Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep was founded in 1383. This legendary temple, with its white elephant shrine, was constructed by the royal household. The stupa in the center is particularly eye-catching. You'll find golden canopies all around, and gilded Buddhist statues in the temple. The temple is said to have been built using 242kg of gold.
