Returning for our 6th holiday to SCC ,staff welcomed us back like family ,and the usual cold flannel and rum punch was waiting for us .We were upgraded to a sea view suite Thank you Sugarcane Club. Suites r large , clean and comfortable over looking the immaculate and beautiful gardens ,well done Kevin and Lavel and co .Food was excellent ,we ate at both restaurants and 3 nights a week bbq with live music by the pool amazing. We did the new complementary trip to a craft market near by ,lovely shops and place to eat and drink. The complementary boat trip to snorkle and swim with turtles ,fish and rays just amazing .Shuttle takes you to the beach and Speightstown during the day .The nature at SCC is wonderful, you will see hummingbirds, geckos, green monkeys and whistling frogs .The staff are truly amazing at SCC, every single one ,nothing is too much trouble .Thank you especially to the Manager , Sharon ,Michelle, Kim, Gregory, Ryan ,Rashidi ,and Tamisha . Barbados is a beautiful island , you can hire a car or take buses to get around .SCC is truly paradise and Barbados is our happy place ,thank u , and hopefully see you next year .

The hotel is set in the most wonderful peaceful location which just adds to the away from it all feel. I came away feeling fully relaxed. Surrounded by beautiful, well maintained gardens and with plenty of wildlife the Garden Suites are large, bright and airy. The daily shuttle bus take minutes to get to Speightstown and buses enable you to get out and about and explore Barbados at it's best . Alternatively you could hire a car for a couple of days and do so at your own pace. Apart from one less than friendly member of bar staff who didn't appear to want to be there and one quite stern receptionist the staff are absolutely amazing: namely Paulette, Kim, Kareen, Michelle, Rashidi, Nikita, Leo, Tamisha, Mitilene and her wonderful housekeeping staff and Tremayne and Nicholas the shuttle drivers. Not forgetting April who gives the most amazing massages and Luvall who brings you fresh coconuts. They all went out of their way to ensure that you had the best time possible. I would return in a heartbeat.

Visited in March for the first time, had a garden view room which was spacious and clean. Found the whole resort to be a beautiful oasis, staff very friendly and helpful, Special mention to Rashidi, Gregory and Sharon as they were always cheerful and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Great food at all times, bbq chicken by the pool was amazing. Great to see the Green Monkeys walking through the woods. Didn’t give it 5 stars as we had no hot water to shower with for last 2 days and although we could use another room to go and shower, they never offered a room exchange.

Lovely, very laid back hotel. Aimed at the more senior visitor. A bit too quiet for us but the staff were so friendly! Definitely advise you do the free turtle and shipwreck glass bottomed boat. If you do the 10am one you are absolutely guaranteed to see and be able to touch the turtles. Amazing experience!! Harrison’s cave is a good visit too.

This is by no means a negative review. This is a great hotel in a great location with well tendered grounds. Great food and drinks and most importantly great staff. After a long journey we were met by familiar faces with a cold flannel and more importantly the famous rum punch. This is our 5th visit and did seem to lack the WOW factor we have previously experienced. Think being returning guests you are always comparing previous visits. Just a few things that ******d us this year. On occasions we repeatedly had to reorder tea and coffee at breakfast and again wine at lunch and dinner. One morning breakfast was like a 80’s karaoke and we had to request the volume was reduced so we could have a conversation. Sugar cane relies on its staff to continue the family feel we have come to enjoy, unfortunately some new staff seem to see this as more of a job and not about the customer experience. These are my views and others returnees and new guests may think differently. Shout out to Tameisha, Gregory, Rishidi and Rosedhi who went above and beyond and also Pool guy Kevin who made sure or sun beds were in place! Rooms were serviced daily with towels changed every two days and bedding on the 3rd Food was again a mix of a la carte and buffet for evening dinner. Menu for lunch with the occasional option of a barbecue. Breakfast was also buffet style. I do not rule out a return to this hotel as it has become our happy place but think a break is in order next year.

Just returned (11th May) from 12 day stay at this wonderful resort. It was our 3rd trip and our friend’s 4th, so this should tell you how highly we rate the resort. Another great stay, helped by the very friendly staff especially, Gregory, David, Nikita and Rashadi to name a few. A must visit resort if you want a quiet relaxing holiday

Very quiet and peaceful hotel who accepted the excesses of our large group without blinking an eyelid! Very lovely staff right from front desk to everyone in the restaurant. Shout out to my girl Kim, kudos to Gregory and Ricardo and a big thank you to Mitlene(hope I spelt that right). You all ensured our reunion was a blast! Yes, the hotel is off the beaten path and a distance from the airport (which is actually fantastic if you're looking for a bit of peace and quiet) but in terms of value for money, you couldn't get much better!

We have just returned from a lovely week at this hotel. Please do your research we booked it after a busy week on a cruise, as a week to chill it ticked every box. We were met on arrival and given a drink and cool towel, then shown to our lovely cool room. The complex is immaculate and enjoyed sat on our balcony watching the monkeys, hummingbirds. Food was amazing but it was the staff that made this hotel special mentions to Kim, Sheena and Tamesha and Rushidi who made the best cocktails…. And the fabulous Nikita…. What a lady the biggest smile and what a voice! The free trip on glass bottom boat to see turtles was great real highlight. If you are looking for a quiet hotel, they have singers 3 times a week, with great food, it’s easy to get out and about, shuttle will take you to beaches and also to local bus station… get on the reggae bus we did great fun!

The Sugar Cane Club is not for everyone, but if you desire an Adults Only ( 60+ mostly from Great Britain) All Inclusive - this is the place! After a 45 minute drive to the resort we were greeted with a cool drink & warm hand towel. Our ground level Garden View Suite was private, clean & the perfect location, We were surrounded by lush jungle & tropical flowers. Only sounds heard from our patio were cooing doves. We saw humming birds, tiny frogs & adorable geckos, & no bugs. The elusive green monkeys were fun to watch as they frolicked in the trees at dusk. The lovely pool was never crowded with plenty of shady spots to relax & Rashidi at the bar always greeted with a big smile. A limited barbecue was available for lunch but we chose to eat at the charming open air restaurant overlooking the pool. Breakfast was buffet style with lunch & dinner serving a 3 course a’la carte variety of Caribbean specialties which we enjoyed. As mentioned in previous reviews the service was slow & sometimes forgetful. Only tea & coffee were available all day with a variety of finger sandwiches & cookies put out at 4:00 tea time. There was a poolside barbecue one night and 2 special outdoor buffets all with local talented singers. Both Michelle & Karina at the desk were friendly & answered all my many questions. We took advantage of the complimentary glass bottom boat ride to see the turtles which was a lot of fun. (Be forewarned the Sugar Cane is a laid back resort with no loud music, organized activities or rude vacationers.) We plan on returning in the near future.
