This lodge is extremely disappointing and is 100% capitalising on the remoteness and lack of alternate accomodation. Totally recognising that costs are higher in the outback due to remoteness, this lodge takes it to the next level of rip offs. At $340 for one night in a double room, we expected something decent for the $ paid. Its standard is comparable with a very low budget motel room and the customer service is a sham. The appalling customer service from the duty manager, was deceitful. Our room had a huge section of the window fly screen missing, a gapping hole that was long and wide, consequently there was no option of an open window due to insects and we preferred not to have the old and dirty A/C running. We immediately after checkin around 3pm, asked reception if there was another room, and were told that they were fully booked but they would send the maintenance man to repair the hole. This was very circumspect due to the size of the hole, as the screen would need entire new mesh and why was it not reported by housekeeping before?. We waited over an hour, no maintenance man, so we called reception again and was told he was busy but would attend. It was now after 5pm and we really felt as though they were just trying to pacify us. After 6pm we went to reception, to ask again and were told that the maintenance man was busy with the coaches that had arrived. We had seen them arrive and unpack, and the coaches pull out. Therefore we explained this and again was told that he would come. No one arrived to fix the screen, not surprisingly and upon check out we followed up and was advised the maintenance man attended our room but we were not there!!!! There is no where to go, other than the lodge and we would have been having dinner after waiting around for hours. No note left, no advise to us. Although this seems a sad little complaint, we feel as though we had been deliberately lied to. Coupled with the endless dripping shower, the not very clean bathroom and sad state of the very small room at $340. It was a total rip off, with it's over-inflated room and restaurant prices. Try to avoid staying at this lodge if possible

Had a powered site overnight. Asked for a drive-through so we didn’t have to unhitch, charged us an extra $10, disgraceful, especially when the site was still covered in silt from a flood well past. The amenities were filthy, no hot water when you showered and no liquid soap to clean your hands after using the toilets (unacceptable these days). Charged us $68 for the night, clearly overpriced, suggest they charge according to what is provided instead of ripping off the traveller. To rub salt into the wound, they charged $17.40 for a can of beer and a coke. Won’t ever happen again!!!

Thank you room service for room 42 cleaning on the 18/1/24, for protecting valuables. I left my wallet, ID, cash and card out and everything was secure. Great job, cheers, Adrian Rebeiro PS microwave was a bit high to reach and jug leaked 😊👍

when we arrived on friday december 8th According to the gentlement at the desk, there as still 1 room available because we had of c ourse made a booking. It was of course the most expensive 2 bedroom room! But we only had 1 double bed. And I had to clean the mirror in the bathroom before I could get in myself to see. When we left we saw that outside 1 room on that corridor the rest was still available. I think 329 aus dollars is a lot for what you get in return. And especially lying to the tourists! I think that's really terrible! We have already traveled to Australia for more than 12 times but we have never experienced anything like this.

The place is not obvious, only a very small sign by the roadside, perhaps due to the construction work on the new bridge next door. As a result the place was full of construction workers. The staff were friendly. The bar and restaurant were good. The room was old fashioned, a bit musty, and the aircon needed servicing or replacing. However, not sure there is anywhere better to stay in the area.

I have nothing positive to say about our stay here. From the confusion of finding the temporary entrance, we were directed to powered sites, we were 3 caravans travelling together, only to find that there was no power. So we all had to move and test the post for power until we found working ones. The amenities were a disgrace, clearly they have not had a proper clean in some time. The washing machines had a weird smell. We chose not to use the facilities. The construction goes 24/7, right next door to the park, so good luck getting any sleep. We paid top dollar to stay in the poorest run park we have experienced. I am on my second lap around Oz and a free camp offers more than this place. Floods are devastating. I come from a flood ravaged region, and the recovery can be very slow, but there is no excuse for not cleaning, particularly when you are charging exorbitant prices. Also, a bit of communication would be nice. I phoned the Lodge days before our arrival and was not given prior warning about the conditions. Don't stay here if you can avoid it.

Given how famous this place has become over the years, especially given the issues with the next door bridge, we eagerly made haste to get here (as you cannot book camping/caravan sites). Our first annoyance was at the terribly small road signage outside to direct people into the temporary entry point. (Do they not know Google adds an hour detour to enter from the wrong side?) the bridge has been out since Jan - more would be better. The same inside, no signage to direct you to reception, as it’s all facing the wrong way. Enjoy the many trailer caravans trying to reverse down the hill! I know a lot of it was under water, but the quality of the site is poor with cow poo everywhere and horrid facilities in the loos and showers. We literally didn’t use them at all for fear of catching something. Considering its location and status, I expected more! Finally, the diggers and construction work continues 24/7 regardless of who’s sleeping nearby. Enjoy!

Booked and paid a room for 2 adults and 2 kids months in advance, upon arrival asked if a room with a queen and a single would be suitable, despite 4 of us standing at the counter. No refund available, and stung us an extra $50 for a rollaway bed. Food at restaurant was good, but no tap beer and luke warm choices from the fridge. AC in the room reduced temperature from the ambient 39 degrees to about 32 degrees, simply not good enough for somewhere that charges top dollar.

Our Trip was booked months in advance. The payment was taken out 1 day prior to staying. In arrival there appeared to be some confusion. We booked for 2 adults and 2 children. The comments on the booking were 1 double and 2 singles if possible just so our kids didn’t have to sleep in the same bed. We were told that there were only 3 beds in the room and asked if that would be suitable! This wasn’t suitable so we were asked to pay $50 extra for a rollaway bed to be added to the room. When we objected and showed our booking and comments she offered to speak to the Manager whom hid out the back and let his team sort it out, GREAT LEADERSHIP! The conclusion was that they knew were had no other option but to pay the extra $50 with no where else to go and no refunds were on offer. It was explained to us that it is a booking system making the booking, not a human so no point of a comments section. Pathetic Management
