The owners and staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accomodating. The airport free shuttle was excellent and always on time. I will recommend this guest house to anyone needing a place to stay near the airport. The swimming pool and restaurant was amazing. Will definitely use them again

Upon arrival, check-in at reception was smooth. We were provided with our room key and directed to our accommodation, which required us to drive to the other side of the estate. However, when we reached the room, the key did not work. We walked back to reception, where we were informed that a network issue had prevented the key from being properly programmed. The receptionist, who was very helpful, offered to accompany us to the room and opened it using a master key. She assured us that a functioning key would be delivered as soon as the network was restored. Upon entering the room, we immediately noticed that it had not been cleaned. The window sill was sticky with what appeared to be beverage spills, the floor was dirty, the bathroom mats were not fresh, and most concerning, there were rat droppings on the window sill, on the floor behind the curtains, and behind the door. I contacted reception to request housekeeping and asked to speak with a manager, as the condition of the room was unacceptable. A housekeeping staff member arrived, but I requested that cleaning not proceed until the housekeeping manager assessed the situation. The manager quickly confirmed that the room had indeed not been cleaned and that there were clear signs of rodent activity. She apologised sincerely, asked us to wait while the room was cleaned, and said she would escalate the matter to the rooms division. While waiting on the terrace outside, we noticed a mouse in the bushes, which explained the droppings found inside. After the room was cleaned, the manager returned, apologised again, and informed us that a complimentary bottle of wine had been arranged for us. We told her about the mouse we had seen and expressed that we did not feel comfortable staying in that room. She went back to speak with the rooms division, and we waited in the bar. An hour later, she returned with keys to a new room and directed us there. The replacement room was clean, though the entire experience made for a rocky start to our stay. The following day, after breakfast, we returned to our room to find that the terrace doors had been removed and two maintenance staff were working. This came as an unexpected surprise, as no one had informed us that repairs would be taking place. We decided to return to the bar to allow the work to be completed. As we were celebrating a birthday that day, the housekeeping manager kindly arranged for our room to be decorated with a birthday message. From that point onward, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay thanks to the exceptional customer service at the restaurants, bars, and spa. In particular, we would like to recognise Moses, Regal, and Tebogo at Kingsley Restaurant; Sibongile at Granatas; and Mandy at the spa for their outstanding hospitality. They truly made our stay memorable. Overall, despite the challenges we experienced upon arrival, we had a lovely stay. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making my mother’s birthday special.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfect airport hotel with such a cool aviation theme ✈️ I really enjoyed my stay at Protea Hotel by Marriott O.R. Tambo Airport. If you need somewhere to stay before or after a flight from O.R. Tambo, the location is incredibly convenient — the hotel is only about 3.5 km from the airport and provides a complimentary airport shuttle, which makes travelling so much easier. The first thing that stood out to me was the aviation theme. It’s carried throughout the hotel, from the aeroplane-inspired artwork to the industrial-style furniture and décor. Even my room continued the theme, which gave it so much more character than a typical airport hotel. My room was clean, modern and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed, TV, tea and coffee facilities and a small fridge. I also really liked the rainfall shower and the overall open, contemporary bathroom design. The hotel’s rooms are soundproofed too, which is definitely appreciated considering how close you are to the airport. The hotel also has an outdoor swimming pool, a 24-hour gym and an on-site restaurant called The Warehouse, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Room service is available as well, so you really don’t need to leave the property if you’re only there for a short stopover. What I liked most was that it actually feels like an airport hotel in the best possible way. ✈️ The aeroplane photographs, aviation-style furniture and little design details make the property interesting and memorable rather than just somewhere convenient to sleep. Overall, I would definitely recommend Protea Hotel O.R. Tambo Airport for layovers, early-morning flights, late arrivals or even an overnight stay between connecting flights. Comfortable, clean, convenient and literally minutes away from the airport. ⭐️ 5/5 — I would definitely stay here again, especially when flying through Johannesburg. ✈️❤️

We booked this hotel for one night, and it was only a 5-7 minute taxi ride from the airport. The rooms are quite spacious, and the bathroom has both a shower and a bathtub. I would have liked more electrical outlets. A hairdryer can be requested at reception. There's some crockery available, but we couldn't use the frying pan as it was in poor condition. You can also order food from a menu at the hotel. There's a Spar supermarket about 1 km away, and a McDonald's nearby (though the staff strongly advised taking a taxi to the store as the area isn't very safe). The hotel grounds themselves are very well-secured.

The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and conveniently located just a few minutes from the airport, making it the perfect choice before or after a flight. My room was spacious, spotless, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were welcoming, professional, and made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. One of the highlights of my stay was the food. I ordered room service several times and every meal was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. I was impressed by the variety on the menu—whether I wanted a hearty dinner, a healthy breakfast, fresh fruit, yogurt and granola, desserts, or hot beverages, there was something for every craving. The quality exceeded my expectations, and I loved the convenience of ordering directly from the QR code menu in the room. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my stay. Great service, comfortable rooms, excellent food, and an unbeatable location near O.R. Tambo International Airport. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautiful, spacious and perfect for a relaxing stay I had such a lovely stay at Weston Guest House Krugersdorp. The property is in Noordheuwel, Krugersdorp, and the whole place has such a peaceful, private atmosphere. My room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I especially loved the bedroom and the big comfortable bed, but the highlight for me was definitely the spa bath/Jacuzzi. 😍 It made the stay feel like a proper little getaway rather than just somewhere to sleep. I also loved how much space I had. There was a separate living area with a large TV and comfortable seating, a dining/work area, and a proper kitchen with a large fridge, microwave, stove, kettle, toaster and plenty of cupboard space. If you’re staying for a few days and don’t want to eat out all the time, having a full kitchen makes such a difference. The room gets beautiful natural light, and I loved sitting by the large windows in the morning. The property itself is in a quiet area and is known for its views, which adds to that peaceful, away-from-everything feeling. Everything felt comfortable and homely while still giving that romantic getaway feeling. There’s also free Wi-Fi and private parking, and the guest house has a pool and other facilities on the property. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Weston Guest House and would definitely stay here again. I’d especially recommend it for couples, a relaxing weekend away, or even a solo stay when you just want somewhere peaceful, spacious and comfortable. ⭐️ 5/5 — and that Jacuzzi was definitely my favourite part! 🛁😍
