotel- useful location, brand new everything, decent rooms, very clean, etc. But the staff! I have never been treated so rudely in my life in any hotel (as a HH Diamond member, on top of it) and the duty manager, who is actually not even on duty but at home, has zero interest in the running of the hotel. (This was simply to ask a question about laundry service!) Reported to Hilton corporate and also the franchise holder- the other staff and the hotel itself deserves decent human beings, if not professionals, to be in charge. Hopefully soon that will change and the current 'team' thrown out.

Hotel is clearly new, location is good as a stop over, lady on reception was rude, rooms to hot and I’m not sure where everyone came from for breakfast as we didn’t see or hear anyone in the hotel at all, however in the morning the breakfast was absolutely rammed, which was very odd, also limited menu and overpriced, we asked for an email receipt and 3 days later we still don’t have it, again lovely clean hotel but falls down on to many things.

I stayed with some friends for one night recently. Hotel is pretty much brand new, and in a great location. Room far too hot (24.5C), and when I discussed with the manager, I was essentially ignored. First I was told to turn it down and give it some time. I was promised it would cool down. When it inevitably didn’t, I went back down. Same member of staff then changed the story and said the aircon was off because it was ‘too expensive’. Either way, it felt like the problem wasn’t taken seriously. I was advised to open the window….. that worked temporarily, but the room heated back up through the night to 24C. Nice hotel, but they need to sort the aircon, and also the member of staff that isn’t fussed about taking guest complaints seriously.
