Our 2nd visit to Vangelis, having stayed in the summer of 2022, and another very enjoyable vacation We stayed for 11 nights, which overlapped the half term, on the all inclusive offering. In terms of the hotel, its lovely. Very well run, clean, and the staff very friendly and attentive. Our accommodation was lovely. A large suite on the ground floor, consisting of a separate double bedroom, lounge area with two sofa beds, and bathroom. Balcony looking out across to the pool bar. The room was at the back of block A, and we were not affected by the entertainment area situated outside the front of the building. The hotel is in a perfect location, based on a side street off the main bar/restaurant *****. The beautiful Fig Tree Bay beach is a short walk (5-10 mins) away. The vast array of food options in the Venus restaurant, unless you are unrealistically fussy, there is something for everyone. The only minor issue we experienced was some foods could have been a bit warmer.. Baked Beans and Porridge at breakfast where usually cold by the time you got back to your table. Again a very minor issue, in my opinion, the food is otherwise excellent. Main family pool area is great - large pool which is generally on the shallow side for most of the pool. Pool bar is nicely shaded with lots of tables and chairs for those wanting to take a break from the sun. In terms of sun loungers, there are many however, the usual 'holiday greed' of those feeling entitled to the same spot each became more apparent with each passing day. Sadly, this meant that we also had to take the 'if you cant beat them, join them' approach. For example, for the first 4 days, no problem going out at 8-8:30am and claiming a spot, but as the days passed, you would do well to get a 'half decent' unshaded spot after 6:30am. Not a fault with the hotel, but more the people frequenting. I know this happens everywhere, but its a shame we have to do this. However, it would be nice if the hotel followed the rules they list signposted around by removing towels not in use for many hours. One disappointment. On our final day our daughter was stung by a bee. As you can imagine, she was very distressed, and naturally we ran her to reception to see if they had a first aider or on site nurse that could provide some cream. The reception team were fast to respond and we were told someone was coming. Sadly we discovered it was not a first aider or on site nurse, instead an ambulance arrived with a doctor. A very nice man, he examined my daughter and wrote a prescription for cream and antihistamines (over the counter remedies) and then we were charged 100 Euros for the visit. I still had to visit the pharmacy and pay for the prescription items. In this situation, I felt the hotel could have made it clear to me who was coming to visit us and that there would be a charge for this - unfortunately our insurance excess of £100 cancelled out the cost, so no point claiming back. Again, it would have been n
