From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I could tell you that the floors in the public areas were pristine, without a speck of dust or debris. The front desk counter was also immaculately tidy, creating a comfortable first impression. Entering the room was even more surprising. The sheets and duvet covers were clearly freshly changed, with a light scent of laundry detergent, and felt dry and smooth, with no wrinkles or stains at all. Details like the tabletops, windowsills, and bedside tables were also meticulously wiped clean, even corners, where dust easily accumulates. It's clear the cleaning staff is thorough, and I felt incredibly reassured. Then there's the price. For a hotel located near North Bund and so close to the Red House Hospital, it offers excellent value for money. Compared to other hotels in the same area, Zhishang's prices are significantly more affordable. For someone like me who's just looking for a quick, budget-friendly place to stay, it's a great option. It's within my budget, which is a real plus. However, the most frustrating aspect of my stay was the bathroom. First, the space was incredibly cramped. Once inside, I had to be extremely careful to turn around, fearing I'd bump into the sink or the wall. Even a suitcase felt cramped, let alone trying to move around. Staying there for extended periods of time was incredibly stressful. Even worse was the clogged toilet drain. I didn't notice it at first, but later I realized the water wouldn't flow at all. When I showered, the water accumulated up to my ankles. After using the toilet, I had to wait ages to flush, and the dirty water seeped down. It was incredibly uncomfortable. I was already exhausted after the day, and the thought of a comfortable shower or toilet became a distant dream, instantly taking a turn for the worse. Although I contacted the front desk and they addressed the issue, the results were far from satisfactory and the problem wasn't completely resolved. This bathroom issue significantly marred my entire stay. Overall, the Zhishang Hotel (Shanghai North Bund Red House Hospital Branch) offers advantages in terms of cleanliness and affordability, but the bathroom issue significantly detracted from the experience. If the bathroom space could be slightly improved and the clogged drain issue fully resolved, I believe it would be a more recommended option. This stay was barely acceptable. I hope the hotel will address these issues and make improvements.
