Great hotel, lovely and clean. Perfect location. Food was very nice. Definitely be returning next time we are down. Thank you very much for our wonderful stay ☺️

We stayed in a 1 bed lodge. The property had everything you need and the washing machine/ tumble was a great addition and we were also given a few wash sheets- bonus.It was also fully equipped with the little things that makes the stay more enjoyable/ comfortable such as kitchen roll/ tea towels/ liquid/ coffee/ tea/ milk sachets and shower gel/ shampoo. The heater in the bathroom was also great to offload wet towels from the pool. The house itself was good. The only thing that would have made it a tad better was a little bit more attention to cleanliness detail. However I am certain that had we pointed this out to staff this would have been rectified as they did with a request for change of bedding. On the flip side, if it had been overly spotless I probably wouldn’t have relaxed either with our 2 children. In all, we cannot complain for price we paid. The events put on was a lovely surprise as we didn’t expect this. This ranged from bingo, bouncy castle and a magic show. The different food vans each evening were a lovely touch. We only tried the chicken curry on a Monday evening and to be honest, we thought it lacked on flavour. The peacocks were super amazing wondering around and the three little ducks. Lovely location to go out and explore we went to Bucks Mill ( beautiful) Bute ( beautiful) and Westwood Ho! Also nice for a bit more ambient. Also, if you have children, the milkyway adventure park is a lovely addition and takes about 25 minutes.

I was travelling with my partner and friends. We booked two hotel rooms, one room had a broken bed and no toilet roll, the other had a slightly off balanced bed and the toilet bin hadn’t been cleaned as there was someone’s sanitary pads in there from the last stay, this was a very last minute booking so we appreciate the accommodation but we’re expecting a little bit more cleanliness in our rooms, we also went down to say about the beds and were told they would be fixed that night and no one come to fix it, we only stayed 2 nights so dealt with it but weren’t very pleased about the situation

I booked the hotel as I needed somewhere to stay en route to south Devon agter collecting my son from a late flight at Bristol airport, so our stay was short, and overall I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. We arrived at 1:15am and there were a few things that could be improved - very tired after a very long day and a late drive, I found the instructions to find our room qyite confusing. On the paper with instructions it had the building names, but in the dark you can't see these, so it took us some trial and error to find our room. The room itself was clean and comfortable (albeit very warm and needing the window opening), as was the bathroom. My biggest concern was that I saw there was a kettle, but after searching numerous places I couldn't find a cup or glass to have some water to take my nighttime supplements, or to have something to drink in the night (I had to return to the car to get my water bottle). At receptionnin the morning I asked if there should be glasses or cups on the room, but the receptionist didn't seem to think there would be, whcih i found a bit odd. It was only on returning to my room and reading the welcome folder that I saw mention of a drawer where I'd find tea cups etc. Then sure enough I saw it marked clearly and found it. This was my mistake of course, however I would suggest that, baring in mind some travellers arrive late at night and basically want to roll into bed on arrival, it would be helpful to have some glasses or something left visible, so that clients don't have to search for them when they can barely keep their eyes open! Other than this though, I found our stay to be very pleasant, and I was impressed that the cooked breakfast was made to order, fresh and hot. Overall a good stay, just a few things that could be improved to make it easier for those arriving outside if reception opening times.

The hotel was really convenient for the train station being only 5 to 10 minutes walk away. This was great as we had booked a train via Trip at a super price. The hotel is a great base to explore the area including Brixham, Torquay, Teignmouth and Dawlish - using the train was cheap and quick. Now for the hotel - We arrived at around 2pm and the room was ready which was a result. The lift is operated by the room key and is good for security. The room was clean and large with a super king sized bed and a walk in shower with toiletries and hairdryer. There is also an iron and ironing board if needed. The room was very comfortable and extremely quiet and soundproofed. There is air con or heating in the room and the maid visited daily to make up the room and replenish the tea and coffee. We booked a breakfast included room - highly recommended! There is a buffet for hot breakfast plus cereals, fruit, toast, croissants and pastries. Tea, coffee and juices. Everything was replenished as needed - My advice is to book this because it is £18 PP if bought on the day. The staff here were exceptional from the front desk to the maids and the restaurant and bar staff - very nice crew and most helpful and polite. We ate in the hotel on one of our nights and found there to be a decent choice with a vegetarian option or two. There are a few good eating houses nearby - we recommend Henrys Bar and The Local Thai as really good places. Overall this hotel is extremely good and very good value for money - We will stay again if in the area.

We stayed in a family club room with our 3 year old grandson. The room was huge with 3 French doors leading to large balcony & magnificent garden & sea views. The heated pool was superb. Our only niggle would be that because of the dog friendly nature of the hotel there were perhaps naturally dog hairs on the bar/dining room & the shower could have benefitted from a deep clean. Due to the age of the hotel we accept that upgrades occur as necessary on an ongoing basis. Parking was great & all the staff were helpful & friendly. We would definitely return again.

The hotel itself was nice; can’t fault it. Our room however, had a weird, stale smell and was off-putting, with no way to ventilate the room by opening the windows, as you cannot open them - A/C is not a natural ventilation. Bed was comfortable, slept perfectly fine, just not nice waking up with the smell, as mentioned before. Breakfast was good, although I’ve had better.

I am a frequent returning guest. The hotel is situated at bottom end of Totnes main street. It is a busy hotel and bar, serving food. The building is old with one central staircase leading to rooms. All the rooms I have occupied are very clean, decorated in a tasteful way and the beds are comfortable.. Teas are good quality Tea Pigs a small coffee machine is also provided, plus a bottle of water. I am a coeliac and vegetarian. Eating in other hotels is almost impossible,they simply do not cater for my dietary requirements,thankfully I am guaranteed a delicious breakfast here. One of the most important reasons for returning here is the customer service. The staff here are really approachable and friendly. Any issue you may have regarding your stay, they will do their best to help you resolve. T have stayed in other hotels etc if there aren't any vacancies here but from my experience if you like a relaxed friendly environment, lovely rooms, location Totnes as a base, then this is the place to come . It is also a short walk away from the most beautiful cinema I've ever been in, which is tucked away, along the main high street, My only wish is that more free parking was available . The hotel offers capacity for approx 6 cars at the rear of the hotel. There is plenty of paid parking in main street and nearby Morrisons.

The hotel location is very convenient, just 5 min walk to the city centre. There are supermarkets, restaurants and barber shops nearby and make it convenient for short or long stay.

The hotel and area was fantastic, however, service at the front desk and the restaurant was lacking. We took a long weekend break and were excited to try the beach club, however our experience was dampened by the service. Being made to stand around for 5 minutes, whilst being told we hadn't paid (when we had) was unnecessary and frankly embarrassing. The restaurant was the most disappointing part of the stay. I'm the evening service was slow, followed by having our order wrong twice and also dropped. Breakfast at the restaurant was lacking compared to cheaper hotels that offer continental. Small selection , nothing outstanding. When we ordered a cooked breakfast, it took 30-40 minutes to receive some eggs and pancakes although the restaurant was fairly quiet. However, the room, facilities, and the spa were fantastic. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. The beach club outside was gorgeous. The spa was perfect and treatments were, to quote my partner, 'one of the best massages of my life'. We're unsure if we would come back. Although the facilities were great, the service was mostly subpar and not what we'd expect from a harbour hotel.
