The owner of the Rukan is one of the most welcoming and friendly people. He greets guests, tells them about all the nuances of living in the Rukan, interesting places in the city and beyond. He speaks excellent English. And he even helped us solve a small issue with our luggage. I highly recommend visiting.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic, and I have to give it a huge thumbs up! First off, the location is great; it's a maximum five-minute walk from Ito Station, which is a big plus when you're dragging luggage. Secondly, its position right across the road from the sea means you'll want to get a higher floor for amazing views. Sitting by the window, sipping tea, and enjoying the ocean scenery—you could do it all day long. Thirdly, regarding the room itself, I initially thought it would be tiny given the square footage, but it was actually very comfortable for two people. Every detail in the room was thoughtfully designed, making it feel incredibly cozy. Ending each day with a relaxing soak in the hot spring before bed was pure bliss. Most importantly, even though the hotel is older, it's incredibly, incredibly clean and tidy. The staff members are all quite elderly, but their dedication to their work is truly admirable. I'm already looking forward to staying here again on my next trip to Izu!

Facilities: The hotel is well-equipped with all essential amenities. Cleanliness: The bathroom, while compact, was impeccably clean, and all towels and bath sheets were spotless. Location: Boasting a superb location, the hotel is just outside Mishima Station's South Exit, immediately visible on your right. The surrounding area is excellent, with the bustling South Plaza right next door. A highly convenient bus stop directly in front of the hotel provides easy access to destinations like Mount Fuji, Izu, and Hakone. Service: The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always greeting guests with a warm smile.

The room was fantastic, and the bathroom had a great wet/dry separation. I was so lucky this time to see Mount Fuji; it was perfect for photos. The outdoor onsen also offered views of Mount Fuji, and having both indoor and outdoor hot springs was very relaxing. The hotel offers public amenities like a microwave. There's also a vending machine for drinks on the mezzanine, which is super convenient. I'd recommend guests staying here to pick up some microwaveable food from the 7-Eleven at the outlet mall before 8 PM, just in case you get hungry at night (there's a fridge in the room). For photos in the hotel lobby, you can queue up to take individual shots. The hotel provides a stand, so you can just set your phone on it and snap away. It's really great. Regarding transportation, after arriving at JR Gotemba, you can take the free shuttle bus provided by the outlet mall. Once you reach the outlet, cross a bridge (I think it's called the Bridge of Hope), then go to section 4, walk towards P4 parking, and take the elevator to the 6th floor to reach the hotel.

The sea view is amazing, and the room is very spacious. They provide everything you could possibly need, even makeup remover and facial cleanser. The hotel has a buffet, which costs about 350 RMB per person, but I opted to buy food from a nearby convenience store instead. Since the hotel is located on a hill, you can use DiDi International for rides. I walked to the convenience store, which was quite a long way, so I took a taxi back. The hotel also has a swimming pool and other amenities.

Hotel Resorpia Atami was an unplanned booking on my trip. I got stranded at Atami Station due to Typhoon No. 11, so I ended up booking this hotel. To my surprise, it exceeded my expectations: 1) The hotel is located by the sea and is a 10-15 minute walk from Atami Station. 2) All rooms face the ocean and there are Japanese-style tatami rooms, which felt very authentic. 3) The hotel has a large public bath (onsen) where you can enjoy a relaxing soak while watching the sunset or sunrise – it was incredibly romantic! I'll definitely stay here again next time!

It's about an 8-10 minute walk from Ito JR. The lighting along the road is not sufficient, so avoid going out alone at night. But there is an Aeon supermarket 5 minutes away, which is quite convenient I happened to try a restaurant nearby called ”Shou Da An”, which has a strong traditional flavor and tastes great. I highly recommend it! The room is spacious enough and has a private bath, but the temperature is not very hot, which is worth noting.

After returning from Japan, I felt that this was the hotel I stayed in the most satisfying way. The hotel doesn't have many rooms, so it's never crowded. There are about five or six onsen (hot spring) rooms, which lock and light up when guests enter, making them like private baths. We booked a twin room, which wasn't very large, but had everything we needed. The hotel's location is also very convenient, with a bus stop just a few hundred meters away. There's also a convenience store nearby. I'd like to praise the hotel's breakfast and dinner the most. The staff will discuss meal times with you and prepare them in advance. They were delicious and exquisite. Breakfast included freshly grilled flounder, and dinner was a kaiseki meal. We booked two nights, and each meal was different, which was a real surprise. This hotel's blind box promotion was a huge success!

XXiaomuMUSI”This trip to Izu Kogen was made particularly memorable because of this B&B. As soon as I arrived at the B&B, the owner's warm welcome made me feel like spring breeze. The owner was very considerate. Not only did he introduce us to the surrounding attractions in detail, but he also gave us a lot of practical travel suggestions. The environment of the B&B is even better. The room is clean and tidy, and the layout is very warm and Japanese, making people feel as comfortable as at home. The public area is also very comfortable, and the hot spring ♨️ is also very suitable for families. It must be mentioned that this B&B is very close to the Jogasaki Coast, and it is very convenient to travel. You can just walk there, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful. When we went back, it rained heavily and the tram stopped running. The owner took the initiative to contact us to help us find a way, and finally sent us to our destination. Thank you very much🥹 In short, this stay experience was great. I will definitely recommend this B&B to my friends around me, and next time I come to Izu Kogen, it will still be my first choice.”👍

CcometdebrisI stayed at Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace for 5 nights booking though Trip.com. Be warned that problems may occur when booking through travel websites such as this one. I booked a standard room with no meals. What I did not know however, was that this reservation did not include any room cleaning services for the entire stay, no taking of garbage or towel replacement, no bed making, nothing at all. When I contacted the travel website to show my disappointment, they immediately contacted the hotel requesting a full refund. I did not expect a full refund for my entire stay. What I did expect, was for someone to acknowledge the fact that this important piece of information should have been indicated someone on the online reservation confirmation. Neither the travel site nor the hotel would acknowledge this. The travel site replied with a response from the hotel, saying that I was a regular guest and knew about this “regulation”. It’s true, I have visited Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace on several occasions when housekeeping services were not included. However, this was clearly indicated on the reservation, and I stayed during the COVID STATE OF EMERGENCY, when it was standard practice for many hotels to exclude cleaning services. My recent stay was at the beginning of August, WHEN THE STATE OF EMERGENCY AND COVID RESTRICTIONS HAD BEEN LIFTED. It is no longer standard practice to exclude cleaning services at hotels in Japan. The hotel stated that I visited the front desk every day to get towels and never mentioned the need to clean the room. This is untrue. I only came to the front dest 2 times during my stay, and this is because room cleaning staff entered my room on 2 occasions, so I was expecting them to clean or take out the trash, but they did nothing and left. I expected them to return, however, they never did. The bottom line is the hotel is responsible for communicating their services to customers, especially after covid restrictions have been lifted. Blaming guests for their lack of communication is completely unprofessional. Now in regards to the hotel itself, I have stayed here on several occasions, I find it to be perfect, mainly because of the location and modest room size. The hotel is conveniently located near Lake Ippeki (Ippekiko) and there is plenty of nature and a few trails in the area. You can step out the door and be on a simple hiking trail within minutes. It’s a very quiet area and very good for children and families. Though the hotel is dated, the rooms are all quite large and include a living room, kitchen with cooking supplies and dishes (but no forks or spoons), a large bath, and both Western and Japanese style bedrooms. Some may be discouraged by the age of the hotel (it’s quite old and could use some renovation), but if you don’t mind that, then I would highly recommend staying here. One point that I need to mention is in regards to the bedrooms. The hotel has replaced their blackout curtains with super thin curtains which allow sunlight to easily shine through. We were woken up at 5:00 am every morning because of the bright sunlight in our room. If you’re a light sleeper, please take note. I wish management would consider this. Also, it’s highly recommended that guests come by car, public transportation is very inconvenient in the area. Overall, Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace is a very convenient place for a reasonable price. I will definitely be staying here again in the future, but hope that they act with a little more professionalism and consider the fact that the covid state of emergency ended long ago.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in a dense forest of mountains, very wild and luxurious, sitting on the terrace to drink a cup of coffee, overlooking the canyon and the sea, that feeling is priceless. The outdoor private hot spring is also great. Listening to the sound of insects and snoring in the pool late at night, the body and mind are healing. The ingredients for the vegetarian breakfast are picked from the vegetables and fruits grown by the surrounding Liangtianli Hotel. It is sweet and clear, and it is unforgettable with the aroma of tea after the barley is fried. There are many attractions within an hour's drive around the hotel: Dashi Mountain, Yibi Lake, Seven Waterfalls, and every place is very fun. I am looking forward to coming back for my next vacation...

GGuest UserWe recently stayed at this charming new hotel conveniently located just a short walk from the heart of the city, and it turned out to be one of the most pleasant surprises of our trip. One of the things we appreciated most was the value for money — the room rates were very reasonable, especially considering the location and what was included. If you're driving, parking is no issue at all. There’s a parking area right behind the hotel, and the front desk offers discount coupons to help reduce the cost — a small touch that goes a long way. What made this hotel especially ideal for us was how easy it was to explore the city on foot. From the hotel, we walked to the Musical Instrument Museum and visited several other nearby attractions without needing to move the car. After a half day of exploring, we simply drove about 10 minutes to reach Yamaha Innovation Road, which was another highlight of our trip. While the hotel is on the smaller side, it never felt cramped. In fact, it gave off a cozy, boutique vibe that made our stay feel personal and welcoming. The breakfast was simple but satisfying, and their signature dish — the grilled eel fried rice — was absolutely delicious. It’s a must-try if you’re staying here! The hotel also provides thoughtful amenities, including yukata robes, quality shampoo and soap, and even a humidifier in the room — perfect for keeping the air comfortable during dry seasons. Throughout our stay, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. They were attentive, warm, and always ready to help with a smile. Whether it was providing local recommendations or helping with parking, their service truly stood out. All in all, this hotel offered a blend of convenience, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality. If you're visiting the area and want a peaceful base with easy access to city attractions, excellent service, and that rare feeling of being genuinely welcomed — this is the place. We’d gladly stay here again.

GGuest UserI suppose the charm of Atami is that the whole area is a little bit 'dated' as far as a resort goes, and this hotel definitely aligns with that - it seems like a place that was once great and is now kind of just rolling along bringing in what money it can. The food is serviceable but totally uninspired - an upscale cafeteria masquerading as something better than it is with 'chefs' wearing their whites. The entire dining room constantly smells of fryer oil from the tempura - which they still make and keep stock of in such large quantities that it is never fresh and crispy anyways (especially the shrimp, which has not been sufficiently dried before battering). The remaining hot dishes are very disappointing both in terms of variety and overall flavor. The sushi and sashimi is the standout of the food, although it too is very basic - not anything that will blow your mind, but acceptably tasty and reasonably fresh (although on our second night everything tasted a bit soapy/bleachy). As a westerner you will be very disappointed by the breakfast, although that's a 'me' problem rather than a hotel problem per se. The spa facilities are nice but a bit dated - be careful in your selection of both time and location unless you want to be surrounded with many loud (mostly Chinese) children. Private spas are available and are quite nice, although again dated. Nonetheless at around 60 USD for an hour the price is good for the privacy, especially as a westerner who is otherwise subject to quite a bit of staring at this mostly local and Chinese spa. We stayed in a deluxe king room, which was spacious with an enormous and comfortable bed, and a (For japan) reasonably sized tub. Room and desk service was good. The hotel is a bit off the beaten path but has regular free shuttles to/from Atami station, which is where the main tourist streets for shopping etc can be found. Highly suggest checking out Golden Eye for some excellent Ramen.

MMakhamTravelThe hotel is very clean, the staff are very nice, and they helped me with my luggage before and after checkout despite my only staying there for 1 night. The room is private but has no door lock, and you can't be loud because the roofs are connected to other rooms. The room is very clean and has an in-room locker for clothes and your worthy items. The location is close to Shizuoka JR Station. It is only a 4-minute walk, and it is easy to find. The bathroom is also clean, as in the photo (I took it when there were no people). The price is not expensive; it's worth staying. will definitely be there again 👍😊

GGuest UserBeautiful onsen — our favorite stay in Japan with my family! The traditional breakfast was delicious with a very large selection of dishes. The rooms are gorgeous, quiet, and spacious — and everything was exceptionally clean. The cleaning crew truly does an amazing job. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, making us feel warmly welcomed. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station, and having a washer and dryer available for guests was a big plus. Highly recommended — we would love to stay here again!
