The hotel was located a 2 minute walk from the airport bus stop. It was also close to tram stops and a don quijote across the road. The room was a little small but we managed to make space for 2 large suitcases by moving things around. There is also a massage chair in the room which was a random nice touch. I really recommend the breakfast as there was an all fish option which is great if you're muslim and only eat halal. It gave us the opportunity to try something traditional that I would not have been able to before. Freshly made bonito flakes too! The hotel also has a luggage disposal service as my suitcase broke on the way there, it costed 3300 yen. It was a convenient, clean and safe stay :)

This hotel is located on a hillside, offering views of Sakurajima volcano and a partial sea view. (I stayed for 4 nights, but they gave me a room on the lowest 6th floor. I had hoped to pay more for a better view, but from the 6th floor, you can barely see the sea. I noticed that higher floors with the same room type were occupied by locals, which is something I've encountered at other Japanese hotels as well. I usually stay at one hotel for a minimum of three to four days, sometimes even a week, but it seems I never receive any 'special treatment'. I hope Trip.com can address this.) The hotel's breakfast is incredibly rich and varied, which is rare for hotels of this caliber post-pandemic, and the ingredients are fresh. You don't even need to leave the hotel for anything – there's a convenience store, hot springs, massage services, a flower shop, restaurants, and a free shuttle bus to and from Kagoshima city center. Even taking a taxi to the aquarium or Sengan-en costs less than 2000 yen. Overall, it's a very comfortable, convenient, and versatile place to relax. I would choose this hotel again on my next trip to Kagoshima, even though the floor issue made me a bit unhappy 😠 (All photos are scenes from inside the hotel).

Extremely satisfied with this hotel! It's super convenient, just a one-minute walk from the Shinkansen station. No need to drag your luggage far! I booked a double room in the North Tower, which was perfect for one person, and the space was decent. They replaced towels, slippers, and coffee daily. My booking included breakfast, and you could choose between Japanese and Western options. The Japanese breakfast even had Kagoshima Kurobuta pork hotpot, which was so filling I didn't need to eat again, allowing me to try more things later! I preferred the Western breakfast; the coffee was good, and the toast was delicious. I ended up having Western breakfast two days in a row, and they also offered takeaway coffee packets and waffles, which was a nice touch! I'll definitely stay here again when I go to Kagoshima and will recommend it to my friends!

This hotel is genuinely good. Even though the service industry in Japan generally maintains high standards, you can still feel a real sense of sincerity here. When I first checked in, it felt a bit dated, especially the elevator. The doors closed really fast, so you had to keep pressing the 'open' button. Several Japanese guests, being polite and letting others go first, ended up getting caught by the closing doors. The elevator also juddered when stopping at floors. Inside the room, the air conditioning wasn't warm enough, and I felt cold since the temperature had dropped. Following my usual practice, I gave the hotel some feedback and expressed my dissatisfaction. After a few exchanges, I found that they were very willing to resolve the issues. Specifically, on the second day of my stay, there was a mix-up with the travel agent, and my dinner reservation wasn't made. I had actually paid for dinner on both the second and third nights. When I approached the front desk about the problem, it was already past 5 PM, and I wanted to have dinner at 6 PM, so time was really tight. After some internal discussion, the hotel decided that since I had paid, they would figure out a way for me to have my meal, and then they would sort out the issue with the travel agent themselves later. At the time, I was quite upset and worried that a last-minute dinner might be subpar, as Japanese hotel restaurants usually prepare set meals in advance based on the number of guests. I also contacted Ctrip. The initial customer service representative had a rather indifferent attitude, but then another representative stepped in who was much more willing to please the customer, even offering compensation in the form of points. Customers understand that customer service reps also have tough jobs, but they still need to provide that emotional support, which is just how the market works. I also realized that in such situations, to get a meal, I still had to fight for my rights with the hotel myself, but I accepted Ctrip's small gesture of compensation. Later, when I went to the restaurant, I saw that a set meal had indeed been arranged for me. While it was a bit rushed and didn't have as much variety as other hotels, the portion size was generous, and the staff's service attitude was absolutely delightful. So, I didn't raise any more concerns. Overall, the hotel staff were truly dedicated to providing good service. The aging facilities are just something that can't be helped, and it's already one of the most prestigious hotels in the area, hosting many annual company parties and coming-of-age ceremonies. Despite some negative news, Ctrip remains the most user-friendly app. I travel frequently and often switch between different apps, but I always find Ctrip to be the most convenient. I hope Ctrip's service quality doesn't decline during this economic downturn.

The room is genuinely cozy, sparkling clean, and feels like a new apartment. It's about a 7-8 minute walk from Tenmonkan. The street downstairs is lined with nightclubs, so it's probably best not to return too late. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs and a local supermarket diagonally opposite, offering all sorts of fresh meat and vegetables. It was perfect for us to buy ingredients and use the room's kitchenware for a satisfying yakiniku or shabu-shabu meal. The local wagyu and kurobuta pork were incredibly fragrant and absolutely delicious! Check-in and check-out are fully self-service, which has its pros and cons. The advantage is the peace, quiet, and freedom it offers. However, the downside is that if it's raining and you need help calling a taxi, there's no staff member available to assist you. A taxi ride to Kagoshima-Chuo Station costs about 1000 yen. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I have the opportunity.

I would definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Kagoshima. The room was clean, and the hotel facilities were excellent. There's a 24-hour convenience store downstairs, and it's super convenient for JR, the city tram, and the airport.

The hotel is excellent, with great service and comfortable, well-designed rooms. It's affordable and in a good location, with plenty of dining options nearby. Although the hotel is small, it has everything you need. It's a bit of a walk to Kagoshima-Chuo Station, but you can take the tram. Plus, there are lots of great places to eat right around the hotel.

I like this hotel. I've stayed here for 2 times. They provide a free transfer from and to Railway station and a city centre. Very good onsen with a scenic view on Sakurajima. You can also rent a bike here in the hotel for a reasonable price. Convenience store is right by the hotel.

I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Kagoshima – it's incredibly convenient! They have a delicious local pork hotpot right in the hotel (reservations recommended, portions are small). After dinner, you can head to the supermarket next door for a stroll and find a fantastic selection of strawberries. Afterwards, just pop up to the 5th floor for a relaxing hot spring bath. There's a tram stop right outside the hotel, but for places like the aquarium and Sakurajima ferry terminal, it's a bit more convenient to take a taxi (around 1,000 yen, very close). On the day we left, the sun finally came out, and we got to enjoy a beautiful view of Sakurajima right from our room!

Its a good place as a onsen resort hotel. The onsens are really good. The food is so so but they provide free flow ramen and ice-pop at night as supper and snack. The room is spacious, clean and quiet. There is a private onsen tub at the balcony of our room. It is so nice to enjoy it in the breezy spring. It will be better if you have own car to stay here. There do not have much choice of public transport direct to the hotel. But hotel staffs are also helpful to assist you to grab a taxi to any scenic spots nearby. The taxi drivers are all very nice. Even they can not speak english well, they tried very best to drive slowly when we pass by beautiful sakura park and use simple english to introduce few scenic places. The hotel limousine provided us one way when we arrived the jingu station and one way when we checked out from the hotel to jingu for free. I like their service and have great stays here!

We absolutely loved this stay and would recommend it to all travellers! We booked the corner room. The room was well illuminated by natural light during the day and we could see the river from our room. At night we could even hear the water flowing. There were two western single beds but we asked for futons for the full Japanese experience and loved it! The room was spacious and clean. There was a bathtub in the bathroom but we used the public bath (male and female separated) which was amazing. The public bath was quiet and spacious and there was a sauna room. Breakfast was served during 7am -830am with a well set table as shown in the picture. The staff was super kind. Just note that the walls were thin and you should expect some noise but people here are generally used to keeping their voice down. Another highlight is that you can take the bus of both the red and blue lines at the bus stop right in front of the hotel. (The blue line is for Shiratani Unsuikyo.). It is very convenient if you are not driving. The hotel is around 25 mins away from the ferry port and the walk there was pleasant and not difficult to find. Yet another great thing about this place is that you can rent mountaineering gear here at a cheap price, including shoes and rain protection. We rented the shoes here at 1,xxx yen per person (forgot the exact price) and they were very useful. It was raining for almost the whole 5h hike for us and the shoes offered a good grip and were sufficiently waterproof. You can also find little souvenirs at their shop. Honestly, it's impeccable!

I really enjoyed my two-night stay at Samana Hotel Yakushima. The atmosphere during my visit was very peaceful, and the staff were consistently warm, professional, and attentive. Everything about the stay felt well considered, and there was honestly nothing disappointing. I would definitely return. I really enjoyed my two-night stay at Samana Hotel Yakushima. The atmosphere during my visit was very peaceful, and the staff were consistently warm, professional, and attentive. Everything about the stay felt well considered, and there was honestly nothing disappointing. I would definitely return. The onsen was a real highlight, beautifully maintained and deeply relaxing, and the view from my room was absolutely spectacular. Although it was whale season while I was there, I did not manage to see any whales this time, but that simply gives me another reason to come back. If there is one small area for improvement, it would be the dining experience. While the food was perfectly fine, it felt rather ordinary compared with the overall quality and standard of the hotel. A more varied and distinctive selection, particularly at the buffet, would better match the hotel’s otherwise excellent experience. Overall, a truly lovely stay, and one I would happily recommend.
