Best stay experience. They upgraded me for free because of some issues with my room. The room the gave me was super nice. I love it so much. Best hotel in Suzhou. There is a garden next to the hotel for free entry

This was truly a wonderful experience for me. An absolutely perfect hotel with a unique and ancient architecture, it enhances the beauty and at the same time introduces tourists to the medieval culture of China. I felt like I was living in ancient China. It was really impressive to me. The room was fully equipped, clean, airy and the scenery was romantic. This place is very large and they also welcomed many important people such as politicians and artists. Delicious breakfast food and traditional decoration. Staffs are very nice and helpful. thank you eveyone

Stay to believe it, this hotel with an ancient wall designed theme make it so unique! Hotel staffs are friendly, cleanliness are good, ambience are comforting. Saw some previous guests stay with negative feedbacks but still give a try and no regret. Suggest to choose room nearer to hotel lobby as it’s a very big hotel, like a maze. They have their very own back garden for their own guests and it’s huge. Location still Okok, but everywhere i will take hired car services which make it not much difference. Their Cafe at level 1 near the swimming also a must visit cafe, one of their staff called Amy is very welcoming and cheerful! Enjoy my stays at this hotel. Oh ya, late Lee Kuan Yew also stayed at this hotel before too!

Not recommended to stay here.
At first impression, the hotel looks grand (like a palace) and the ambience is nice and welcoming. However, this is the only positive point.
Location: Not near to any metro station at all and no convenience stores or nice food stores nearby that are within walking distance. Tried to find food at around 4pm but the hotel's restaurants are all closed, as well as their in room dining.
Rooms: Does not look like the pictures on the website. Rooms are very old and dated, as well as very dusty. There was no view at all. My legs were very itchy after my shower (using the shower gel provided by the hotel). As the hotel is huge, it is like a maze getting to our rooms and easy to get lost. Signs were also misleading. Self laundry room is also very packed and it took me more than 5 hours to get my clothes dried. The hotel needs to be more efficient.
Service: Very mediocre.
Buffet breakfast: Nothing special and taste is not good.
Overall, I was very disappointed with my stay and definitely won't be back. There are many other hotels with the same price point or lower, that are of better value. This is definitely not a 5* hotel.

One massive interesting hotel with its own garden. Great service from the staff, free laundrymat, room is great with awesome garden and pond view, but bathroom water can sip thru due to worn out seal. Breakfast has good varieties but almost same everyday. Overall nice stay.

The room is well maintained despite signs of aging. Its blending of traditional architecture and modern facilities is a plus point for me. The room is spacious with very comfortable beds. Loved the view and garden around the hotel. It’s just next to Panmen scenic area. It was a very enjoyable and relaxing stay.

An interesting concept, the hotel is built like a palace and has its own museum, multiple courtyards, several restaurants and shops, direct access to Panmen Park and high class hotel amenities. The price is very fair. Our only gripe was that the location is quite far from most sights in Suzhou and that the closest metro station was not that convenient.

Highly recommended, the staffs are very helpful and polite especially Mia, she guided us the tour of the hotel. The garden is huge and beautiful landscape, there were free live performances at the evening. Very handy and close the tourist area such as The Humble Administrator Garden. We will book again if we visit Suzhou.
