"It's very beautiful. The owner and the front desk lady are very nice. They picked us up and helped with our luggage up and down the stairs, and even gave us directions to each location. The amenities are all disposable, which I really like. I don't like towels that aren't changed. The wood creaks a bit, but that's unavoidable. Free earplugs are provided. The shower can be a bit hot, and the temperature is difficult to adjust. It's very close to the Drum Tower, making it very convenient for taking photos. It's right outside the door."

"The photos taken at check-out show the room looking a bit messy, but it was clean and tidy upon check-in. The toilet and wastebasket are sensor-operated; there are plastic and disposable slippers in the room; there's a separate clothes rack, which is very convenient for hanging clothes to dry—some hotels use wall hooks, which are inconvenient; the air conditioning is also very powerful—I went during the Spring Festival, and it was more than enough; the bathroom is spacious enough to fit a large bathtub for children; the option to pick up and drop off at the high-speed rail station is a thoughtful touch, saving a lot of hassle; the owner is very nice; I recommend it to everyone."

"Choosing this guesthouse during my trip to Zhaoxing Dong Village was definitely a great experience. The most convenient part was the free shuttle service from the high-speed rail station. The owner confirmed the time with us beforehand, and we saw her waiting as soon as we exited the station. She also helped us with our luggage the whole time and patiently explained some tips for exploring the Dong village – so thoughtful! The guesthouse was conveniently located, not far from the main street. The owner was always available by phone, and the place was quiet at night. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the bedding was great. The owner even gave us some fresh, sweet bayberries from her own orchard. There was absolutely no commercialized atmosphere; it felt like visiting relatives. This was the most comfortable stay of my trip. Great value for money, and the service was genuine. Anyone visiting Zhaoxing Dong Village can definitely check it out!"

"A perfect weekend getaway from the bustling city. Tucked away in the mountainous countryside of Guizhou, Zhaoxing Dong Ethnic Minority Village in only three hour ride via high speed train from Guangzhou. The village is quite developed, offering shuttle service to and from the railway station for 10RMB each way. You can also arrange a private ride for 50RMB into the village. The village entrance fee allows 6 days of access into the village for 80RMB. I chose to stay at the Comfort Zhaoxing Inn next to the canola fields, away from the main attractions for a quieter stay. I can see swallows swooping, bugs chirping, and frogs croaking in the fields. My room has floor to ceiling windows offering great views of the mountains, fields, and rice terraces. Remote villages in the mountains are also visible. The inn is ran by a friendly couple. They offer sumptuous breakfast with generous portions. They picked up and assisted with my luggage at the village shuttle station. The village itself is for pedestrian only. They offer complimentary shuttle services every 15-20 minutes that makes various stops if you don’t feel like walking. It was relaxing to stroll along the river and around the village. Instead of taking a shuttle (20RMB round trip) to the rice terraces of TangAn Village, I took the trail that the locals used for centuries before shuttles were available. The trail was paved, crossing creeks, winding through the mountains and rice fields for 7.5km with an elevation gain of about 1,000 meters. The views were spectacular and the food were amazingly delicious and very affordable. I used Zhaoxing Village as a hub for accessing other remote villages. Shuttle buses offering two departures to Huanggang, Basha ethic villages (about an hour ride). Though if there is not enough passengers, they may cancel the service. My stay was memorable, and I plan to go back when the canola flowers are blooming."
