In order to explore this hidden corner, I came to Beizhangcheng Village. The earliest village can be traced back to the Yuan Dynasty. According to records, in the eighth year of Yuan Datong (1304), the original village was located in the west of the village, called "Zhuangwang". Later, Jiao's family built a tomb here and moved east to the current location. Because the village is surrounded by mountains, the shape of the mountains is like a city wall, like a barrier, like a small capital city, so the village name is taken as Zhangcheng. Later, to distinguish it from Nanzhangcheng, it was renamed Beizhangcheng according to the location. The car stopped at the entrance of the village, and with a casual inquiry, the church could be found quickly. It is said that this church has a history of a hundred years. Who and why built this church in this small village a hundred years ago? Who spread the Western faith to the remote east in that slow era of carriages? Were there devout believers who also sang hymns here? Do they still live in the village now? The question is already unknown. Interestingly, the ancient stage of the village is diagonally opposite the church, one east and one west, one Chinese and one foreign, just looking at each other, watching for a hundred years, until all the noise has faded away, they have become dilapidated.
