JJohnsonFComing from Rome airport, don't bother with Uber – it's easy to get misdirected to Parking B, which is for large business vehicles. Taxis are much more convenient; they don't use meters, it's a flat 55 euros. The hotel itself isn't huge, but it has everything you'd expect from a budget hotel and was much better than anticipated. There's a fountain outside that always attracts a crowd of tourists and local youngsters having a drink. Not far away, there's a food store with good ice cream too. It's a 10-minute walk to the Colosseum and 20 minutes to the Trevi Fountain. Taking a taxi through the narrow alleys isn't worth it; walking is better. A comfortable pair of athletic shoes will be your best friend navigating those uneven, perhaps millennia-old, cobblestone streets.

MMichael_KOur stay at the Viminale View Hotel was an acceptable one - but we would unlikely return on a future visit to Rome.
Arriving at the hotel in the early afternoon, we were pleased to be allowed to check in ahead of the published time (14:00hrs). The service was friendly and efficient and we were quickly shown to our room - that being a ‘deluxe’ room at the end of a corridor. Room number 1 was to be our home for four nights.
The room was of a good size and well-equipped e.g. towels, tea and coffee making facilities, a small fridge (with optional mini-bar), a television and a bathroom - with an excellent free standing bath tub in the centre of the bedroom.
Perhaps my biggest gripe with the hotel was the disappointing view from the room. A ‘Viminale View’ it most certainly was not. Interestingly, room number 1 was the only room on the wrong side of the building. All others, including cheaper standard rooms, had the all-important Viminale view. In fact, not from anywhere in the hotel could we see the Viminale, since the reception area too was without any windows.
Our two windows looked out onto a gutter on one side and an adjacent building on the other.
We paid a little extra for breakfast, which was of a simple but acceptable standard. Given the size of the hotel with just 10 rooms, an extravagant buffet was not expected. More a continental selection, there was enough to keep us going until lunchtime. Cold meats, cheese, bread, pastries, yoghurts, toast etc, with scrambled egg and sausage available as hot options. Hot drinks were made on request.
As a smaller establishment, this accommodation appeared only ever to be staffed by one person at a time, which somewhat impacted service. Once seated for breakfast, we were provided with a hot drink and then left to it. There was no opportunity to request further drinks, which was a little disappointing. And on one occasion, we watched as a guest had to go in search of a member of staff in order to get a cup of coffee.
Perhaps in the mornings, especially with breakfast to provide and guests occasionally checking out, a second staff member would be beneficial.
House-keeping was of a good standard but returning on our last night, we were keen to enjoy a coffee, only to find that our supplies had not been replenished and our cups were still dirty on the side. As a hotel unstaffed after 17:00hrs, it wasn’t a simple case of calling for some coffee, rather just going without.
Whilst an enjoyable stay, the view from the room and the lack of hotel staff beyond 17:00hrs just didn’t work for us.

SSonya_theoneWe've stayed at this hotel twice. The premium room and standard room only differ in size and the presence of a desk. The renovation is brand new, with a fresh and understated design.
The elevator operates silently but is slow. The soundproofing between rooms could be better, but if you just need a place to sleep while traveling and want to quickly depart from Termini for other parts of Italy, it's ideal and budget-friendly.

Nothing compares to the feeling when a bunch of people rushing at Trevi Fountain, and you walk through the crowd to your Fontana Hotel and you know that in the morning you will have breakfast with a view to Fontana! And you can go down to him any time by scouting when there isn't a lot of people since the early morning and you don't have to hurry anywhere. There are nuances, of course the hotel is not young, with its big story. But I close my eyes on the tiny things. Because I love this hotel!

GGuest UserThe hotel has a convenient location, two steps from the Trevi Fountain. Overall, you can stay here for a couple of nights, but next time I'll look for something more comfortable. Cleanliness is mixed: on the one hand, the room was cleaned every day, bed linen and towels were changed, and the bathroom was well-cleaned. On the other hand, the carpet in the room is definitely unnecessary, why do they use it in hotels with high traffic? The carpet was poorly cleaned (or not cleaned at all) by the time we arrived, so we walked around the room exclusively in slippers. The bathroom was very stuffy, like a sauna, and we could not figure out how to deal with the air conditioning, it seemed that the bathroom was heated centrally. However, the air conditioning in the room itself did not work, but we did not contact them, since the nights were warm and we did not freeze. Yes, an important point! There is no soundproofing in the hotel at all, I woke up at night and early in the morning from footsteps in the hallway and someone's conversations.

DduguguirenA 10-minute walk from the Central Station, this place offers a quiet escape despite being in a bustling area. The first room I was assigned had a foul, musty odor, making it uninhabitable. It seemed like the toilet might have been broken and without water. After contacting the staff, they immediately came to inspect and moved me to a different room. Although this room was a bit smaller, it had a refrigerator and a kettle, which I actually preferred.
