Had a fantastic stay! The room was spotless, and the bedding was super comfy. The owners were incredibly friendly and responsive. The location was convenient, and it was really quiet at night, making for a very relaxing experience overall. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in town. Highly recommend!

On my way back, I returned to Yuezhu Yishan. It's close to the ancient city, which is convenient after a long day of sightseeing. The bedding was just right – not too soft, not too firm – ensuring a good night's sleep. Every corner was spotless, and all the necessities were provided. The concierge was as attentive and thoughtful as ever, helping with our luggage. It felt just like coming home. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The breakfast with minced pork rice noodles was delicious! The owner, a retired serviceman, was incredibly kind and provided excellent service. The room had a beautiful view, facing Cangshan Mountain and backing onto Erhai Lake, and it was very spacious. Great value for money! The only downside is that the soundproofing isn't great; even with the windows closed during the day, you can still hear the music from Sanyue Street. Also, the walk from the guesthouse to the main road is a few hundred meters down a very dark alley, which can be a bit spooky at night if you're alone.

Because of the internal friction and pressure in the workplace, I chose to travel to Dali. On the first day, I stayed in another B&B booked on Ctrip for one night. It was very noisy and the hygiene was poor, so I changed. On the second day, I searched for B&Bs in Cai Village that were close to Erhai Lake but not facing the sea (facing the sea would be noisy) on Baidu Maps. Then I went to Ctrip to check the phone numbers and called them one by one. I looked at several B&Bs and the hygiene was not good. Finally, when I was about to give up, I finally arrived at Blue Sea Whisper: 1. Travel: The B&B is located in Cai Village. The B&B is a 1-minute walk to Erhai Lake. You can ride an electric car for more than 20 minutes to check in at Xindi Coffee and Longkan Wharf in the Erhai Ecological Corridor. It is a 3-minute walk from Cai Village CBD. It is very good to see the sea and eat. Very convenient. By the way, I strongly recommend bean curd rice noodles. 2. Environment: It is close to Erhai Lake but not the closest to it, so it is very quiet. The yard is very tidy, the room is very clean and new, and the sunlight is very comfortable. There is a terrace leisure area on the third floor, and you can also watch the sunrise and sunset on the roof. 3. The owner of the homestay is a super gentle and kind lady. On the first day, she recommended a route according to my schedule, took me out on an electric car, saw that I didn’t go out to play, brought me fruit to eat, invited me to eat with their family, etc., which made me feel great kindness and warmth on this trip. I sincerely recommend that if you travel for a long time or stay for a stay, you must go to the site to see the homestay before booking. Some are really scams. I strongly recommend this homestay. Next time I come to Dali, I will stay here again. It is very comfortable and really healed my mental exhaustion.

I was initially worried about there being no elevator, but the owner kindly helped carry my luggage upstairs, and also helped again when I checked out. The guest room's cleanliness and attention to detail were excellent, with all amenities provided and tidy. The owner's service was thoughtful and attentive, and responses were very quick. The room's soundproofing was reliable, so there was no disruptive noise, and the location was easy to find. It offers great value for money. They even gave us a guide and travel tips, helping us avoid common pitfalls. Plus, the electric scooters were free to use, saving us taxi fares. This guesthouse is definitely worth recommending! This homestay feels like it is run by a friendly local aunty and her son, which gives the place a warm and personal touch. Check-in was easy and smooth. Do note that there is no escalator, so if you are carrying big luggage, it may be a little inconvenient. We stayed on the 3rd floor, but luckily the aunty’s son helped us carry our luggage up, which we really appreciated as we were all girls. The location is quite convenient as it is inside Dali Ancient Town. If taking Didi, you may need to get off near Luckin Coffee and walk in for around 3 minutes, since cars may not be able to stop right at the homestay. The room was clean, and the bed came with a heater, which was very useful. However, the room was quite small for 4 people, so it may feel a little tight if everyone has big luggage. But considering it is a budget stay, I think it is still acceptable and good value for the price. One bonus point is that they provide Yunnan-style scarves to borrow, so we didn’t need to buy one just for photos. The aunty was also very friendly and would greet us every night when we came back, sometimes asking about our day. It was sweet, though as introverts, we sometimes just wanted to quietly go back to our room after a long day. But this really depends on personal preference - some travellers may find it very warm and welcoming. Overall, it is a simple, clean and budget-friendly homestay with a good location and kind hosts. Suitable for travellers who don’t mind stairs and prefer a local, homely stay experience.

I'm a local and I stayed at Sanniu Island with my child during the off-season. This hotel offers great value for money and allows you to enjoy the lifestyle around Xindi Cafe. Compared to similar hotels, it's quite affordable. It's separated from Erhai Lake only by a lush, flowering green belt, so there's no noise from crowded corridors!

The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly. They give valuable information to assist in planning our tours, places to eat. For those first timer, this is the easiest way to get from the Dali Railway Station to the hotel: Exit the train station and keep to your right (don’t have to cross the road now). Just walk along the the road for 200 meters. Cross the road at zebra crossing. Hotel is right infront.

Upon checked in to my room, I noticed that the lock of the bathroom (inside the room) is broken and that means the door can't be closed at all. With six people sharing the room, I was uncomfortable doing my business/taking a shower without the needed privacy. The light in my bed was also broken. I asked for a different room but the reception said there was no other room available, so they let me moved to another bed with a functional light in the same room instead.Thanks for that. As for the toilet, I had to go to the backyard and use the common one. But that's ok. The lobby area is very messy full of people's personal stuff, so it looks nothing like the advertised photos. They offer free laundry which is appreciated but the clothes hanging area was next to the cats house and the house blows the air smell of cat poops directly to the area. This makes the whole area as well as the clothes smelly. Overall the place has great potential. It just needs some minor repairs and regular cleaning and organising.

The rooms weren't large but were clean, with modern amenities. It's located right on the main road of Dali Ancient City. I stayed on the ground floor, but the views from the rooms upstairs were quite beautiful. There are some peach trees in front of the house; if you go during the flowering season, you'll be amazed. Before going, I checked the map and thought it was on a main road, so I assumed a car would be able to pick me up right away. But upon arrival, I learned that cars are only allowed in at night; in the morning, cars are prohibited, only motorbikes and bicycles are allowed. So every time I needed to go somewhere, I had to walk to the main road, which was a bit inconvenient – ​​this is the biggest drawback you should consider. On the other hand, the owner was quite enthusiastic; I checked in at 1 AM and he waited until he fell asleep, making me think I was being locked out!
