Would be nice to have tea & coffee facilities in the room. Well that’s it, the worst part over. My NEW husband & I celebrated our marriage that day at the Crazy Bear with our 2 best friends (witnesses ). Having read the reviews I was a quite worried, but we had the best time. Decor is quirky and opulently OTT but you know that if you visit the web site and it amused us. We dined in the English Restaurant, the food was fabulous and no complaints with the service. Every member of staff was pleasant, helpful and attentive. Makes you wonder what the people are like that complain!? It is expensive, and that May set expectations for some extremely high, but you can stay in a travel lodge if you’d rather. It was a special day for us and our stay at the Crqzy Bear Beaconsfield helped make it more special. Thanks Crazy Bear.

Booked for my husbands birthday the hotel is extraordinary and a lot of hard work and money has gone into it, it is just a shame it was let down by the cleanliness cob webs and dusty room,if your going to have mirrors everywhere they need to be cleaned, no complimentary kettle or condiments in our room so not able to wake up and have a coffee. (The only hotel I’ve ever been in that doesn’t have a kettle in the room!) brought a package deal and didn't get the champagne and when asked at the Thai restaurants they said we should have received on arrival and we couldn’t have with dinner. Received starter before drinks, then just as we finished dinner the waitress said we need to leave due to table booked, we were in and out within 1 hour. The price of drinks in hotel was very expensive however delicious. We were in suite 48 and no where for us ladies to get ready requires a dressing table in the room as big enough. Also no toilet door in room only a curtain which was beautiful but not ideal if your husband wants to have a morning poop. Tables service terrible, cold coffee served, the bacon was like plastic. Seemed like hotel was run by young inexperienced staff with no guidance. We did have a lovely stay it just a shame that these few things let it down. Probably wouldn’t go back as we travelled quite far and was disappointed. If you have a special occasion don’t bother telling them in the booking as they don’t acknowledge it .

Great place and very quirky. Drinks a little pricy and service on top. Enjoyed our stay and a place you have to go to once. Bought a voucher for meal and upgraded to a stay. Didn’t realise the meal was down the road so glad we upgraded. Lovely outside area

The bling and quirkiness seem enough to keep this place in business, but take the wrapping off and we found the rudest staff we have ever encountered. Finding issues with our room we informed reception immediately to which we were not listened to at all and just informed we should seek out the general manager. When eventually speaking with the manager, instead of listening to us and trying to solve our issue, we were instead immediately reminded that our room was a non cancellation and it was basically take it or leave it. We at this point had already decided to leave and booked a far better hotel in Marlow. However as we had both paid for breakfast I asked as a good will gesture that at least the cost of breakfast could be refunded as we would not be here to eat. Again this was denied. We were instructed to write to the director of Crazy bear, and of course, nearly a year on have still never had the courtesy of a reply. Shocking hotel, rude reception staff and poor management. Avoid at all cost.

Stayed for one night, was slightly concerned after reading some of the negative reviews however those reviews did not represent our experience at all. Reception staff, bar staff and restaurant staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The room was as advertised, nice bath, big tv, lovely shower and comfortable bed. Yes it was dark but didn’t cause any major issues. If I had to be picky, the blinds could do with a dust but I wasn’t put off by it! We had a 3 course meal in the English restaurant and it was very tasty. I saw some complaints about the continental breakfast being “just a slice of toast or a pastry” this is not accurate…. You can have toast, mine was on rustic seeded bread, you can also have a pasty with it, or cereal or a very big fruit selection or all of the above together. It is much more than just toast or a pastry. The atmosphere in the bar and lounge area was very relaxed and just what we were looking for. Yes the drinks are expensive and yes there is a service charge on everything but you can ask for this to be removed. We didn’t because the staff were great and very deserving. All in all, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely like to visit again.

Received a call a couple of hours prior to arrival telling us there was no parking available on site and we needed to park at the local cricket club. Arrived at the club in the midst of cricket training and told to park next to the pitch (amid flying cricket balls) and walk the half mile to the hotel on the hottest day of the year so far dragging suitcases. Arrived at the hotel (hot and bothered after the trek across town) expecting a welcome glass of champagne but were welcomed with nothing other than the receptionist complaining to us that she’d also had to park offsite, and walk across town and wasn’t happy with the situation. Checked in, had card debited for £150 ‘just in case’ and followed the receptionist to our room carrying our suitcases. Room was just outside main hotel across a pebbled driveway. On entering the building I was surprised how dark it was; the staircase in front of us was carpeted in black and some of the step lights were not working so made the black carpet in a dark building impossible to see. I had to use the torch on my phone to ensure I didn’t miss any steps. Room as expected apart from the fact that the bathroom didn’t have a door, just a curtain so very little privacy available. Air con worked well and room was cool. Something in the ceiling was dripping (not the over bath tap), so we had to put down the bath mat on the floor to contain the water on the non carpeted slippery floor. The bar is a bit odd…. The staff didn’t acknowledge us for some minutes, so we went to the bar to be told in no uncertain terms it was table service. Drink order taken and delivered followed promptly by a member of staff with a card machine wanting payment immediately having of course added a 15% service charge. I really didn’t like this…. You’ve made a guest prepay £150, yet I cannot charge a drink to my room, nor even open a tab. Dinner in the English restaurant was ok, we had a package that included a limited menu and by the time we’d added the necessary extras (a potato and veg) to the all ready paid for main course we could have paid for another decent meal elsewhere. Breakfast not great, as others have said it’s limited to continental or an additional £20 for a hot offering. Another trek across town dragging suitcases revealed my car which was still thankfully in one piece and without any cricket ball shaped holes. Overall is very expensive and the service and quality just don’t stand up to the inflated prices. Undoubtedly a great place to take photographs, but since I’m not an influencer, i’m looking for genuine 5 star luxury which unfortunately is not present at this hotel

Quirky hotel in a great location in the centre of Beaconsfield but greatly lacking in service. Reception and checking in is very slow. They take an extra £150 on your credit card for hotel extras but then don’t allow you to add any as the IT system isn’t set up for them!? (They then tell you it will take 5 days for this amount to be recredited). I wasn’t keen on the very small, dark bedroom and the bathroom was tiny with just a fabric curtain dividing it from the bedroom. The worst part was breakfast. We ordered Greek yogurt and a bear breakfast bun, after 45 minutes of waiting (and people who arrived 15 mins after us receiving their food), there was still no sign of ours. We said we were leaving and the server said they were short staffed and she could ring her manager - not sure how that would help at this stage?? Lots of other people were waiting a long time with no food also. If they were short staffed why didn’t they explain this at the outset and offer just continental breakfasts instead of letting the restaurant fill, taking orders and not delivering them in a reasonable timescale. Don’t usually complain but this was well below par with no apologies and not acceptable considering the £360 room price tag (not including breakfast)!

So utterly disappointed. Regulars at their Stadhampton venue. So really excited to see the "Flagship ". On arrival met by sullen unresponsive counter staff . Finally having checked in and still with our bags ,we were offered our " complimentary drink . On saying not sure we were able to carry those and our bags . The reception staff said they would accompany us to our room . 1st non informed fact . We exited the hotel walked through the street across a road and into another building . As usual quirky room not big but furnished in stylish if slightly faded exuberant manner. . TV controls ,door entry not explained. Water but no hot drink making facilities in room . Getting a hot drink requires a walk back to main hotel . However during daytime there is a delightful little coffee shop on the route back . After that we settled in to our room ,which on further exploration was found not to be as meticulously clean as we are used to at Stadhampton. However we overlooked that in favour of enjoying the spectacle of the room . To the pool for pre dinner drinks . Warm sunny day sat around the pool enjoying the ambience of the Moroccan tents tables and chairs to be approached by another sullen unwelcoming member of staff for a drinks order . The drinks are expensive but to be expected for the surroundings two drinks each down and 60 mins later we left the pool area . This was after twice receiving the wrong drinks, whisky instead of liqueur, beer instead of lager this then meant I had to walk to bar to change drinks together with more sullen faces . Booking to room number would also reduce annoyance at being almost harassment attitude for instant payment..Pool left changed for dinner walk around surroundings prior to dinner was pleasant, Church bells ringing warm evening pre dinner drinks left us in anticipation of our Thai dinner, after all Stadhampton Thai restaurant is a gastronomic heaven staffed by exuberant caring interactive staff making the experience a true delight. Whoa !!!! different world greeted without a smile to be told our table would be ours for a limited period . Rushed for a full order ie stater ,main, dessert. We duly agreed service was in its way very good FOR THEM. Barely finished a course when another put in front of us . Food quality was good ,tasty and subtlely flavoursome. Felt we had lost some of our dining adventure to a ticking clock . More after dinner drinks in hotel bar same uncaring attitude which led us to leave and drink in a local bar which was ok for them but lost revenue for the hotel we were staying in and also a first for us . Never have I left a hotel to drink somewhere else because of poor service . Of to bed around 1130 ,air-conditioning noisy but worked well as windows didn't seem to open, slept well after said air-conditioning turned off looking forward to breakfast and perhaps a pool dip . Woken around 830 washed and facilities used all satisfactory we went on the hike across a bu

Where to start ? I had looked forward to trying this hotel for many years but it was so disappointing and would not go back …. The service is terrible , repeatedly having to ask for drinks or things they have forgotten to bring . Not allowed a tab so have to pay everything as you go , inconvenient but then when you complain on checkout you have already paid and therefore they are quids in . Bath filled from ceiling which is a novelty until you realise it drips on you constantly and then drips all night . Dirty bath robes . English restaurant was so average and really nothing special , certainly doesn’t reflect the price of the rooms . Really wouldn’t bother wasting your time or money
