Review of the two guesthouses I stayed at in Upper and Lower Yubeng

🔼Upper Yubeng Shanyu Guesthouse (Photos 2~10) A very new guesthouse, located at a higher position. The interior is spacious and bright, very clean, with large glass windows offering great views. Pulling back the curtains reveals an unobstructed view of the snow-capped mountains. On a winter morning, watching the sunlit golden mountains from the room is truly comfortable. The bathroom is divided into three separate areas, and the toiletries are also quite good. My favorite feature is the guesthouse's own heating system, which starts every evening at 6 o'clock. Although it doesn't get overly warm, it's enough to not feel cold. The lobby on the first floor is very spacious, with ethnic costumes available for borrowing, a supermarket, and also a restaurant where you can have a full meal. Breakfast includes rice noodles and some self-service snacks, which taste very average. You can go to the opposite Chuanwei Food Tribe, which opens very early. 🙅If I had to point out a downside, it would be the steep slope in front of the door. After climbing the mountain all day, the last stretch of road is really the last straw, too hard . However, the guesthouse offers foot soaking, which is quite comfortable. 🚪: 98 guest rooms 💰: 510+ There are also cheaper bunk beds 🔽Lower Yubeng Muchen Mountain House (Photos 11~17) Located further inside the lower village of Yubeng, it has a very artistic log style. The owners seem to be a couple, very enthusiastic, and you can borrow trekking poles for free. There's a small courtyard with many cats running around. The guesthouse faces the snow mountains, but unfortunately, the view is somewhat obstructed by other guesthouses in front 🤷‍♀️. The rooms are very spacious and the bathrooms are clean. You can have breakfast, and the presentation looks quite nice, but due to an early start for hiking, I didn't have the chance to eat. 🙅I wouldn't recommend staying here in winter, although it might be a comfortable guesthouse in other seasons. There is underfloor heating, but it requires inserting a power card to operate, and it heats up very slowly. After returning from trekking, turning on the underfloor heating, it doesn't warm up all night, too cold to dare to take a shower. There's a gap under the door, and the room is even colder the next morning than it was at night... The value for money is too low. 🚪: 20 guest rooms 💰: 610+ The last photo was taken from the rooftop terrace of the Yubeng Holiday Hotel, with a nice view.
