GGuest UserThis hotel offers incredible value for money, probably because consumer prices in Datong are generally low. The rooms are spacious, the decor is modern, the service is excellent, and the breakfast is fantastic. They offer a great mix of Chinese and Western options, with a few dishes changing daily, plus freshly made noodles and rice vermicelli bowls that are all delicious. It's also very close to Datong South Station, about a 15-minute walk, making it convenient for catching a train to Yixian to see the Wooden Pagoda.
**Exquisite Double Buffet Afternoon Tea:** Although I didn't try it, it looked very rich and beautifully presented.

p5: The passageway leads directly to the South Station, but the station square is quite large, so it's another 5-minute walk to the waiting area.

GGuest UserI was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries.
The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included.
The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride.
My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room.
The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily.
If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn.
*I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out.

NNoodle KnightLocation is near Datong Ancient City Wall, quite convinient if you want to walk to go inside ancient city. Near hotel there are restaurant and mini market, location is not difficult to find. Room is very neat and tidy, technology of the hotel room is really cool, when you put turn the electricity of the room, the curtain will automaticly close, lamp near the sink will automaticly light when you walk near. Really awesome!
Also receptionist lady is very friendly, there are free self serving laundry too! You can go to building beside hotel in the morning to get breakfast using breakfast coupon. You will be budgeted certain amount and can choose variety of food there. There are sausage, noodles, soup, porridge, and hot drinks. We stay during winter, so hot soup during cold weather is the best. This is worth the price for 3* hotel!

JJames56It was a pleasant surprise to see such a bright and cheerful room, so close to the train station and a shopping mall and hypermarket. The lady at the reception was very helpful and pleasant. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom has very good shower and drainage. The best we have seen! On top of that, we were allowed to do our laundry for free! Transport was convenient. Lots of buses around and easy to visit the tourist attractions. Highly recommend this hotel!

TTamy MyWorldAroundThe location is just ok, i haven't done so much turism there but ia a bit far from the center, the capsule is very good and they clean everything everyday. There's no stuff there so I had to ask for help to a guy just walking through the street to get in as I needed a code and they weren't answering me throw the app, tried to call them but hunged up when I talked in English.. but a part from that everything was good!

Environment: An elevator was recently installed ~ I can’t experience it this time, come back next time haha
Service: The front desk is very welcoming and will try to help with anything you need. The room aunt is also very nice.
Overall it's highly recommended, and it's close to the scenic spots.
