Dongguan Welcome Hotel I didn't want to leave Dongguan during the Spring Festival as I felt so relaxed... Celebrating the New Year in Guangdong, of course, I had to visit the surrounding cities. I originally planned to go to Liuzhou in Guangxi. On the second day of the new year, I checked the journey time and it had gone from 5 and a half hours to 7 and a half hours, so I immediately gave up and chose the nearby city, Dongguan! It takes only about an hour to drive to Dongguan, and the hotel we stayed in was the Dongguan Welcome Hotel, which costs about 700 yuan/night including a buffet breakfast. The lobby is very high and has a festive atmosphere for the New Year. The reason for choosing it is that it was renovated in 2022, and nearby there are the Shuilian Mountain Reservoir and the Botanical Garden, away from the dust but not from the city! The whole hotel is built in the style of a resort, with leisure and entertainment facilities. Guests can enjoy afternoon tea, use the gym, the constant temperature swimming pool, the movie viewing area, and KTV (at their own expense). Personally, I think it's suitable for family trips, business banquets, and company team building. The service attitude of the entire hotel is enthusiastic. The hotel's breakfast is served in the Chinese restaurant, which is close to the lake. It's very pleasant to have breakfast by the lake. I recommend the egg tarts, freshly baked waffles, tom yum rice noodles, and chicken feet, all of which are very delicious. After breakfast, of course, it's time to stroll around the nearby botanical garden and reservoir. The air is very clear. The hotel has a buffet and a Chinese restaurant. We drove to the city to find food. The must-eat in Dongguan is roast goose and Lai Fun. Many small shops were not open, so we went to Dalingshan Guanxiang Tile Pot Roast Goose, which is close to the hotel. Many people come for its reputation. The taste is suitable for the elderly and children, light and not greasy. The soup base is made of mature earth soup, and it's open throughout the Spring Festival!
